1 Star Worse than a 1-star experience. The cashier seemed unable to handle a simple cash transaction and was not paying attention. My order was a medium coffee and a $3.99 energy shot, totaling $8.15. I handed her a $20 bill. She initially gave me only $1.85 in change. When I pointed out the mistake, she insisted that I had given her a $10 bill. She then called a manager for assistance, but the situation became even more confusing when she returned $9 in change, which was still incorrect. At that point, I simply asked for my original $20 bill back because I had lost confidence in the transaction. Instead of acknowledging the error, she accused me of being rude and discussed the situation with other customers waiting in line. Everyone can make mistakes, but basic cash handling, attention to detail, and professional customer service are essential. The issue was not the mistake itself--it was the refusal to recognize it and the unprofessional way the situation was handled. This experience was frustrating and disappointing. read more

I've never been a huge fan of Peet's, but I decided to give it another try. I ordered an iced matcha latte. The staff was friendly, but the drink took quite a while to come out, especially considering the store wasn't very busy. I think mobile orders were being prioritized, so you might have better luck ordering ahead and then coming in to pick it up. The matcha was decent, but nothing special. It was pretty milky and a really light green color, so it didn't taste super authentic. I don't think I'd order it again, but I'd be willing to try something else from the menu. I liked the ambiance. There's plenty of seating, and it seems like a nice place to get some work done or hang out! read more

I've never been a Peet's girl in the past, but this visit has changed me! I got a whole milk latte with 2 pumps of hazelnut. A medium normally comes with 4 but honestly next time- I'd just ask for 1. It was smooth, creamy, and hit the spot. I also loved the turkey and egg white sandwich. It was spongey, soft, filling, and low calorie! Would definitely get both again. It was a lot more crowded than I expected and obviously a popular meeting spot for the community. I'll definitely stop by again but do wish that Peet's carried soy milk as an alternative milk option- I was surprised that wasn't available. read more

The shift manager on duty today was very rude to me. I accidentally placed a mobile order at a location in the next city and one of the baristas kindly offered to make my drink there. He asked me to contact the other location to let them know I would be picking up my order in Dublin instead of Pleasanton. The shift manager came up to me and said, I just want to let you know next time we won't do this for you and you will need to go to the other location where you ordered. What an assumption that I requested for them to make my drink there. I was offered and when I told her that the barista offered and that I didn't ask, she just walked away. So rude and unprofessional. Disappointing but definitely didn't ruin my day. I tipped the barista 20% for his kindness and wished them a good day. Definitely won't be back. Hope the manager has a better day than she was having when I walked in and hope she doesn't continue to treat people like this. read more

I was using my app, and it took a few more steps, the two ladies at the cashier was so patient. Ambiance was nice: I have not been inside after the renovation. Good location but the volume detracts from the speed. 10 min for a regular coffee ordered via app is a bit slow.

Edit: I understand it may be frowned upon to try to order a coffee 5 minutes before a cafe closes but I think a helpful way to avoid issues (like if u want your employees to get to go home early to spend time for the holidays and get well deserved rest) is to have a consistent message or closing policy that is communicated or posted for customers. For example: Like last call is 15minutes before kitchen closes etc .. something like that may help manage expectations. Thank you! .......................................... Either open a second cashier or have the person buying beans talk about it at the side and only get back into line when he is ready to pay instead of holding up the entire line of people trying to order drinks. Only to process the beans order.. and then woops the line hog took too long and now it's past 4pm. ++Fyi on this day 4pm orders for drinks from coffee machine were turned away. But cashier was still available to ring up stuff like beans after 4. So thats why I said maybe better to process the drinks first and have the merchandise person go to the side or checkout on the side with dedicated staff like store manager if not ready to check out. read more

My current obsession is a Hot Pumpkin Chai Latte.. 1 pump for a medium vs 4 pumps as it makes it way too sweet! I've been ordering here for the last 2 weeks straight and my wallet keeps telling me to calm down, but it's totally worth the $6.45 lol! Wow this is a nice Peet's! Easy parking in the plaza and you can order ahead online for pick up. Ordering online is definitely the way to go especially on a busy Saturday morning. Even with the online order, we arrived at the estimated ready time and still had to wait about 5-10 minutes. I even heard one of the staff tell another customer "oh yeah, sometimes it tells you it's ready but it's actually not" lol ok. Still, on a less busy day, I'm sure this is a great place to get some work done because they've got plenty of tables available. It won't be a quiet environment since there's lots of people going in and out. Coffee wise - pretty consistent with other Peet's I've been to. My current seasonal fave is the Derby (their nod to a classic Irish coffee). I also had the holiday spice latte and it's good but very spice-y. read more

At this location, the "store manager" said this is not possible and I have to pay full price for the drip coffee. Well, good luck to you, and thanks for not rewarding a purchase that is more than twice the cost of drip coffee. You clearly failed at doing good business. A pretty convenient location with lots of seating for their cafe! It was very easy to order and our drinks were made in a decent amount of time. It was an early Friday morning so they were busy, but not overly so. They never called out our names when our drinks were ready so we had to keep going up to check them and when our food was ready they called it from the cash register instead of the pick up area. It was almost impossible to hear them from over there. They finally decided to call out my name after us being there for over 20 minutes to let me know that my food item was out of stock. I agreed to their replacement and it was made quicker than expected previously. While this stop did take longer than we expected we were just happy to get our coffees and some food. read more

My current go-to beverage of choice is a Large Golden Latte with Whole Milk. Hot when it's cold out, Iced when it's warm. Using the Peet's App in combination with discounted Gift Cards purchased from Costco, life is a breeze. Order by app, drive up, walk in, go to the pick-up area and grab my drink. When the store is busy, there's no employee interaction. When it's slow, I usually get a "thank you!". Some guests are sitting and working. Others are chatting. I stand around until my drink is ready and then leave, no fuss, no muss. I wish that it were practical for Peet's to stay open later. Most are closed by 7:00pm and I can drink coffee all day without it affecting my sleep. read more

They recently did an interior remodeling. Coffee here is always Good. I gave it only 3 stars because we experienced very slow service at around 5:30pm today. I was 3rd in line but I waited about 15 minutes before it was my turn to order. There was a cashier and only one asian guy making the drinks. The 3 stars are for the acoustics. Ever since the remodel, the acoustics have made it very difficult to carry on a conversation with your friends if you want to sit inside. The seating is nice & bright inside + the wall paper of individuals with their cup of Peet's looks nice as does the coffee bean wallpaper in the restrooms. Two restrooms at this location and they are kept clean. The service & drinks have always been great. Friendly baristas & if I end up choosing a drip they always let me know it will be a few minutes if they need to make a fresh brew. Oat milk Chai lattes, Oat milk ice lattes, & the Iced Herbal Tea are my other go-to's. For vegans that want an extra treat they usually have a vegan Guittard Chocolate Brownie. read more

One of my crew even remembers the original Peet's in Berkeley near the Claramont Hotel .... now that's going waaay back like almost 50 years! Now Peet's is a big chain, but still better than the other big chain. This Dublin location is good, as is the service. All I get is regular black coffee and I'm set. Ok let's start off by saying, I love Peet's Coffee. But it was very discouraging how I always order my Large Half Cold Brew and Half Black Tea with 5 Pumps Of Sugarfree Vanilla in all other locations but this time was not at all a happy day. I ordered at the counter because my drink can never be ordered through the app due to it being a custom half and half drink.. Cecilia had taken my order and my hubby's order. Cecilia has not ever received an order like this so she did not know how to ring it up. She consulted with Ray (another employee there) and he said to ring it up as 2 separate drinks to charge me to separate drinks. I informed her that every location of Peets always rings it up as 1 large cold brew and charge me extra for the extra pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup. Ray said it's because they need to have it counted for inventory and that it's 2 12oz. My hubby and I informed them both that it technically not 24oz because of the ice and the sugar free syrup so it's still equivalent to a 20oz and that is why I'm always charged a Large 20oz either cold brew or black tea. Ray said his manager brought it up to them (employees) Sophia (Manager) about charging 2 separate types of drinks. I know they should really know their math but I saw their employee also throw away some of the drinks since she made it in 2 separate 12oz cups (no ice) as in specifically said I wanted it in a large iced cup with ice and the cold brew and black tea. So end of the day, I ended up paying almost $8 for a drink I never pay more than 6.50 for ever because they couldn't do their math and realize that it's still a 20oz due to ice and syrup. It was not a great experience and disappointed because I previously used to reside in San Ramon and this was my second go to Peet's and they are just not that smart enough to speak with their customers in a respectful manner without lying (Employee: Ray). Cecilia was respectful and apologized. They were also very unorganized and if their manager did speak to them about my drink, then why didn't they know how to make it. Quality coffee at a quality place. Staff was friendly, interior was clean (& COVID conscious), location convenient, and open for outdoor seating. I came around 1:30p on Saturday and the crowd was mild, service quick. I was a bit confused about where the line started for placing an order though when I walked in. The stickers on the floor and layout don't exactly facilitate an intuitive order experience. Also very possible I was distracted and didn't pay close enough attention! Anyway, pictured below is my brother's order (I have no idea what he got), but I got a simple drip coffee.
