I've lived in Arlington Heights for almost 25 years and I've never been to Pedro's. First time today, ordered a 10" pizza. If we were in any other city except Chicago, where there are excellent pizza options on every block, I would give Pedro's 4 stars. I dropped by to pick up a pepperoni pizza (3/5), and the ambiance is good. Tiny eat in option with 2 or 3 tables. The crust (4/5) is quite good, and the sauce (2/5) was ok, thin, not memorable, and the cheese was good (3/5). Recommended. read more

It's a very small place with just a few tables that does mostly takeout and delivery. I was visiting from out of town and badly wanted stuffed pizza ala Eduardo's or Giordano's. Pedro's stuffed was not nearly as good but at least it was inexpensive: $16.00 including tax for a small with 2 toppings. The staff was very nice which enhanced the experience. read more

Ok so here's the deal I very rarely take the time to write reviews but damn this place has hands down the best tacos pastor I've ever had. From the outside this place doesn't look like the type of place that has good food but boy was I surprised when my husband and I ordered from here. Not only are the tacos good the pizza is delicious! A great place for steak and pastor street tacos! We tried the quesadillas and sopes as well. This place has offered fast delivery and our orders have been accurate to date. The price is reasonable and they offer up a slice of nice quality. Their pizza is good but we really like the tacos. Be prepared the tacos are small so order appropriately. read more

I was scrolling yelp in an area I don't norrmally order take out in. I drive delivery so sometimes I go to at read I'm not as familiar with and decide to try something. Pedros has four stars but the pizza looked like it would be good. It was better than I had hoped. I had small regular crust pepperoni sausage Canadian bacOn garlic olive aNd oniOn. Yummy. Made a grubhub order for pickup. Only positive was that the food was ready on time. It was possibly the worst food we've gotten from anywhere in the area. The fries and onion rings were soggy and tasteless. The ravioli was dry on the inside-- HOW is that possible?! And the Chicken Parm was overcooked and burned. Here's the skinny. Nonno's is exceptionally more than what it should/could be expected to be. Microscopic seating area, walk up concession style counter, tiny place. Where else though will you find phenomenal authentic tacos for $1.50 (chorizo or steak), a 10" pizza for $7 that will truly truly full you up. Open the latest around, friendly behind the counter, otp ordering or online both pickup or delivery @ 2am, additional options similar to 'mugs pizza' (i,e pasta, salad, sandwiches the list goes on) 10/10, would recommend to a friend, will go again. My brother in law told us about a place that had amazing tacos cheap authentic Mexican street tacos.....so we stopped by....we just live up the street.....first thing the older guy who greets you is super nice and friendly...you can tell it's a family working here...we felt at home....its tiny like 4 or 5 tables...anyways these tacos were the best I've ever had in Illinois....and the Salas roja y Verde were perfect...these are the baby street tacos u find in Mexico or the west coast...they all come with cebolla and cilantro as well and a few lime wedges...they made it simple for us and gave two options for meat asada and al pastor...we got both...my husband loved them we all did the asada was super tender not full of gristle and fat...the tortillas are slightly fried so they're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside 1.65 I think cheap ...hands down best tacos in Palatine!! They still do all the other stuff that nonos had hence the Pedro's pizza...it should be Pedro's tacos....lol I got the quesadilla de asada im eating the rest of it now and im very pleased the salsas taste like west coast salsa. We ordered one large jalapeño/pep pizza and one sausage stuffed pizza. The total cost was around $30. That's a pretty great price for what we got. The pizza was well prepared, loaded with toppings, and the sauce was okay (not amazing). Overall the food was above what I had expected and would have been deserving of five stars, however, the fiasco that was coordinating its delivery was anything but five star. It took 70min for our food to arrive (we had been told it would take 30) and once it had been "delivered" I had to talk the delivery driver through a half mile of city driving to get to my address. The pizza was surprisingly still very good when arrived, though that might have been at least in part due to the hunger-driven madness we were all in at that point. I'd definitely give them another try, but I'll probably do pickup next time. read more

Almost 2 1/2 hours to deliver our order and we live less than 5 miles away. When we called, the place was so noisy on the other end we asked the lady who answered to repeat our order and it was clear she could care less what we ordered. We called after the first hour and was given a canned "on our way" answer. After the second hour the guy who answered asked for our address and seemed to not understand we had already placed an order. Once that was explained and understood he assured us our food was already on it's way. Naturally what we ordered and what we got were two different things. The funny part, after talking to the second person we just ordered from somebody else and finished out food before these guys arrived. Waste of time, money, and effort. Okay so I usually give out 5's like Oprah gives away vacuums or whatever, but I honestly had a bad delivery experience! It took an hour to deliver (which was fine! it said est: 45-60 mins), but the delivery driver called me and told me she had arrived. I checked outside and she did not! She then argued with me that she was here.. FACEPALM. She spoke spanish, and didn't even have the 2 liter of coke I ordered. So anyways I figured out where she was and she couldnt take directions over the phone. I had to walk half a mile to get to where she was in my pajamas. Let me start off by saying I actually set up a Yelp account just to post this review; that's how awful my experience with this establishment was. My intent isn't to arbitrarily flame a local business just to be vindictive. I genuinely want to ensure other consumers have an opportunity to make an educated decision before spending their money on what could turn out to be a great disappointment. I placed my order on GrubHub (it was the Sunday night before Memorial Day), and that went smoothly enough. The order wasn't overly complex or massive in quantity: two sandwiches, an order of onion rings, and an order of hot wings. The price, including tax, was very reasonable. The estimated delivery time was approximately 60 minutes, and to be fair, the order was received within the given timeframe. Well, half of the order anyway. Half of the order was missing; it was never delivered. We received one sandwich and the order of onion rings, however the other sandwich and hot wings were not delivered. Upon discovering only half of the contents packaged in the bag, I quickly ran out to catch the delivery driver prior to her departure. Fortunately, she had not left yet and I was able to relate to her that half of the order was missing. She wasn't particularly apologetic; though she did admit that the bag she handed me appeared to be pretty small for what I had paid her for. She advised she would call her boss and tell him that we had been shorted half of our order. Fearing that something may be lost in translation, I decided to place a follow up phone call to the business. I spoke with a gentlemen who was pretty polite, and seemed aware of my situation before I even started to explain it. He had clearly been given the heads up by the delivery driver; which initially pleased me... that is until some sort of internal blame game commenced. The gentlemen I spoke with on the phone advised me that the delivery driver had forgotten the bag containing the other half of our order in her car, and she would return to my residence in twenty minutes to drop it off. I found that to be a dubious claim, as she had backed out of my driveway only a few minutes prior to my placing the follow up phone call. Suddenly she was now twenty minutes away with the other half of the order? Not to mention she seemed fairly confident that the rest of my order was not in her vehicle when I initially ran out to tell her that half of our contents were missing. I could tell the gentlemen on the phone was trying to pacify me as best he could; which is understandable. Things tend to get awkward when mistakes are made and customers become unhappy; and people are particularly unhappy when they're hungry and waiting on their order. He gave me something of a run around and ill thought out lip service, which may have been at the direction of his manager. My best guess is they had to completely remake the other half of our order, as the driver may have accidentally handed the second bag associated with our order to another customer in error. Despite being lied to and mildly annoyed; I tried to give the business the benefit of the doubt. I was promised the remainder of our food in twenty minutes. Forty minutes later, we got the other sandwich and wings. The driver, the same lady who delivered the first half of the order, was smug and didn't apologize at all. In fact, she didn't even look me in the eye. Oddly enough, I initiated our second encounter with "sorry things happened this way", actually feeling sorry that she had to make a second trip. She more or less grunted at me, handed me the bag of food, and walked away. As if that didn't leave a bad enough taste in my mouth, please look at the attached pictures of the cheesy beef we got after waiting a total of nearly two hours from when the order was originally placed. It was so sloppy and poorly packaged I actually thought it may be have been done intentionally. To be fair and not overly critical, the hot wings were very good. I don't know if this was a fluke, but the customer service was undoubtedly substandard. The food was decent, and the price was right. Place your order with caution though. read more

Disappointed with the thick crust pizza! Crust was very close to thin.... Ordered delivery for dinner, and I got a text on my phone saying that the place is extremely busy. Very understandable. So, I waited almost two hours for my food to get delivered to only find out not only was my pizza cold, and the crust was nowhere near thick... But, my mozzarella sticks that I always order here, we're extremely soggy and cold. If I wait near two hours for a delivery, my food sure as hell better not be cold. This place just went under new management, and they are already messing up. I don't know if it was just a bad day for them, but that food was disgusting. read more

Ordered from Grubhub at 1030 PM. Was told order would arrive at 1110. Was updated that it would arrive at 1130, running late. It got to Midnight, no food still, no update. Grubhub "service" reps told me it was 5-7 mins out. 15 mins later, no call, no show. 30 mins later and they said they now couldn't reach anyone there and had no explanation but was on the way, running late. So, Nonno's is solid, affordable, and OPEN LATE. I ordered when all my standards were closed, and it still came out great. We stay at the Red Carpet Inn, just behind this place pretty often so we order in all the time. Nonno's makes the BEST pizza ever! The thin crust is light but with a good "tooth" to it. The sauce is not too heavy or overwhelming. The sausage is nicely seasoned and not greasy. Best of all, they don't skimp on the cheese! The prices are incredibly reasonable. A large cheese & sausage with a can of pop and a 2 litre cost under $20.00!! read more

This place has 4.5 stars elsewhere and I would say that's pretty accurate. We decided to eat in. Dining area is pretty rough with some beat up chairs. However it was well worth moving past the decore. The tacos are fantastic. Plenty of meat, onion and cilantro on a just right tortilla. We got a stuffed half pepperoni half sausage pizza. Service was fast and courteous. Pizza had a perfectly cooked crust and a healthy dose of toppings. Delicious. Only docked one star for the decore but it does appear to be primarily a takeout/delivery joint. Would recommend! read more

They are in a little run-down fake strip mall so they can be hard to find for some people. However, I have no idea in the world about some of these other reviews. I was about to return to the store to wonder why they gave me a cheese pizza when I ordered shrimp. Since I was sitting in the car waiting for someone to come back at the time, I eventually noticed ONE TINY shrimp on one of the pieces and so I pulled up the cheese of the piece that was closest to me... okay, there was technically a shrimp on there. So I am just "assuming" that there is shrimp sprinkled throughout the rest of the pizza, you cannot taste it all, so basically it seems not worth it to order an toppings if you go here, and the ONLY possible reason for going being because they cost less then other places... like a homeless vegan going to McDonald's. It is possible that there is technically an almost-reasonable amount of shrimp on the pizza, but there is nothing in the experience of eating the pizza that tastes or has a texture of shrimp. The cheesy garlic bread however is REALLY GOOD, it tastes like metal (the literal metal,such as copper and steel, not some metaphor for people who use "metal" as an adjective). Right after finishing that paragraph and about to post, I picked up another piece, this one piece *does* taste like some shrimp... but still that's one out of four pieces, so it seems like the toppings are low. The pizza in general (sauce, crust, etc.) is not AMAZING like Nancy's corporate, but is good, not cardboardy or glue-y or anything. Nothing special about this place but if you're homeless or poor or using a Seamless promotion then it's good for that... minus the low amount of toppings, of course. Also delivery is NOT free.
