I usually go to Sears optical on canal to see dr Gonzales . I was on my last pair of contacts needed an exam ASAP! he was not available so I came here . For me an eye exam is an eye exam, I've worn glasses for years so I know the routine. The dr surprised me because she said I had an astigmatism in one eye - which I've never heard before from any dr and I've seen 4 different eye doctors in my adult hood . I did browse the glasses they had basic frames which seemed affordable . The staff was very friendly and helpful . The reason why this place is getting 5 stars is because of the office manager - I told her I was paying cash and didn't have eye insurance , she worked with my budget and made the visit very affordable . read more

My kids got their glasses back in March, we haven't had any problems with them. I picked up mine today, I really like them. Their Anne Klein frames, two of the kids have Ray Bans. Now I see things clearly. I was in urgent need to replace my glasses. A quick search for glasses places around the hood combined with a search for coupons yielded this place as an option. Called them and asked them if they would take my coupon, me being one of a group(hint, hint) They told me that as long as their address was listed they would take it. Got the coupon, got there with some time restraints. I asked them if they could see me within that time (no pun intended) and they said they could. They lied!!! I had to come back the next day. No hurt feeling tough, I had no appointment. A little bit o this a little bit o that. Come back in a week and we will have them ready. Make sure to check that you need everything they recommend, because if not the numbers just keep on growing. Week later, go in try them on leave. Initially, I was going to go to my appointment last Tuesday but work got in the way so I had to push it for today (4-7-15). The young miss that helped me (Iris) was amazing. I previously went before today to see the selection so that way I wouldn't of dragged in the place and they took them and saved them for me which is a huge plus. So today when I walked in I told them I had an appointment at 3:30 and within 15 minutes I was checked in and went to the back to get my pressure measured which quite frankly I'm scared of hahaha, I hate that thing blowing onto my eye, a warning would be nice (just kidding). So after that I was sent back out into the waiting area and in less than two minutes, the optometrist greeted me and took me to the back. Wow, he is such a nice Doctor!! He's so chill yet professional and very empathetic, the exam itself took 15-20 minutes and he was so nice I can't get that out of my mind, not a lot of Doctors are as nice as he is. So once that was over with I proceeded to making my payments, the glasses I chose where $250.95 and the exam was 59.00 which Iris so kindly reduced to 54.00 and on top of that she gave me a 30 percent discount. The total cost for the frames and the lenses and the exam was greater than $350.00 which is what gives it the 4 stars and not the 5 stars. It is pricey but the experience in and out of itself is worth it. I found the same frames online for $100.00 cheaper but they don't do price comparisons unfortunately. I will go back if I ever decide I want a second pair. There's lots of variety and I'll always know I'll be treated exceedingly well, THANKS IRIS! read more

I went to this location to look for a new pair of glasses but I was disgusted when I walked in; there was a raft of bad odor that slammed me on the face. I have no idea why the management of this facility would allow some one that smells so bad to work in a place where people want to come and get the latest in fashion on glasses and sunglasses, nonotheless, a place where doctors should expect it all to be clean and neat. The young lady came to greet me and ask me if I had questions a little rude but I think thats just her character but the one thing that just turned me completely off from making my purchase here was her bad smell. I would recommend the management, director or general manager to replace her or place her somewhere where potential customers wont be able to come in contact with her. read more

2 stars because they have a better selection of designer frames....... However, look, I know I didn't purchase the extended warranty.... but when you spend $400 on frame and lens, I don't feel the need. Went in today because I'm getting some deep scratches on my lens, and right in the middle. Yes, I bought them 6 months ago. But between my wife and I, almost $800 in glasses. So I went in to let them know, hey I'm getting scratches all over my lens. She gave me the attitude like "pfft, you'll be ok". So is there anything that can be done? Nope!! Buy some more lens. Man, that's deep!!! I have another pair from the exact same location, not a problem with them, just needed new lens. Look, I understand people go in there with bogus claims. I've NEVER, not once, EVER needed a new lens or any maintenance on my glasses. All I'm saying is, ease up on the whole "yeh, you'll be ok" attitude, and see what can be done. Do t just dismiss the situation like there's absolutely, and never will be, an opportunity, unless you've purchased the $25 extended warranty, to repair your glasses. If I'd bought them a full year ago or more, then oh well, so be it. But 6 months? Somewhere along the fine print they have to be willing to give in just a little. I went in to this particular pearle vision to get glasses.i have eye med insurance,whom which covers a percent of my glasses.eye med gives you a certain dollar amount of what they will pay for frames.my dollar amount was I believe 140.00 this store had nothing in that price range every pair of frames were priced at 200 dollars and up.okay fine.so when I was looking for lenses plastic lenses for me would be no cost to me because of my insurance.the lady would not show me any plastic lenses because she s aid and I quote you are not going to like any of the plastic lenses.so after all that I end up paying 210.00 which was really not that bad.i chose my frame and I also ordered transitional lenses.i paid. the glasses came in a week.when I came to pick the glasses up some guy that works there name bruce kept trying to force the glasses to stay on my face.i left with the glasses but I was back there the next day because the glasses kept on sliding off my face. bruce kept on trying to make them fit,after about an hour of bruce trying to get them to fit.i was ready for a refund.bruce told me that there is no such thing as a refund and that I could"nt get one.he said I had to switch frames.so I did.the frames took two weeks to come back I picked frames up yesterday on 09/5/2013.they fit a little better,but the glasses don't change in the sun lite to keep the sun out my eyes and it looks like they forced the lenses into the frame because they are not a perfect fit.therefore I believe that pearle vision located at 5109 s. Pulaski rd just took my money from me.i will not return there,and I will be letting my insurance carrier know about this.so that we can get pearle vision out of our net work.thank you.
