Sunday morning, heading home from Baltimore after the Springboks vs All Blacks match. Needed real fuel and stopped at Peet Stafford. Food: bacon-and-egg sandwiches and bagels that actually delivered. We cleaned the plates. Coffee was proper. Service: friendly staff, fast, no fuss. Restroom was spotless. Ambiance: cozy little stop, plants everywhere, easy place to sit and reset after the drive. Three of us went for lunch here for the first and last time on a Tuesday. There was one couple already eating. No one was at the counter in front of us. The young woman at the till didn't greet us or interact with us. Do we seat ourselves? Order at the counter? No direction from the woman. When we finally figured out we were supposed to order at the counter, "Ms. Personality" acted like we were bothering her as we ordered burgers, bags of chips, and drinks from the cooler. All three of us asked for no cheese. It took an inordinately long time to get the burgers. The very sweet grill cook delivered them. Two of us felt bad for her and did not return the burgers that came with cheese. The third person in the party did. She (very good-naturedly) returned to the grill, where a loud, whispered discussion ensued about whether we had asked for cheese. My friend and I ate the burgers. They were generic frozen patties, not ground beef. Considering the price, this was not only disappointing, but outrageous. Ms. Personality apparently clocked out while we waited for our food, so maybe she was ready to leave when we came in. As she was leaving, we noticed she wore a T-shirt that said something about "a$$holes." Not exactly customer-service-oriented or professional. Between the attitude, food quality, price, and wait time, go across the road (literally) to Widewater Grille unless it's a Monday or Tuesday when they are closed. (The French toast is HEAVEN!) In that case, just drive another 8 minutes into Garrisonville and go to Chili's. Or Five Guys. Or McDonald's. Much more worth the time and money. Cross-posting. read more

What a cute place on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere! Barista was very friendly. Sandwich was good, but one piece of the croissant was burnt and I couldn't eat it. My friend's order never went to the back, so I was done eating before she even got hers. Coffee is super strong. It's good, just not to my liking. Prices are pretty high. It was $16 for a sandwich and iced coffee without a tip. Try it out if you pass it by! read more

Such a quaint little place. Shared amazing coffee! The breakfast sandwiches are fresh. Lox everything bagel was amazing! The everything bagel with pesto, avocado & tomato was super fresh. Steak and cheese bagel was seasoned well on a hot toasted bagel hit the spot! Will definitely be back. Saw a couple people doing some computer work and relaxing with a warm tea or coffee. Stopped at Peet Stafford for some caffeine. Ordered a large cold brew with Half n' Half. Drink came up quickly and was strong and tasty! Got the ole neurons firing! The inside is small and cozy. There is not a lot of interior seating. There is a combination of a few tables and chairs, along with a rail/countertop along the front window for some additional seating. They have one annoying issue with the space - the front door has a tendency to get stuck open. It's been really cold out - I had to get up 3 times to close the door - as others lacked the self awareness to know they left the door hanging open. I got up 3 times to close the door so as to not let all the warm air out. I finally got tired of doing that - and decided to work elsewhere. They offer free WiFi. Service was good. We decided to treat ourselves to a quick breakfast before running our errands. We had never been to Peet Stafford before but we had seen it reviewed and heard from friends it was good. I got a "couture" vanilla latte and Jeff got the "Black Tie". The cafe vibe is clean and open with natural inspired decor and a minimalist look. I liked it. I'm a celiac and I asked what could be prepared gluten free. The answer was sides such as eggs and bacon or any of the sandwiches could be accommodated to exclude bread. The barista was extremely nice. The person who delivered our food was very kind. The food was prepared pretty quickly and tasted delicious. My latte was perfect. Jeff's coffee was good albeit a bit bitter. If you like a bite in your coffee it will be exactly what you're looking for. Every part of our visit was nice. There was even a cute live turtle pond outside. He was fast (for a turtle) I couldn't get a picture of him. The amount of bend during use made it difficult to eat from. The price for both Jeff and I to get a specialty coffee and breakfast was less than $30 and that's about $20 cheaper than other local breakfast places for a similar order. The only thing that I feel could be improved would be the quality of the plastic cutlery. Considering Peet mostly sells hand held food items, this won't be a problem for most customers. I would definitely recommend this cute local cafe. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews, but I couldn't help but feel really sad after leaving Peet Stafford. The menu is good and tasty, but the unkempt nature of their turtle pond left a bad taste in my mouth. The pond water was extremely dirty and the space is too small for the three turtles that live there. As much as I hate to judge a business off of something non service related, their showcasing of animal neglect needs to be fixed. read more

Stopped in for an iced coffee and to warm up along my travel route today. This place is super cute, has delightful music and smells amazing!!! The ambiance is so quaint and homey, there is a nook for literally everyone! I took a seat at the high tables in the back near the kid's corner, there are games to entertain everyone. I busied myself and a neighbor of mine with a game of chess as we waited for our drinks. I'm partial to an iced honey lavender latte here (since they make their own lavender syrup omg!!) but my partner enjoyed a decaf hot americano with some cream. Simple but effective. Great spot for coffee and food. Love meeting up with friends here and also coming to study/ get some work done. The food is simple but good and comes out quickly. The drinks are yummy. Unfortunately they were out of nitro cold brew when we went (my husband's preferred drink), so we went with the regular cold brew instead and it was good! Smooth and delicious. I got an iced vanilla chai latte and really enjoyed it. They make their chai using a concentrate which is way better than the powders I sometimes see other spots use. The baristas are always friendly and professional too. The inside is a little eclectic and has live plants growing all over too. There are games to play while you're hanging out as well. I rarely get to this area of Stafford, so when nearby one day I stopped in here for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The ladies working were friendly, helpful, and quick to whip up my breakfast! The building is a bit camouflaged, and you might miss it driving by. However, they have delicious breakfast sandwiches, a proper cup of coffee, are quick and friendly. While I was in a hurry, it was a nice enough place that I had to just sit down and enjoy the experience. My faaaaave! Peet's beats Sbux any day, also because I'm from the Bay Area. I love this spot. Probably my most visited coffee shop every time I'm in town or passing through. The food and coffee are great! My usual is a sausage, egg and cheese croissant with either a matcha latte (almond milk) or whatever coffee I'm in the mood for that day. On the days that I can't hang out, sometimes I call ahead for pickup, which is nice. The owner and staff are always friendly as well, and they make some good recommendations.
