FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! I've never been inspired to write a review until my visit to this store. From the moment I called to request an appointment to the moment I walked out my experience was absolutely wonderful. Here are my summaries... THE STORE: Beautiful and spotless. Great hours and easy to get an appointment same day. Great selection of frames to choose from. THE PRICES: After insurance, store discounts and a rebate I was able to get a gorgeous pair of glasses and a years worth of daily wear contact lenses for about $270! That's the lowest price I've ever paid. THE STAFF: This was actually the best part of my experience. Every single staff member we dealt with was incredibly warm and friendly, and also extremely knowledgeable, informative and great at what they do. The store manager Marciea is a customer service Rock Star! She has a sunny personality and she TRULY cares about the customer and does everything she can to make sure you are have an amazing experience. The pre-exam technician was super friendly and knowledgeable and he explained every single test he did and the reason behind each one, which was interesting. Our doctor was excellent and she informed us of something that the cornea specialist we had been seeing for over a year had never bothered to mention. The gentleman who made my daughter's glasses (in an hour!!) came out to make sure they fit perfectly and gave her some great tips on caring for her glasses that nobody had ever bothered to do before. I have been a customer of the Pearle Vision location in Lombard, IL since 2001. I have lived in the city and and south western suburbs and continue to return even though it is quite a distance. Dr. Veronica Hene is not only an expert optometrist, she is kind, compassionate, patient, and genuinely caring about the needs of her patients. She exceeds expectations in all arenas. Due to the Covid event, I was given an email that this Oak Brook office could extend m prescription, since no office visit could be administered. I called in on a Friday and 4:45 PM, and I was rudely told that the request could not be processed until Monday when the representative was back in the office. I called back the following Tuesday, to get a copy of my prescription, and was then told I could only use my prescription at their location. This office is extremely unethical in their practices. What is the purpose in extending my prescription if you are only allowing me to purchase from them!! This is not a black market!! I will not be using Pearl Vision in Oak Brook again!! I am a bit disappointed in the way I was taken advantage of. They were soooo nice while I was spending $600 on one pair of glasses. When I was purchasing my glasses the sales person (who surely must get commission) lead me towards the high end frames. You can't just look at any of them, they have to be handed to you. Since my prescription is extremely high and typically my glasses are honking coke bottles. I never wear them outside the house. So I asked for the lens not to be made micro thin, but medium was fine. I went back a week after getting my new glasses to have them readjusted. I happened to ask the sales tech about the scratch resistant coating on my lens and could it possibly be removed. This is how I found out that I had the word SUCKER printed on my forehead. She informed me that I had the thinnest lens and the scratch resistant was added to protect my lens. Even though I asked for something different...And what was her reply...well, its only $30 to $40 additional!! So to specify, I asked for the medium thickness lens to save money but got the more expensive micro thin lens. Plus an added $40 for scratch resistance. In all I feel like I was taken advantage of and spent much more money than I expected or wanted to. I will not give them any more business. read more

I wish I had the chance to review the doctor, but since I didn't see her I can't. My daughter had a simple kindergarten eye exam scheduled for 12:30. We arrived on time, filled out the necessary paper work and took a seat. Over thirty minutes later I inquired when the appointment might be, it would be at least another 10-15 minutes. Really? What is the point of making an appointment if you can't keep it? I asked for my papers back and the staff seemed really confused that I was leaving and kept trying to reschedule me. Why would I want to come back somewhere that has no value for anyone's time? No thanks! read more

The service levels at this location have been steadily decreasing since my first review and tonight's experience truly confirmed this fact. After receiving a post card, email, and text reminder of an automatically scheduled appointment which was set up to be one year from my previous visit, I decided to cancel the appointment since I no longer live in the area. I called to let the staff know I would not be able to keep the appointment that was automatically scheduled for me, and a gentleman answered the phone. After explaining the situation to him, he shouted with a very rude attitude that there were no appointments scheduled for that day. No joke! After picking my jaw up from off of the floor due to utter shock, I said "thank you" and hung up. Even though I won't ever deal with this location again, I refuse to be a patron of any other locations. read more

The staff is very friendly and super helpful. The only thing I would say is that they seem to overbook appointments. I fully admit that going to an appointment on a weekend is always going to be busy, but this is the second time I've gone and people were complaining to the office coordinator that they had been waiting 45 minutes for their appointment. (I didn't have to wait that long though). It may have just been a case of people coming in late or taking longer than expected, but just something to keep in mind if you'd like to get in and get out quickly. read more

I was being constantly moved around from room to room. When I finally completed my examination I was charged $40 afterwards for doing a contact fitting that I wasn't told that I would be charged for or was told that it's a separate fee apart from the examination covered by my insurance. When I asked the associate to cancel this fee since no one informed me of this extra charge, she told me she would void the contact prescription, which not only would have wasted my time but been a waste to my insurance. The associate was pushing for sales mostly. Would not come back here again. read more

I was just in for my exam and bought 3 pairs of super awesome glasses. This is a fantastic location. The doctor was very patient and gentle with me, and the two lovely ladies that helped me pick out glasses were so wonderful. They spent a lot of time with me because I'm incredibly picky and wanted glasses that were fun and made a statement as well as functional. Glasses are pricey in general but they helped me get the most for my money, and I really appreciate it. The only thing I could improve in this store is if they had some kick butt black Dior cat-eye sunglasses or some white angled wayfarer glasses. I'd be all over that! :D read more

The staff was very helpful and super patient, which is a plus for me because I am very picky when it comes to finding glasses. Wide selection of frames and friendly associates. Umair was prompt and happy to help me and patient in taking time with me to find a frame that fit my face well. He explained that the lenses are made in a lab in-store and can be paid for and picked up on same day of payment! I went in not knowing how much my insurance would cover so he was happy to break down the charges although I didn't make purchase and just went for pricing. Recently visited the Oakbrook Terrace Pearle Vision with an issue with glasses purchased in Florida. Was greeted as soon as we walked in and promptly helped by Josephine. Josephine provided excellent service. Very knowledgeable. Although Josephine could not fix the glasses since they were made by an out of state store she still spent over an hour with us trying to assist. Gave several suggestions and guidance on how we need to get the glasses problem resolved. Josephine knew that she was not going to gain any revenue on the glasses but did not let that stop her from providing exceptional service. This is my 1st year going to Pearle Vision they have taken great care of my family & I. I ran into pickle with my husbands glasses the Len's popped out of his wire frames last night on 10/10/17. We called this location and they insisted on us to hurry in so they can fix them with twenty minutes of the store closing the gentleman was very patient gave me great information on how to prevent this from happening again he told me if I had any problems to bring them back. Not only did he fix my husband glasses he readjusted my frames as well! I will continuously go this location when it's time for new frames! read more

I was able to book an appointment with ease online. The store was clean and everyone was friendly. The doctor did a good job on the exam and answering questions. The sales associates seemed to really enjoy their jobs and the gentleman that helped me was able to find frames that were a departure from my usual selections and I absolutely love them. First off the doctor is really nice, she had been here for quite a while. A couple of odd things. When you call, they make such a point let you know that the phone call is being recorded. I don't know what is going on that they need record our phone calls but is very unsettling. They will send you mail in the post stating that you have an appointment, but you do not this is just a roo for you to make an appointment. If you get one of those cards in the mail and you show up on the date that it states without talking anybody first you do not have an appointment.. bs. Also they try to up charge for everything trying to sell you all the fixings like a used car dealer. Nice selection of glasses though. If you take the main doctor and all the classes they offer put it to a different business it would be perfect. read more

I've gone to this Pearle Vision Express the last two times I've needed glasses. The first time was the morning before I was going to see a show, and I went there in hopes of getting a nice replacement pair of designer frames with lenses in time for the show. I had insurance, and found the perfect frame, so I gave them my script and they had it done in a few hours. Amazing. The second time, I was due for an exam, so I went there to get it done and get my glasses. This time, I wasn't insured, and that's okay, since they had a buy one get one free deal! After only paying $400 for $800 worth of glasses, I was a happy camper. This time, it took a few days, due to not having a few things in stock. That's okay though. After pick-up, and fitting, I decided a few days later I wasn't pleased with the build quality of one of the pairs. I went back, and they offered to exchange them for anything of equal value, no questions asked! I ended up picking a pair that was slightly cheaper, so they automatically upgraded the lenses to match the price of my exchange. How awesome is that? I'll definitely be coming back next year for my exam and glasses, as long as they keep carrying the designer frames I like. read more

Called and made an appointment for 5 and when I arrived they told me it must not have been entered. Then I continued to wait for over an hour when they told me I could have the 5:15 spot. When they tried to look up my insurance it took them 15 mins to get my name right. Watched 5 people come and go. So unorganized. read more
