We chose Pearl for new Years Eve early dinner. We were seated quickly at a table near the window. We chose our food and made our order after waiting about 10 minutes. After about 15 minutes, our soup had still not arrived. The waitress asked if we had had our soup and we said no. The restaurant was moderately busy, but they were also processing a lot of takeout. After our soup we awaited for the two other dishes we had ordered. We found it quite cold in the restaurant. The tea we ordered soon got cold. One of our ordered dishes arrived for us to start. After about 10 minutes, I asked for the second dish to be served. It arrived about 10 minutes later. In the meantime, of course, the first dish was stone cold and not enjoyable to eat. The second dish was very good however quickly got cold. I have eaten at pearl several times and like their food very much. The dishes are well prepared fresh and very good. We were quite disappointed with our evening meal as the service was very slow. The room was very cold. Our food was good, however, getting cold soon after it was served. The atmosphere is bright and generally seating is comfortable, except for being quite cold near the window. The food is pricier than most other restaurants, but servings are generous. read more

For Halton, this spot truly stands out among other Asian restaurants in the region. The service is attentive, the food quality is excellent, and the presentation is top-notch. Sure, there may be more affordable options further east in the GTA--like in Markham or downtown (Dundas/Spadina)--this place holds its own. Visited Pearl for dinner. The service was great and the food came quickly. We ordered the Peking duck set dinner with a few extra dishes. The duck was pretty good! Instead of the traditional wrappers, they have fluffy steamed bao wraps. The quality of food is average overall...perhaps on the pricier side. read more

Yay a dim sum place that takes reservations! I've driven past the Pearl many a time on the QEW and finally had a chance to visit! We came here with a group of six for late lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant is located on the south side of Oakville Place where there was ample parking. You enter the restaurant from the mall. The inside of it is pretty nice, more on the modern side of things. We were given a paper menu to select what we wanted. This was in both English and Chinese. Most of the dishes had small, medium, or large sizes so we just circled which ones we want. Once we were ready, a waiter came by and read over our order with us making sure to note what we did select. We ordered a ton of BBQ pork plates with different outer packaging - rice noodle, steamed bun, pastry, and dinner roll style! I definitely enjoyed all of them but the pastry was outstanding. We wound up getting 3 orders of this one. Another dish that stood out to me was the shrimp toast! I've actually never seen this before at another dim sum place. Their mango pudding dessert comes in a super cute Hello Kitty shape which was delicious and hard to eat without destroying. They have a bunch of other pretty unique desserts including an almond milk and berry pudding. We had some leftovers so we got those packed to go in reusable plastic containers. read more

We drove from North York to try out this third location of the Pearl restaurant. Our Second visit today with our friends. Beautiful decoration and very good service. The STEAMED SCALLOP & SHRIMP DUMPLING 翡翠带子餃 and HAR KAU (SHRIMP DUMPLING) 雪花蝦餃 are tasty. Not too thick and good flavour. I like it how there isn't too much pork inside. The STICKY RICE IN LOTUS LEAF 古法糯米雞 was nice and big, good portion and delicious. No matter which location of the Pearl I go, I always order the SILVER NOODLE W. SHRIMP & CHICKEN 鮮蝦銀針粉, not a lot of Chinese restaurant serve this dish, good flavour and nice texture. Will definitely come back when we meet up with our friends at Oakville or in the neighbourhood. read more

Not your usual "Mall Style" Chinese food! Working in the area and looking for Dim Sum, Pearl popped up on a Yelp search. There was nothing to indicate that this was in a shopping mall. That would likely have turned me off pretty quickly, knowing how most food court food turns out. However, Pearl is more of a standard Spadina Avenue type of dim sum restaurant, except it's buried in a major shopping mall. The food was on par with many of the absolutely traditional dim sum restaurants in the core of Toronto. Food quality and service were excellent, the price a bit on the high side but knowing that there's not much else in the area -- that's fine. read more

Classy, clean, beautifully presented dim sum. Probably the best dim sum west of the 427. It's a little pricy, but they can be because they are the best within 40 min drive. And less busy than the standard places on Sundays. read more

This is my first time going to Pearl Oakville.  It is the same group as Pearl and Pearl Bayview.  The restaurant is located inside Oakville Place, which is the only mall in Oakville.  The decoration is elegant and service is fast.  Ordered peking duck, stuff chicken with shrimp paste (江南百花雞), stir fry vegetable with garlic, and two dim sums (siu mah and har gao). I am surprise they serves dim sum at dinner, although the price is $1 more than lunch time.  Dim sum is relatively expensive, average out $10, but both dim sum is really good.  Peking duck is not as good as J&Y in North York.  The wrap is thick and cold.  Stuff chicken is the signature of the night.  The presentation is so so, but the taste is delicious.  I almost ate half of the entrée.  We finished off with red bean soup and "lin go".  I am surprised that Pearl Oakville is a really good restaurant.  The quality is definitely comparable with the restaurant is Richmond Hill and Markham! read more

It feels pretty scammy when they don't bother to list the prices on the order form. Food is ok, but portions are very small, and overpriced. $7.5 for 2 spring rolls, and on top of that, they charged us $10 for tea. We had the lobster noodle, which is like $100 after tax on its own, the rest works out to $45 per person, and without the lobster noodle, we wouldn't be full. Not much value compare to buffet like Mandarin. read more

I didn't like this restaurant. We have ordered five different dishes but all of them isn't tasty.

The dim sum is good, however, so overpriced we will not return. The bill for for four including tip came to $185. When you pay almost $90 for two for dim sum, that borders on ridiculous! When the bill arrived, we advised to split the bill between us. They advised they already did. Imagine our surprise that we we paying almost $90 for dim sum with only green tea as a beverage, no alcohol! Needless to say, this is wayyyyy to rich for what it is. Good luck finding enough people to pay these prices for a dim sum brunch, even if it is in Oakville. read more

This was the second time we tried the Pearl restaurant in Oakville place. Last month the food was delicious but we did fin a hair in one of the dishes. Upon return today for dim sum, we ordered several dishes and enjoyed the pork buns and the sticky rice. Next to arrive was short ribs from the chefs feature menu. What I thought to be a black bean was in fact a dead fly mixed into the sauce. Our meal ended here. We politely informed the manager of the issue and were on our way. We did not indulge in the crab claws, sesame balls, pork ribs and other items ordered, and sadly will not be returning. Back to Cynthias!!! read more
