Our neighbors referred us to Petite Dental after we had a not so great experience at another prominent Orthodontist office in town. The office is always clean. The staff is welcoming and my son always enjoys coming in for his orthodontist appointments and cleanings. Would highly recommend!

This is my awesome orthodontist, Dr. Haber!

I went to Petite Dental to get my bottom retainer examined and I had a great experience! The front desk workers were super friendly and helpful. I waited in the waiting area which was so fun and cute (it had hula hoops to play with and kids drawings framed on the wall). When I got called back into the chair, Alex was the orthodontic assistant that helped me. She got me all situated and made sure I was comfortable (and she was so sweet!). Then I saw my orthodontist, Dr. Haber. He did a very thorough exam on my retainer and ensured everything was working properly and glued in place firmly. He reviewed his findings with me and was very informative and transparent. He wanted to make sure I could also see what he was seeing, so he sent me back to get photos. Alex took me to the photo station to get pictures of my bottom retainer. They use heated mirrors so they don't get fogged up when breathed on... mind blown! Dr. Haber then reviewed the photos with me so we could look at it together while he walked through my exam results. This gave me so much comfort and peace of mind because it allowed me to have all the information I needed, with picture proof! Dr. Haber was so great and informative, and I could tell he truly cares about his patients. He even let me take a selfie with him! As a bonus, I got to keep the Petite Dental sunglasses that I wore during the exam. And even though they are probably meant for the kids, they let me pick out a sticker :) 10/10 would definitely recommend!

I left a lengthy Google review a few weeks ago about my retainer experience as I received poor, inaccurate information from Petite Dental from 2019 and 2022. It was mentioned that they discussed my case in the Google Review as the inaccurate information with them reviewing my retainers affected me now from 2019 and now it is officially confirmed I will need Invisalign again to rectify what happened prior. Teeth take some time to shift and move. Long-story short, dentists/assistants at the time checked my teeth and would always say things would look good; however, they did not mention how retainers can be worn out further due to grind, etc. I would follow what they told me religiously with how they said it would last 3-5 years for my original purchase from 2019 and on my last visit in Dec. 2022 /Jan 2023 when I realized I started to develop a small middle gap and planned to get new retainers from them. Prior to Petite, when I was in Pittsburgh, I would change them every 2 years/get new ones. However, in 2019, I was assured by the office that the ones they had were strong and last for 3-5 years. This is not all accurate and it's dependent on a variety of factors as I learned through the new orthodontist I am now at. This is something I believe the dentist/ortho at Petite both in 2019/2022 who examined could have dug further into or provided information about back then and on my last visit. Regardless, they reiterated the same memo. In the past, I had braces to mainly help correct an overbite (I still have a little bit of it; that's something the dentists/orthodontists should have been able to see and tell me about as my new orthodontist explained it to me in detail) and that can wear out retainers/teeth more (something new I learned from the place I now to go to about these side affects). Bad advice was given again since none of the dentists/orthos Petite had looked further into this on any of my visits and provide the correct patient education with retainer care. They were going to proceed with making another retainer despite my doubts after I noticed the small little gap/things not being like they were in 2019. But luckily, whoever they were sending the scans to for making these, lost them over Christmas when I was about to pick them up so I got a refund. At the same time, since things became noticeable for me, I had another orthodontist (Invisalign gold provider) check things out due to my doubt and they have gotten me on the right treatment plan. I will have to proceed with Invisalign to fix what happened from 2019 after I purchased the initial retainers and the shifts that occurred between that time (3 years until 2022) and I'm out 3k. I included a photo here of the gap so everyone can see and the differences in my smile. Petite Dental is not the best for adults from my experience. The staff was pleasant and nice. However, sadly the information was all wrong. The most disappointing thing that I learned going forward in the future to look for is for dentists and orthodontists to review/look at your past scans as that is the real truth of things when patients feel doubtful. That never happened here either in 2019 or 2022 when I brought my concerns up. I hope Petite improves for the future and this can be avoided for future patients who seek treatment from Petite. I'm sure that I'm the few cases that Petite missed the mark with out of many. However, regardless, patients and Petite deserves to know since not everyone can afford the 3k price tag for a second round of Invisalign/braces and it's a huge price for anyone to pay due to the shortcomings here. I appreciate Petite for at least acknowledging this from what I see upfront on my google review but still it does this warrant honest review.

5 STARS BEST Children's Dentistry & Ortho Care in AUSTIN!!! Dr. Stint was an answer to a prayer after my oldest daughter's previous dentist retired. For my youngest daughter we had tried a couple of doctors, but they were not the right fit for our family. Doctors have to be both comfortable to the parents and the patient. In addition, the staff has to be amazing to handle the hassle of insurance too. Petite Dental works like a championship team with their friendliness, appointment reminders, follow ups, hip music in the waiting area, mannerism, patient bed side manners, media technology, coffee is always available for the tired parent, spotless waiting area, detailed dental plans, and teeth care. We found our home here, so I hope this review will give you an inside of Petite Dental from my experience. #petitedental #petitedentalfamily #bestpediatricdentist #bestorthodontist #atxdentist #atxortho #southaustin #braces #ortho #pediatricdentaloffice

I felt like I got an honest opinion and a high standard of care through these appointments. They listened to my concerns and came up with a treatment option that was primarily Invisalign with minimal time in traditional braces. I think this would probably have been a good option for me, but I didn't take it. Now I have what my periodontist calls "bad teeth", but I was too cheap and unwilling to spend any time whatsoever wearing traditional braces. I was vain and just wanted straight teeth. I didn't like that my bit was jacked up too, but it didn't bother me enough to fix it at the time. Ultimately, I ended up choosing a different treatment option and I ended up going to a different orthodontist. In retrospect, maybe I made the wrong call by not following Dr. Kunik's advice (or the advice of my ortho. - they both had the same recommendation). The reality of the fact that I have to live with these chompers for the rest of my life is starting to sink in now that I'm older. Although I'm probably no wiser, age alone changed how I see a $500-1,000 price difference - dental treatment that will last your whole life. Let's say you're a teen and Dr. Kunik says something to the effect of, "Dear, I know all your friends have Invisalign but we need to use transitional braces to fix your {shark teeth synonym}." I'd suggest you do your best to talk your most sympathetic parent into getting you whatever braces Dr. Kunik recommends. Why? 1. Your parent(s) want you to be happy, healthy, and your best adult self so you don't move back in after college. They might have insurance that covers your braces now. If so, you take it and you run and get yourself whatever braces they tell you to get. Dr. Kunik's office can try to find more affordable treatments if the original proposal is not affordable for your family. It might just be a balance between short term aesthetics (while you're undergoing treatment) and cost. Their office was actually really cool about finding more affordable treatment options for me. 2. There's virtually no downside to any type of braces as a teen: Do braces make you feel awkward? Probably, but so do crooked teeth. Do they hurt? Yes, but not as much as they will later if you don't get them. Do people like to kiss metal mouths? Maybe not, but high school relationship prospects are generally garbage anyways. Basically, I'd say, at any age - if you have good insurance and you can afford to get your teeth done right, I bet Dr. Kunik would do a bang up job. My insurance was terrible, and I wanted extra money on hand for fun things you want in your 20s (like a 401K, or a down payment on a convertible). Personally, I ended up going elsewhere. I saved like, $500-1,000, which (as Dr. Kunik will tell you, and I would tend to agree) is very little if you think of this as a lifetime investment. Is it worth it? That's a personal choice. My opinion is, regardless of where you go, seriously consider the treatment you can afford that is best for the long term.

Straightening my teeth with Invisalign wasn't terribly complicated, but getting me settled in a retainer after my treatment was complete was kind of dicey. I needed him to adjust it so my bite at night was neutral -- long story, but it has to do with being able to breathe when I'm sleeping (no clenching on back molars.) My request was kind of new to him, but he kindly and patiently listened to me and said, "I'm going to trust that you know what your body needs." And then he worked with me for close to an hour to adjust the bite on my retainer! I never once felt like he was exasperated. He truly won't rest until his patients are comfortable and happy. But Dr. Henry has also done something that so many others haven't: he's gathered a team of gifted, deeply dedicated support staff that made all the difference for me. This practice has several offices and he serves people in many locations. But when I needed something and he wasn't in the office, Val took exceptional care of me. Every single time I had a question or concern, I knew she was going to talk to Dr. Henry about it and together, they would find the best solution for me. What an incredible team they are! At my next to last visit, Val told me she would carefully explain our conversation to him, and when she did, he had the confidence to move forward with her recommendations. And guess what? It resulted in my getting e-x-a-c-t-l-y what I needed. Every single night I am grateful for my custom-made retainer because I can SLEEP. Bottom line: rest assured Dr. Henry has your back, and that his staff (especially Val) is not only highly skilled, but they also extend his generosity of spirit even when he's not there. I wish every medical and dental practice took such great care of their patients.

They explained everything really well, and I didn't feel like I was being sold a used car (as was my experience elsewhere). They were very understanding that we are only concerned about alleviating crowding to make room for adult teeth, and will wait and see if further orthodontia is needed later. We have had no issues with her expander during the treatment. The desk people were very patient and helpful with the first use of my FSA card, which I had my doubts about. Billing is clear and simple. Appointment scheduling is also easy, and they provide just the right number of reminders. I didn't feel like I had to fill out too many forms, always a plus. We accidentally showed up a day early for one checkup, and they squeezed us in since we were already there. Appointments always run on time. Best of all, my daughter's teeth look adequately spaced now! It's like magic!
