Nestled under the L, this coffee shop offers plenty of seating and quality roasts. The food isn't bad either and the service is excellent. We've tried the Bacon Cheddar Chive Drop Biscuit & Oat and Cherry Shortbread. I'm not the biggest fan of Cherry, but it was still quite good. For coffees, we got an Iced Latte and Strawberry Matcha Basil (w/Oat Milk). I will say the Strawberry Matcha Basil is overpriced ($9.50 + $1.25 for oatmilk) and not really worth it. I have no idea why, but to me it tasted like mayonnaise? Could have been mixing with something else I had that day. I've had their ice coffees black before too and it's really good.

Been here twice and able to work remotely. The ambient music is a bit loud but my colleagues said they didn't notice it so your devices should be able to suppress the ambient noise from calls. Quality of the coffee is quite good. Recommend. Staff is great and has an awesome neighborhood feel. Metered street parking plentiful most days/times.

This is a great coffee shop for meeting up with people or remote working - there are so many seating options and a majority of the tables are either next to a plug or have built-in power. There's even a small desk in the back corner if you wanted a quiet workspace! The space is cozy but modern and well lit. And I love the plants. There is also an outdoor seating area too. I got a dirty chai latte which was really good, and the oatmeal cherry shortbread which I LOVED! It tasted very fresh and the oatmeal balanced out the sweetness nicely. Highly recommend!

Great cafe right off the brown line and red line Belmont stop. Theres lots of seating with accompanying outlets and the music they play isn't too loud so it's perfect for studying/getting some work done.

The ambience is cute, nice outdoor seating, and the staff are very nice. I love going here to study, and I love their cortados. I will say the lighting near the back gets a bit dark though.

Great little coffee shop to come work in and have some coffee. I enjoyed both the doppio and the latte. The staff were very friendly too. They have wifi and outlets to charge your devices with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Will definitely come back.

Current fave coffee shop alert! Pedestrian rocks. I've posted up to work on my laptop a few times and the vibes are always excellent. Great music, clean environment, nice setup with water glasses and clearly marked dish tubs. The staff is incredibly friendly - a few times they've personally walked my drink over to me. Also, once I couldn't get the wifi to work and a barista walked to the back to restart it for me. What a gem :') The coffee is excellent quality. Their iced americano is creamy, rich, refreshing! Espresso never burnt (amen!!!). One time I ordered their lemonade. I think it's made in house, it was absolutely stellar for a hot day. I appreciate that you can get items "for here" in a glass cup (they have 12 and 16 oz for iced drinks! And ofC mugs for hot). This spot is right next to the train but I never notice it honestly- perhaps because it has good sound engineering, or perhaps because the vibey tunes cover it up. It's v chillax and inviting, highly recco!

I enjoyed my time at Pedestrian coffee today and had a great coffee. I like that they serve them in glass cups and have free water around the place. The greenery & plants were amazing and I felt like I was in a garden. The food looks fantastic & the coffee is pretty strong in my opinion. I wfh here for a couple hours and if you have headphones, you don't hear anything else mostly at all. Very quaint, and the baristas are so kind. Quick to give you suggestions and will even provide the WiFi password if you're new to the joint! Will be revisiting soon!

Pedestrian Coffee has been my go-to study place for a while now. Sometimes after work or during week ends I will spend almost the entire day at Pedestrian coffee to get my work done. The staff has always been so sweet and friendly and the atmosphere is always perfect for studying or just sitting down to have a chat. One of my favorite drinks in the menu is the Nutella latte! It's sweet and yummy! Their Matcha latte was decent too! They also have a Japanese style coffee which is a bit strong for my taste but I'm sure people will like! They also sell desserts and pastries which always look so fresh and mouth watering. This place offers free Wi-Fi and clean bathrooms for those wondering! They also sell merch, coffee supplies, and coffee beans which is pretty good! Overall I love this coffee shop!

The matcha rose cardamom latte with the cutest for here mugs!

Easily my favorite coffee shop in Chicago. Really the ideal place for a coffee with friends & is especially great for studying!! All of the baristas here are above & beyond. Everyone is super kind, service is fast, & importantly they're great at actually making drinks. I've gotten coffee and matcha here, iced and hot & everything has always been perfect! My go to there is the matcha with their rose cardamom syrup. They normally tell me the standard is 5 pumps or something & I just ask them to do 1 pump of the syrup. It's honestly still quite sweet and I can taste all the flavors with just the 1 pump so I can't really imagine getting it with their regular added 5. I love that they use ceremonial grade matcha here. So many coffee shops use weird cream/sweetener cut matcha & it just tastes like milk. Here you get that really good true matcha flavor. Also one last thing on the coffeeshop to study at note- they have lots of outlets & normally play instrumental music here so the lyrics aren't distracting if you're reading something else! Overall just 100% recommend the best coffeeshop I've found in Chicago!

My partner and I absolutely love the professional service, the fresh and delicious coffee, and the fantastic camomile. It's a perfect spot to relax and unwind!

Located at the foot of Belmont station, this coffee shop is a popular gathering place. We loved the nitro cold brew coffee, as it was smooth and not bitter. We ordered one cinnamon roll to eat there and one for later. The topping was gooey and sweet and the roll was hearty and had a tang of sourdough flavor. It is a cozy place to escape the noise of the city and enjoy a delicious coffee and pastry.

Iced vanilla latte made and a trail mix scone
    Stephanie P.

I was in the area and stumbled upon this spacious yet cozy coffee shop. I asked the man at the counter what he would recommend and once he informed me that they make their vanilla syrup in house, I was sold and ordered an iced vanilla latte. They have non-dairy options available so I opted for oat milk. Honestly, this was one of the best iced vanilla lattes I have ever tasted. The syrup had a natural sweet flavor and the coffee itself was smooth and robust in flavor. I decided to try out their trail mix scone because it sounded like a healthier option. It was very hearty; I believe I tasted walnuts, dried apricots, and oats. I will definitely be back to try the vanilla latte served hot with a cinnamon roll (it looked so tempting) next time!

It is so tempting to open them and start smelling, only the signs very nicely ask you not to. Wanting a break from dime-store coffee and tea (Folgers - no hate, it has a place), I decided to get something a little less "meh". Added bonus is that I am able to support a family business, as opposed to the Walton family and their associated shareholders. The staff at The Coffee & Tea Exchange was wonderful! They helped me select three different coffees to take home, speaking to the roasts and what makes them unique. I'd also like to award some bonus points for just the right grind of coffee for my reusable Keurig pods. My amazement does not stop at coffee, either - this also applies to teas. I went home with a few varieties of some of the more flavorful loose-leaf teas I've had! The kicker? The prices were very reasonable! True, it is not as cheap as a large can of Red or Blue coffee from the grocer's, but at the same time, not as expensive as something a corporation (maybe with a two-tailed siren??) has convinced you comes from a magical place called Seattle. Final verdict: My freshman year roommate had 4 open tubes of toothpaste because "variety is the spice of life." I have one tube of toothpaste, but coming up on a dozen different coffees and teas in my cabinet. Once I start running low, The Coffee & Tea Exchange is the first place I'll go to restock.

There's a fair amount of seating considering the size of the place. Wasn't able to get a spot today unfortunately, but we did go at a busy time on a Sunday morning. Even though we were seated at a regular table, the place had a comfortable vibe and it was easy to settle into. The counter women were efficient, nice, and filled our orders promptly. They did give my friend the wrong size coffee at first, but corrected it quickly and without any problem. One thing I didn't love: my cappuccino was served in a Styrofoam cup while we were staying there. If you're drinking in, it really should come on a ceramic cup and saucer. Save the Styrofoam for takeout! The best part was that we stayed for a couple of hours and no one hovered over us, or made us feel like we had to leave. As for the coffee itself, it was just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either. That's a shame too, because the space is so comfy. Still, there are plenty of other coffee spots on the North Side - and this just gives me a reason to explore others in the neighborhood.
