System is quite smart as you're free to brows to your heart content since all inventory are behind glass which is a safer viewing and if you're ready for any help all you need to do is sign in at the counter and they will call you when it's your turn. I do really wish that they have what each of the crystals represent along with the names of them to take with you as I do know the basic though am a total novice to the more selective ones...though I'm sure you can ask as well as some of us are not that familiar with it all. After a very long day at work I needed something at Ala Moana Center then decided to have a sip of coffee at Island Brew Coffeehouse and decided to chill at one of their window seating that got me to notice Ocean Creations right across...hm!? Thinking it's another jewelry store I just decided to see what they have and it wasn't at all what I expected. As soon as I walk in I see pieces of charms and power stones which apparently is an experience for you to build your own charm bracelet...majority are gold filled but there are a few silver plated. They're also many pieces that are made including collections section for the horoscope lovers, angel numbers, and even a little chart of some info of power stone meanings which is kinda my thing that I do like. I have seen it forever, but will admit this was my first time actually stopping in to see what was offered. First reaction - a really nice selection of saltwater and freshwater pearls, reflecting choices from black to baroque to white pearls. Black pearls, white pearls, a mix of colors, this place has a ton of options. What I really appreciated was an honest assessment of each option I looked at - oysters can be finicky with pearls, and create perfection as well as a "perfection" that would appeal to many of us. What I really appreciated was no push to upsell, just a genuine aloha to help me and other people in the store find something that was right for them. This store doesn't have a lot of local reviews, so I felt it important to give a local. honest review. Frankly, I expected just to do a "just looking" walk through - after all, regardless of what tourists think, pearls are not found in our waters, let alone oysters - but the personal service, and the comfort, even glee of pointing out what may not be "perfect" but will have character, is what sets apart a personal sales experience from mass market. Ultimately, I chose a fantastic looking black saltwater pearl with an "imperfection" that played beautifully into the gold clasp. The price was quite reasonable, the help in shopping made it a learning experience as well as a discovery. I don't know anything about pearls, I'm from Oahu and we don't have pearls/oysters here, but I loved this little shop and the honest discovery.
