I'll make this short. When everything goes well, Pearce is awesome! When there's a concern regarding work done, the staff becomes condescending, rude, they don't listen, they deflect, blame others, and accept responsibility. Word of mouth goes far. They have some abysmal ratings on the BBB website. They screwed my mom and me out of money and they don't care one bit. Awful!!! ***Update on 2/17/26*** Pearce reiterated my points and the points that other reviews have made. They 100% REFUSE to accept any criticism. If they can't handle it, then either close up shop or find a way to deal with criticism. Every single person makes mistakes, including your company! Interesting how it was mentioned in their response about the "full situation." Pearce is the one that refuses to admit that a mistake was made. So, it's laughable that they want to mention the "full situation" when in actuality all they want to do is argue that they never make mistakes. Plus it's not acceptable to mention a customer's last name. That isn't information they should share unless the customer did in their review or in their profile name. It comes across as shaming and threatening. I'll report them for doing so. read more

We had used Peace for over 5 years for our new home. At least once a year they come out to "fix" my heating and air. it has never. ever. been fixed. and their quality of work is as simple as just turn off heating and air upstairs all together or take off the thermostat and just leave it there for me to figure out. the cost for their services is astronomical especially considering they have never solved an issue. read more

Pearce plumbing/heating and air came out to our property in the country for a complimentary plumbing inspection. We've used Pearce for a host of HVAC repairs and installs over the years. They've always been fair and have done quality work and also very professional. On that note I just wanted to thank Erik the technician that did the inspection for being really informative, thorough , professional and just seemed to be enthusiastic about what he was doing. Hi Jim, thank you for responding. If we had gotten a response sooner we wouldn't have felt the need to post a bad review. Yes the first unit's condenser was bad and we don't fault your company for that at all. However when the problem continued with the second unit and we were told by your management that the only thing that could be done is for us to pay to relocate the unit so we didn't have to hear it, was upsetting to say the least. It was especially upsetting that I had to call the manufacturer for help resolving the issues since your company would not do it. The manufacturer informed me three things were installed incorrectly by your company - the line set was the incorrect size, the dryer ball was in the wrong location, and there was an incorrectly installed relay panel on the furnace unit. Fixing these issues corrected the sound problems and the manufacturer confirmed those problems would have ruined the unit within 6 months if not corrected. So there wasn't just a sound problem-there were actual technical and functional problems. We understand that things happen and your technicians were great guys, but our biggest issue was the lack of communication and no response from your management after repeated requests via calls and texts. In regard to the furnace gas leak, the fire department confirmed on that Friday night there was a propane leak coming from the furnace. We turned off the propane valve to the furnace and the gas dissipated. The fire department confirmed we could wait until Monday to get it serviced. On Monday, the technician stated there was a propane smell which resolved after he tightened the connections. So, according to both the fire department and your technician there was indeed a leak. If you would like to give us a call, we'd be happy to have a chat, we've been waiting over a month for a call back from Taylor. read more

This is my first Yelp review, but I feel it is important to make consumers aware of what they are potentially getting into. I requested a diagnostic on my AC unit from Pearce Heating and Air. They charged me $89.00. Their repair estimate was double other companies in the area. It also turns out the diagnosis was incorrect. In addition, the repairman left wires to my unit disconnected and the power to the unit shut off without my knowledge. I spoke to the manager about the issues and they made excuses instead of resolving the problem. read more

After a couple reschedules, all is forgiven after Matt B inspected our 10-year-old system as part of our 'twice yearly' contract. We were required to pay for inspections at our last house to keep the new unit under warranty (different company), so after moving to Winters it just seemed like a good idea to set something up for our new (used) system. It took Matt a little longer than our old inspectors took, but the reason is obvious when I saw the checklist and pictures of things inspected. The old company serviced us in 1/4 the time but didn't provide any information other than "It's good" as they tried to upsell us on additional services or parts. I told Matt I was looking for a new smart thermostat and he provided me with a link to Amazon for a new Honeywell (my request) that will just snap onto the existing mount I already have (old Honeywell). Matt obviously knows the business and was a pleasure to work with, as was Monica who had the unfortunate task of rescheduling us a couple of times, she couldn't have been more pleasant. I signed up for another year's service and expect to be with these guys for a long time. Go Pearce! read more

He recommended the needed repairs and also offered us an annual inspection contract that will help us head off other potential problems with our "senior" furnace. I hired Pearce to do a tune-up and vent cleaning because I was working for them at the time and they said they'd give me an employee discount. Up until working for Pearce we had always used Right Now Air before with no issues. I figured I'd give some business to my employer this time around. Pearce did an okay job, nothing spectacular, just okay, no complaints. After working for Pearce however, I would not work with them again. They are more expensive than the other HVAC businesses in the area and I don't like how they treat their employees and I'm not just referring to myself. There is a reason they have few longtime employees (2+ years) that aren't related to them. Slander...Wow ! Just warning others to not use your business based on our whole terrible experience ! We did not hire another company to switch out the thermostat either. Why would we do that when your company was the one helping us from the beginning ? Why would we pay for someone else to fix the issue of no air blowing out of our duct ? We just paid you $15,500 ! So definitely wanted Pearce to fix what was wrong ! And one of your services guys did install an Amazon smart thermostat because I asked him to while he was here on that service call ! Who is calling who a liar ?! Also we have never had a final permit inspection !!! My husband has called multiple times to inquire about it. No one has ever come out from the county/city to inspect our ducts or unit ! Still Waiting !!!! It would have saved us a lot of trouble of calling Pearce out on service calls because the inspector would have seen that there was no airflow in the main duct and all the problems that we are still having to deal with ! So again....the lack of disorganization/ horrible service is apparent. I guess u call it bullying, but we just want an AC/heater that works when we turn it on ! I can call the city to see how to get that duct inspection ASAP since have gotten nowhere with your office. We definitely will be finding another company to fix the wrongs. No worries there ! They provided quick service and were extremely thorough when diagnosing the issue (loose debris from the builder clogging the pipes). Update: Tuesday 7/11 - Spoke with a manager, Taylor, who was not empathetic about the situation and mentioned several times that my review was not accurate so it gave the impression I was only called because of the yelp and google reviews. He also could not own up to the fact that mistakes were made on their end and kept referring to the techs notes, acting like it was our fault. Our coil was damaged to begin with but the tech, Paul told us that they will keep an eye on it with the twice yearly checkups, to keep our dog off of it and it should be fine for awhile. If it was brought to our attention that it was completely damaged and 100% needed to be replaced when it was first looked at, this could have all been avoided and we would have ordered the part immediately. Both of the techs should have been able to recognize that from the beginning instead of charging us approximately $1300 for a leak test and 2 separate fill ups of refrigerant. Maybe try training them better? Maybe admit that mistakes were made instead of pointing fingers to your customers? How are we supposed to know that's the issue when we are paying "professionals" to do this for us/put trust into your company and proceeded to do what was recommended. Even one of the techs, admitted to the mistake and said that the office should reimburse us or discount towards replacing the coil. Taylor stated that they tried to do the cheaper and fast way to help the customer (when our ac was down in a heatwave). I rather of been told from the start that we needed a new coil/having to wait for the part to be ordered instead of wasting $1300 on a leak test and refrigerant then left us without a working ac during the middle of summer. I ended the call because Taylor handled the situation very poorly. Horrible customer service from this company. read more

After two visits and $1300 spent, our AC is still broken. They finally figured out the problem, but we aren't made of money so we asked for a little money off the repair since our unit was misdiagnosed twice and we wasted $1300. We were told nobody can speak with us until Monday. So on the hottest weekend of the year, we patiently waited in our 95 degree house with a large dog and 1 year old baby we were worried sick about. Today we are basically told oh well, do you want to pay 2-3 grand to repair your unit or replace the system. How can anyone trust your company if you're screwing people out of money and not even fixing the problem? Unless you've won the lottery and have money to waste, do not use pearce. Edit: This is a response to the reply submitted by Jim P. I appreciate your reply, but I have a few issues. First off, the first technician mentioned pet urine as a possible issue to our AC unit but said and I quote "It's going to be fine, but we will keep an eye on it during our inspections twice a year." The second technician who showed up told me he reviewed the notes of the previous visit and thinks he knows the solution, but never mentioned pet urine. During the third visit, the same technician said, and I quote, "If I had known about this damage to the unit I wouldn't have even suggested refilling the refrigerant and adding stop-leak, I would have suggested replacing the coil." He proceeded to apologize and felt so responsible for the outcome of the situation, he told us he will suggest to management some money kicked back to us for the mistake that was made. You did not call several times, you called 7 days after the AC went out for the second time and your receptionist told us no management will be in until after the 4th of July holiday. I scheduled an appointment to have my heat pump serviced at my ranch in Winters. I scheduled the service for the following week. The company representative told me they would arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for the appointment. I reworked my schedule to accommodate the appointment window. Prior to the appointment date, my wife and I both received 3 emails confirming the date and time as well as text messages. All of the messages confirmed the appointment time range, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. On the day of the appointment, no one from Pearce showed up to service our heat pump. I placed a call to them at approximately 12:15 p.m. to inquire as to why no one showed. The representative on the phone found me in their system and informed me my appointment was for the afternoon. I told her I have multiple emails confirming the window I scheduled, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. She continued to tell me I was scheduled for the afternoon and she didn't have access to the emails. I then asked her for her email address so I could forward her one of the emails. She received the forwarded email and couldn't explain why the discrepancy in the time and told me she had just gotten back from vacation. I have no idea what her being on vacation had to do with anything? The emails and text messages are generated directly from the scheduling software. There is no way I was ever on the schedule for any different time because the software wouldn't have sent automated emails and texts with the time I had scheduled. It's insulting when company representatives make up B.S. to try and cover their ass instead of owning up to the mistake. And my time is just as valuable as theirs. I changed my work schedule to accommodate the appointment. They should be compensating me for my time. Instead, the only thing they're worried about is themselves. read more

Yesterday we had our 21 yr. old heating & air conditioning units replaced. The two gentlemen Anthony & Roscoe were really great. They worked very hard to ensure that not only everything was installed correctly, but cleaned up the mess in our home & yard. Told him I never accepted any appointment, he leaves. I call them back at a number I never called in the first place and same lady answers. She said yes, I remember you and you said ok to the appointment. I told her I never called this number and she said there were several numbers and I never agreed to any appointment. Of course our AC stopped working when it was over a 100 degrees out. I called Pearce and they sent Raul out. Raul worked hard in our hot attic and spent a lot of time doing a diagnosis which didn't result in good news. We opted to cut our losses and start over and buy a larger and more efficient system. The following business day, Johnny and Tony (they are brothers which is pretty cool) arrived on time and began the switch out. It was another 103 degree day and these guys were up in our attic and outside. The job was completed in the allotted time. My husband wanted to see how cold we could get the house and we got it down to 58 degrees! I have had Pearce AC out on previous occasions with the old failing AC unit and I am amazed how consistently professional and polite the technicians are. He was honest, very professional and answered any question I had. I wish there were more sales people like him in this industry. Anthony and Tim (the installers) were beyond excellent and made the install process smooth even though the job was a challenge. They went above and beyond to make me happy and satisfied as a customer. They were very polite and honest guys. I wish there were more people like them in this industry as well. I can tell customer service is #1 with Pearce Heating and Air. When we were trying to figure out an issue that came up, Anthony told me if I'm not happy as a customer, they won't leave my house until I am happy as a customer and want to make sure things are done right. My choice was based on 1) my personal interaction with the company representative. 2) the equipment manufacturer, and 3) cost. This company was not the cheapest, however, my personal perception of the sales rep sealed the deal with me. The most important aspect was the installer, Anthony, who came in and explained what and how he was going install my unit. He was clear in his explanation, answered all questions without hesitation.
