Pearl Boba Tea and Snacks is a spot in Davie with exactly what it says- boba tea & snacks. I've mainly heard about it because my friends LOVE the banh mi here & I finally got to try it. My best friend called ahead as it was nearing the end of the night to put in an order for two banh mis. They didn't ask for any details, other than if we wanted it toasted, so my guess was that they only have one type of banh mi here. When we arrived, parking was super easy with the plaza it was located within. The inside was bright, clean, and spacious. It had a good amount of seating and a cute photo op wall in case you want to take a photo of your boba or snacks by it. They have a menu easily displayed so you can see the variety of their menu. Our banh mis were ready a few minutes after we arrived and took them to go. I did have super high expectations for this banh mi because some of my close Vietnamese friends say it's the best in Broward. This time around, it was okay but I feel like it would've been better if it was toasted. For me, it's the bread that makes or breaks the banh mi and the bread was okay because it was overall slightly cold and tough to bite. Came to the Indian place next door to get some food and saw this spot open decently late and was excited. Very clean inside and the staff are friendly and quickly greeted me. I was looking forward to a refreshing watermelon milk tea but they did not have it on the menu and were not willing to accommodate my simple request even though they had strawberry milk tea on the menu. I happened to come across this place while I was waiting for an appointment and I wanted a quick snack. I got a boba tea and wonton soup. It was SO DELICIOUS! Really blown away by this hidden gem. A great Banh mi shop, probably my favorite so far, that is tucked away in the Winn Dixie plaza next to the Carvel Ice Cream shop. Their crown jewel is their banh mi dac biet (the works). The bread is nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They don't skimp on the pate or the meats. They offer a special all day, $10 for a Banh mi and a boba which is a great deal compared to other places. The workers are really kind and speak both vietnamese and English. My friend and I were in this plaza and are always down to try a new boba spot! We ended up getting the same drink, a watermelon and pineapple tea, mine with popping boba, and hers with jelly. Overall not thoroughly impressed with this place. Kids running around. Drinks too sweet or too bland. When you can't finish your drink it sucks. Especially when the cups are that small. They did have a promo where you buy 4 drinks, you get one for free or for a $. Truthfully anything made with milk is a bust. Never had Thai tea taste like that. Brown sugar had more sugar than the average. And the matcha was just milk. Sugarcane was ok. The fruit drinks are the goto here. But even then 6 bucks is a little out of hand esp for that size. Love this banh mi and boba spot! It's my go to spot for banh mi sandwiches and freshly squeezed sugarcane juice! The owner and staff are friendly, and they know my order right when I walk in the door, because I literally go every week. Affordable and huge portions, and the veggies are pickled nicely. Went there 10/6/2023, and boy this place took a nose dive. A real trifecta of a terrible experience. 1. Orders were messed up. Boba tea came without boba and "strawberry" tea looked barely pink. The sandwich came with carrots and pickles in a little bag and not in the sandwich. According to the young guy - who seemed to be in charge - it was because he could not put it in the untoasted sandwich and I didn't ask for a toasted one. Beats me why would you ask toasted or not if you cannot make a sandwich without toasting. Which segways into #2 2. The guy was beyond rude, he interrupted me, didn't let me speak, and then suggested that I can go home and toast the sandwich and put the pickles there myself. Sure instead of going where I needed to go I would go home and do his job. 3. When I asked for a refund, he stuck his finger in the terminal and said "There it's refunded". But when I asked for a receipt, he had to spend a minute in the terminal and ask for my card to actually refund money. What a scumbag.
