my son is now 20, and he is been going to Dr Danny Watts since he was approximately four years old. When my son went recently on his visit, he came back with sheets of paper, stating that he had 10 cavities. I also learned that Dr Danny Watts had retired and somebody else took over the practice. We reached out for a second opinion, and learned that our son had no cavities at all. Think twice before trusting your child's teeth to this place. Nice staff and all the comments does not equal competent. Took my 2 kids here for over 14 years and purchased almost every up sell / add on pitch they threw at us as it was in the best interest of our children's teeth. Last year, our oldest went to a new dentist and they found cavities. We chalked that up to time and his semi ok track record and brushing score from Pediatric Dental. However, our youngest, who has had pretty much perfect brushing scores from this place for past 12 years (I can show the scores and glowing reports with no issues reported) recently went to a new dentist and so many issues were found. He last visited Pediatric Dental in Dec 2019 with yet another perfect report with zero issues! Went to a new dentist 5 months later and the dentist found 3 cavities, one so massive and deep he will need a root canal. Explain to me how that decay can just suddenly appear within 5 months from our last visit to Pediatric Dental. Guess what...shocker - IT CAN"T! Maybe something, but the extent of this decay goes waaaaaaay back and was never found or mentioned in our 2 visits per year After multiple attempts to get with the office manager, we supplied them with the x-rays from new dentist and there was no accountability. The Pediatric Dental dentist called and commented on the xrays that "they aren't that bad" and took no accountability at all and essentially did not care or try to address it. He has certainly been happy to take all the extra money for sub par service over the years and now we must pay more money to to cover their incompetence, not to mention the pain my son now has to go through to correct this. We should have learned our lesson from our first son that something was wrong with all these good scores and reports at the first visit elsewhere I strongly advise and even challenge current customers to go elsewhere for at least a quick check up and see what you find in your kids teeth. I bet you will be surprised. Everyone else, steer clear. read more

Wow. Hard to believe my two kids have finally "graduated" from pediatric dental care! We used Dr. Watts for 20 years when you combine both kids, and their office is SO WONDERFUL. The office staff, the hygienists, and Dr. Watts were absolutely fantastic. My kids were never scared or anxious - just happy campers who couldn't wait to get their scorecard on how well they did over the past 6 months with their teeth. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Dr. Watts and his staff are wonderful - however beware of their recommendation of Austin Surgical Arts for wisdom teeth removal. We just went there today and I am SO pissed at that place! They poked my daughter 5 times to get her IV started and THEN she woke up early while they were still stitching her up and she started crying and they yelled at her to keep her eyes closed and not move. She was petrified. She could feel them working in her mouth and the pressure and tugging, but fortunately not the pain. She's never so much as had a cavity filled and was unfamiliar with it all. Dr. Watts has been my daughter's dentist her whole life and recommended Dr. Ann Kristovich. She was pricier than others but I figured I'd pay more to give my daughter a "better" experience. So much for that. My daughter already had anxiety and fear of medical procedures. Now this will only make it worse. When I saw her and she was crying the staff minimized it and said it was the meds and didn't even tell me she woke up. Then the DR said she woke up on the last stitch but it was over quick. My daughter says it felt like it was more about 5-10 minutes. How scary. Your worst nightmare it to wake up *during* surgery when you expect to be asleep. She's home now and medicated and hopefully recovery will go smoother than that ordeal. Please quit recommending them! read more

The dentist, orthodontist, and hygienists are all great and that is why we have been regular there for years for all our kids. Its just recently (September) that we had a falling because of the staff on the dentist side. We scheduled a dental cleaning appointment for kids during first week of school but because of some logistics (at school) we were late by exactly 15 minutes (I called ahead of time that I will be late by 10-15 mins but when I arrived they said I need to reschedule because I am over 10 minute late and they scheduled me for the same time the following week. Next week both me and my wife decided to get kids from two different schools but I arrived on time and my wife ended up late by exactly 16 minutes. The staff on the front desk said that we will need to reschedule and she can never give us the 4pm time again. I was really upset by the comment - we have waited for 10-30 minutes for dental services and never complained in over 5 years and they behaved such horribly. We moved our dental clinic but kept the orthodontist and decided to not write this review until today. Today the scheduling staff on the orthodontist side showed us about the big note on our account to never schedule us for around 4pm. Staff on the orthodontist side was still nice to schedule us for 3:30pm. This poor review is because of the frontdesk/scheduling staff on the dental side of the office! (5-stars for the dental professionals and 0 stars for the dental frontdesk/scheduling staff). read more

Dr. Watts, Dr. Loving and their team are focused on providing the best care to children. Really. It shows from the organization of the office, the funny sock days, and calm/pleasant welcome from the staff. Team is the operative word here, from the front desk, to the hygienists. They work at a team to keep kids moving, be positive, and giving children lots of options to manage their stress. Appointments start on time, the environment is light and friendly. Children are spoken too with respect and never ending patience. For example, our little guys first appointment included a lot of time showing him the funny brush they would use to polish his teeth. It even had a colorful Giraffe cover. The staff work together to keep everything working smoothly - the overall good vibe makes everyone less anxious. As a result, my son has a pretty neutral feeling about going to the dentist. He is a little nervous when he gets in the chair, but they give him time to adjust and have a basket in the corner of "just in case" items ready. Recently, they fit us in for a check after an unfortunate gymnastics fall. Looked bad, and the team did a good job assessing the situation - and then explaining to both me and kiddo the best route to healing. Again, everyone in the office helped us and stayed calm. (It looks simply awful... ) but Dr. Loving was terrific, and really helped my kiddo calm down, and really listen to her. (I think it is very sweet that they post team pictures on the wall, it really makes you feel like they take the office environment and working relationships seriously) read more

After experiencing the torture that is Anthony Bain, (supposedly specializes in children), I reached out to Dr. Danny Watts and his group. My daughter was not given the gift of healthy teeth from the very beginning, she was not fed soda or candy nor unhealthy food, however she had 2 baby teeth that needed to be pulled due to decay. Dr. Bain's work area consists of 8 dentist chairs all aimed across from each other...my daughter was 5 and scared to death and had several other children there for procedures/cleanings who were completely freaked when they heard my daughter scream bloody murder from the "attempted" extractions. He wouldn't give more numbing medicine and said she needed surgery to remove. We left and never went back. Dr. Watts office was extremely understanding and had individual rooms so that my daughter wouldn't be embarrassed if she had to cry because of her fear. The staff were amazing and Dr. Watts talked Lisa through the entire procedure, making eye contact with her every time he spoke about what she was going to feel. SO caring this man is. Within 20 minutes, the two teeth were removed, a spacer was placed and my daughter had no pain. She is now 14 and still seeing this wonderful dentist. We now give him 3 patients twice a year! Dr. Watts explained everything and the steps we needed to take to get things back in order. He takes his time and makes you feel that your childrens health take priority. I love the dentists here as well as the orthodontist down the hall, really they're the best. We drive across town frequently for ortho appointments and dental cleanings. The orthodontists side is pretty amazing at getting them them in and out in a reasonable amount of time, and my kid doesn't hate the braces process like I thought he might. The billing lady on the orthodontist side is also really helpful and makes it a little less painful to hand over thousands of dollars. my only complaint is as down to earth as Dr Watts and Dr. Zapalac are though, some of the hygienists leave a lot to be desired. I don't understand working in an office with kids if you have a cold personality. I thought it was just me and my hate of the term "sugarbugs", but even my 6 year old said the hygienist wasn't as nice as the dental assistant or the Dentist. read more

My children have been patients at this practice for over 20 years. We have always had a great experience with the staff and providers. They've added orthodontics so my youngest was able to see the dentist and take care of orthodontics at the same time, which is awesome! So after having the worst first experience at a pedodontist at Dr. Traci Simons office. I got a referral from my daughters pediatrician to see Dr. Danny Watts. And I was not disappointed! His staff are amazing everyone is super friendly and great with kids. I had the most pleasant experience from the time I called to schedule her appointment to the time her treatment estimate was given to me. Dr. Watts was wonderful with my daughter. He explained to her what he was doing when he thoroughly checked her teeth and made it a fun and exciting experience for her. Which for a 2yr old can be a hard thing to do. After he examined her teeth he gave me his opinion on what he would do for the cavities she had. He didn't want to put my 2 yr old daughter under general anesthesia for 2 teeth when he could easily do it at his office with the options of nitrous oxide and oxygen, local anesthesia, and or oral sedatives. Which I personally feel is less invasive to a little one. Of course if she is intolerant of these options the last thing he would do is to put her under general anesthesia at a hospital to get the work done. But to me personally that should be the last resort and he felt the same way. One cavity did need to have a crown but the other wasn't as bad and could be taken care of with a filling. He also found another minor problem that could be corrected that the other pedodontist had overlooked. He showed me how to floss her teeth and tips on brushing her teeth well which Dr. Simons didn't do. I definitely feel that Dr. Danny Watts genuinely cares about his patients dental health and giving the patients necessary dental treatment. And not unnecessary expensive treatment. My daughter will definitely be getting her dental work done here from now on. read more

Dr. Danny Watts and his team are wonderful. After going to another Pediatric Dentist who was suppose to be one of the best, I decided to try Dr Watts. I am so happy with our experience. The other dentist had my daughter headed to the hospital to have her teeth worked on but the wonderful team at Dr. Watt's office had my daughter at ease and took care of her right then and there. We originally went for a consult and decided right then and there to go for it thanks to Liz who could see my daughter was ready to get it done. They explained everything that they were doing and my daughter never once looked scared. Our son needed a porcelain crown and a cap. The first two dentists we visited wanted to use an anesthesiologist on my nearly 3 year old. We met with Dr. Watts with our concerns and he had the insight that an anesthesiologist was not needed based on how my son handled the examination. Dr. Watts was truly an answer to prayer. True health care and comfort came from him and his team. The number of stars given on this review does not do justice on the level care Dr. Watts and his team provided. While in the waiting room, prior to the procedure another family voiced the same high opinion repeated in this review.
