I've reviewed the pizza and other dishes previously, but this is specifically for the new pastries! Apparently the owner bakes their own pazckis! And wowee wow these are hefty buns! I didn't expect these to be so good from a pizza place, but I am pleasantly surprised. The flavors are so unique, and done so well! Seriously, these pazckis stuffed to the brim with delicious, creamy filling. What we got: Pistachio cream - Soooo surprising! Super nutty and not as sweet as I was expecting. Usually pistachio flavored things taste top of tongue sweet, but this was rich, creamy, and deeply nutty. And holy cow the filling! Super generous and just gushing out! Biscoff - Again not too sweet! So good and such a fun flavor that you don't normally see. Their cookies are chewy and had a unique touch: the oatmeal raisin is dipped in espresso, though I think the raisin doesn't quite match, and the chocolate chip is made with browned butter, which gives a richness and deeper flavor that cuts the sweetness of the milk chocolate chips. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place! We have established "Pizza Bella Fridays" and my kids count down every week. The food is great, the atmosphere can't be replicated but the staff and service is what makes it what it is. We look forward to Fridays here with the kids but also enjoy coming on date night. After a night out shopping, we decided to order from one of favorite pizza places, Pizza Bella in Palatine, IL. They are located in the downtown area. You can dine in but decided to get take out. Online ordering was very easy. Pickup time was on point. The food practically came out of the oven to our hands. Staff were friendly. We ordered the following: Toasted Ravioli, Cheesy Breadsticks for appetizers. Detroit Stlye Pizza - half cheese and half Green Peppers and Onions, Large Chicago Style Thin Sausage, Korean Style Chicken Wings, Minestrone Soup, and Bolognese Spaghetti. Toasted Ravioli has a nice crisp and taste, filled with cheese. The Cheesy Breadsticks were ok, it could have used some butter or seasoning on it. The soup came in and was filled with veggies and the soup hit the spot on a cold night. The wings were good and not overdone, the sauce was good but not great which is what we expected in ordering Korean wings at an Italian pizza joint. The Bolognese Spaghetti was saucy, cheesy and baked. The ground meat was good and tangy. They also add some shredded beef which is a little different that we are used to. On to the main event. They do a Detroit Pizza really well. The sauce is sweet, the dough has that crisp and softness to it and the burnt cheese edges - yum! The thin crust crunchy and cooked to perfection. Pizza is so good, I had to stop my family wouldn't get any. lol. If you are in the area and want some really good pizza, stop by Pizza Bella, a Palatine staple. read more

This place is amazing. The pizza is a perfect thin crust. We called ahead and talked to Tina. She took out order and the pizzas were on the table when we got there at 9:15pm just fantastic. We were able to have our party and still, relax afterward. The wait staff took care of our every need. I would highly recommend Pizza Bella. Great restaurant to sit inside or call for pickup. We enjoyed sitting outside on a warm summer day and ordered a mixed green salad that is enough for at least 3 people, toasted ravioli, and topped with The Papa pizza. The Papa is Italian Beef, garlic, and hot giardiniera. The giardiniera is truly spicy, so if you don't like it, get something else. The crust was perfect and it wasn't greasy at all. The portion of the salad was enough for a full table of 3 or 4, honestly. The location in downtown Palatine is new, and now they have seating indoor and out. It's really nice and inviting. They also have other Italian dishes. Honestly, the photos online doesn't do it any service. The food looks so much nicer in real time. I saw folks order dinner entrees and thought to myself how I have to order an entree next time. They're also known for their Detroit style pizza, so I'll get that next time. First time at Pizza Bella since the move to downtown Palatine. Friday night, the restaurant was packed and doing a brisk carry out business. We were seated immediately, but had a bit of a wait for our server. Not a big deal though. Our server brought us drinks and bread. I ordered the soup of the day, Italian wedding soup. It was very good. I'd order it again. There are several choices of crust for pizza. We chose the thin crust which was thin and crispy and I loved. My husband prefers a chewier crust, so we'll accommodate him next time. The food was great. I am looking forward to going back. My only real criticism was the noise level. We starting getting pizza from them when they were in a different location and only carryout. Since the move to downtown Palatine, they've expanded the menu and have both inside seating and outside. I'm writing this in February and strangely enough, no one is sitting outside. There's small plate shareables which are great for eating there while you wait for your pizza. The Detroit style pizza was fantastic. The sauce was wonderful and the crispy cheese crust was so crunchy and delicious. We got ours with pepperoni and they were very generous with amount on top. Good service and decor. Very casual and friendly. Our Caesar salad was also very good, although not a traditional Caesar. The kids enjoyed their chicken strips and fries. My only constructive feedback is that they probably don't need to include the garlic puree as an addition to the complimentary breadbasket. It didn't add much, save the garlic. read more

We've been going to Pizza Bella for a couple years now and their pizza has always been great. Unfortunately the last time we went, I bit down and hit something that felt really hard inside my pizza, at first I thought it was a bone but when I took a closer look it was a screw. A metal screw had been baked inside the dough of our pizza. Luckily I didn't break my tooth on it. After this I had to call the pizzeria, I had to wait a couple days until they opened because they don't have any other contact info besides the restaurant number. Once I got a hold of the manager Liz she seemed very apologetic, told us to send pictures and they would get it figured out. We sent the pictures and heard nothing, so I called again the next week. On this phone call I mentioned that the most reasonable thing would be to get a refund on this pizza since there was a screw in it, this is where she started to insinuate we put the screw in the pizza. She continued talking about how they checked their kitchen and no screws were missing and that they triple check the quality of their pizza. Obviously they don't check the quality because a metal screw showed up (and it wasn't from my house because we checked as well - we also didn't bake the pizza, they did). After this conversation she said this was a complicated issue and she would have to check with the boss regarding a refund. She said she'd call us back, she didn't so now we're here. I didn't want to make a negative review because we'd like to go back and eat there but.. the way this was handled was very disappointing. So if you get a pizza from here, double check that it has no screws in it. read more

I walked in here at 8pm on a Friday night with a dozen guys and no reservation and had a fantastic experience. The staff wasn't frustrated at all and had us seated within about 15min. We had heard that they import their flour from Italy and man can you tell the difference. I think I heard every guy say that it was some of the best pizza they've ever had. The whole place was very clean from the kitchen you can see into too the bathroom with the fantastic hand towels. The dining was well lite, decorated but not cluttered and not too loud. Our waitress was attentive and easy to flag down if there was something we needed. Will definitely be making a point to come here more often and not just because the pasties and Affogato. read more

up until today my experience has been good for more than 10 years. I ordered a Calzone with sausage and mushrooms . each ingredient is extra charge but the base price in the menu is oddly $13.04 when I picked up my order the base price was $15.64. I questioned this to the rude guy taking my cash money. he said "when suppliers charge us more we charge more" that's just the way it is. well let be honest here prices here are already expensive compared. We were excited to try this place for the first time, but what a COMPLETE DISASTER. We called ahead and placed a pickup order, then drove 30 minutes to get there--only to find out that our order was never even sent to the kitchen. Seriously?! Instead of taking responsibility, the staff kept asking us who we spoke to on the phone--how the hell are we supposed to know that?! Then they kept questioning when we placed the order, like that somehow changed the fact that they completely screwed up. Their solution? "Oh, sorry, it'll be another 30-40 minutes, or we can deliver it to your house if you don't want to wait." Are you kidding?! No offer to comp the food, no real apology, just a half-hearted excuse. We loved Pizza Bella when they were at their previous location and would order carry out a few times per month. Since they moved the overall food quality has gone downhill and every order we have made has gotten progressively worse (our pasta was cold). To top it all off, they now have an AI answering service taking orders - we wanted to order fettuccine and it kept telling us they don't have feta. We really hope it is all just getting situated in the new location, because they were great, so we're not entirely giving up on them yet. read more

Crazy burnt edges that I couldn't even bite into and so salty that all the other flavors disappeared. I came across this restaurant through their Instagram page. I liked what I saw and decided to order their Detroit style pizza as on Wednesdays they have a special on their 14" Detroit style pan pizza which is $9.49 for a cheese pizza. That's a great deal as normally Detroit style pan pizzas are pricey and their regular price is $16.49. I got my pizza with pepperoni. I placed my order and paid for it over the phone and had curbside pick-up at their restaurant. The pizza was delicious. It was flavorful and kind of reminded me of the pizza I had at Buddy's (famous Detroit institution) in Ann Arbor, MI. Their 10" x 14" is a good pizza size so there was plenty of it and besides, it was thick since it's a pan pizza. I liked everything about the pizza except that it was a bit on the salty side. Both my wife and I agreed on that. However, everything else from the crust to the amount of cheese and the flavor of the sauce and pepperoni, the pizza was darn delicious. Now that I have tried their Detroit style pizza, next time I want to their Chicago deep dish as well as stuffed crust pizzas I think this place is a must try for any pizza fan. I've been ordering pizza for my kids here for over 15 years. They've recently changed their sausage and it's SUPER spicy. When I called to inquire about this change, the "manager" 'Jose' (who clearly wasn't actually the manager because I was already told that "she was too busy to take my call") told me there was nothing they could do for me and I was out of luck. I asked for a credit for next time, he said no and hung up on me. I'm just disgusted at this level of customer service for a business who has been a staple in this community for our kids for years. I like the look of the new restaurant. We were two on a Saturday early evening. They were starting to get crowded. About half full inside. We were seated at a high top that was one chair and one long wooden bench. Our feet kept slipping off of the slim metal foot rail and bench was hard. I ordered a creme limoncello drink that was delicious. I had the lemon chicken which was very good. My friend ordered the "caprese" salad. Just know that if you are expecting the typical salad with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and balsamic glaze, this is not that kind of salad. It had big chunks of cucumber, tomato mozzarella. However there was no basil or balsamic glaze which was rather bland and more like a basic cucumber and tomato salad. We had the Marinara and mostaccioli dinner. The sauce seemed thin and a little bland. It would benefit from some crushed tomatoes and oregano. We will return and try their pizzas next time. read more

First time we ordered from here based on the reviews and new to the area. I ordered a chopped salad and was very disappointed. The lettuce in the salad was bad-old, brown and I had to pick through it to throw stuff away. Everything in the salad looked wilted and old and very wet without the dressing. New place in Palatine that moved into the old hardware store we knew growing up. Expecting a lot, I guess. Full but not crowded, but very Loud. Hard to talk to people at our table. I feel it needs much better acoustics . We were there on a Thursday night. Party of five- Got a table quickly. No server showed up till we asked. One of a our party had already gone to the bar to get our own drinks. Took a while for them to come take our food order, also. Received no extra napkins with the pizza( had to ask). I had really good wings, but my salad came without an extra I asked for. Again we had to remind and ask. A one minute item took at least 5, with a "someone is going to get that for you" as she walked by. My table mates said the Detroit pizza was ok. Very filling! This server was responsible for tables inside and outside,which really wasn't working. You look up and can't find your server anywhere and then realize they were outside. I feel separate inside and outside servers would help your customers feel noticed. Hopefully as their time here extends, these issues will get worked out. read more
