BM9. Chay / Vegetarian Special (no mushrooms)

While Relo offers a cozy vibe to enjoy some traditional Vietnamese sandwiches and snacks, it fails to provide a quality banh mi. I ordered the vegetarian banh mi without mushrooms and was incredibly disappointed by how salty and overcooked the tofu was. The tofu was so overcooked that it was hard and chewy. Even the bread was a bit stale. Overall, I'd pass on coming here.

Thank God I found this place! I love Bahn Mis and his place has some excellent albeit limit selection. The sandwiches are fabulous! The combination is spectacular and the head cheese is home made and not mass produced and it has that head cheese taste I love. The Xu Mai is one of the best I have had, not to tomato tasting and tart. It is indeed a great tasting sandwich. The chick is solid...Though I don't see cured pork but they have the crunch one which I am just ok with it. The bread is good and the size is nice and not small. Service is nice and typical so don't expect white glove but there is no rudeness either. The sandwich makes up for it easily. Ambiance is tiny and cafe style but could be improved. It would be nice if it was upgraded a little but that is not what they are gunning for I assume but again the sandwich is to die for and is competitive to ones that my Viet friends have taken me too. Are they better than Cuy Cafe in Milpitas? No, but for my area they are the best one....Lees has the selection but not as tasty and their bread is just ok. Relo does it right with nice hours and quality sandwiches. It is now my go to for Bahn Mi sandwiches in my area!

We were in the area to do some shopping so we decided to grab some lunch relatively nearby. L O C A T I O N Relo Banh Mi & Coffee is located in a plaza next to Blossom Bee. Plenty of parking. I N S I D E It's not a very big place. They do have some seats inside as well as some tables outside. But I feel like this is more of a grab and go spot than an eat inside. M E N U They have a variety of banh mi sandwiches as well as snacks and bowls. They also do have drinks. We opted to get the BM1. Dac Biet - Cold Cut Meats and Pate and the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls. The pate in the banh mi is probably the most flavorful I've ever had. But the cuts of meat were the most tendony I've ever had. Quite hard to chew through. The spring roll was not bad with the grilled pork being the star as it was lemongrass forward and the peanut sauce very good. S E R V I C E We called in our order before driving over and it was almost ready when we got there which was convenient. We paid easily by card. O V E R A L L Not a bad option for banh mi in the Dublin area! I would be curious to see how their drinks are. I would definitely come back to try out more of their menu!

This small restaurant has quite an extensive menu. I was quickly greeted upon arriving and since it was my first time, they were super nice in answering all my questions about their menu. I ordered the grilled pork bahn mi with pate for my husband, a grilled chicken and shrimp bahn mi for myself, chicken wings with mango habanero sauce and an iced banana latte. Their bahn mi is a decent size and both were delicious! Their chicken wings were ok, seemed a bit dry and overcooked but the sauce was good. Their banana latte surprised me. 10/10 for it! It was my favorite thing of all the items I ordered. Since they use fresh banana, it makes a difference. And it wasn't too sweet at all! It complimented well with their coffee. My husband really liked it too and he doesn't even like coffee!

Gee their banh mi is stacked. I've only been here a few times, but I always order BM1: Cold Cut Meats & Pate ($8.45) because I love pate. You can add it extra for 75 cents to any other sandwich. I also love the iced coffees I've tried (all $5.50): the Banana Latte, Pandan Latte, and Cafe Sua Da, which is coffee with condensed milk. I think there are 5 or 6 tables inside with a few more outside, but it seems to be a more grab and go place. I have consistently had friendly and efficient service; I think I waited just under 10 minutes for 3 sandwiches and the staff apologized for the wait. Girl I didn't even wait that long!!

Spring Roll - 2 Pieces (Pork Patty)

We finally got to dine in at Relo! We ordered Banh Mi for takeout a small handful of times, and since the first time, it has been our go-to Banh Mi place for this side of the Bay. This time, we were going to meet our friends here for lunch. We came around 11:30ish and this place has a good amount of foot traffic. There's two tables for parties of 2-4 people outside, and thankfully, we got one of the two tables because we had to park out bikes outside. While waiting for our friends, we started on appetizers first. Between my partner and I, we shared: 1) Spring Rolls with Pork Patty - This comes with two large rolls. It's pretty simple. Includes some veggies, vermicelli, and generous portion of pork patty. I love their Cha Lua the most, but their pork patty meat is second for me. It's very nicely flavored! Between the rolls options, this is my preferred one. The peanut dipping sauce is amazing with this. 2) Fried Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce - There's a mix of drumsticks and wings in here, but their fish sauce with wings were delicious as well. It was steaming when it came out. The fish sauce is boiled down until it's caramelized so you get a slightly gooey coating on each of the chicken pieces. 3) Lemonade Passion Guava - This lemonade flavor was not very lemonade-like. I don't know if it's just because the passion fruit and guava overwhelms the lemonade flavor, or if it's usually more tea like, but it was a not bad either! Between my partner's drink and my drink, I think I preferred his mango smoothie more - his came out a little better than expected. 5) Mango Smoothie - This was a refreshing, sweet smoothie. It's got a really nice mango flavor to it. Nicely blended - no pulps or chunks. We ordered our mains right before our friends arrived and this time we got: 6) Egg Roll - This came out piping hot as well! The outer layer is so nicely crispy. There's a mix of veggies and vermicelli inside (maybe meat also?). It's not overly oily, which I appreciate. 7) Cha Lua Banh Mi - As I said before, Cha Lua is probably my preferred protein for banh mi and their banh mi had never disappoint. I think this may be the fourth of fifth time my partner came here (usually always for takeout), but our first time dining in together. The outer layer of their bread is crunchy, and they give a generous portion of both meat and veggies. 8) Grilled Beef Banh Mi - My partner was looking to try something other than his usual combo Banh Mi today and he said their grilled beef was okay. Not as good as the combo one! All in all, we had a great time here. It's almost like a self serve place so we had very limited interaction with the employees, but the place is clean and quick. I'm interested in trying their coffee next time as well.

Good food and great prices. Everything is made fresh after you order it. Small family run restaurant that serves milk drinks and primarily Vietnamese sandwiches and snacks. There's only a few tables so most of the orders are to go. If I still worked in the area, I'd be coming here often. Their peanut sauce for the spring rolls is very very good. Had to ask for extra sauce because it was so good. We tried the spam masubi which was just ok. I'd say stick with the Vietnamese options. Eggrolls were very good as were the spring rolls.

This place was recommended to me, came by and ordered a few items. The food overall was pretty good. They have decent prices and great customer service as well. Food ratings as follows: Chicken rice bowl 8/10 Bbq pork bánh mí 7.5/10 Bbq chicken bánh mí 8/10 Spam musubi 8/10 Eggs rolls 9/10 I was able to take pics of the bánh mí sandwiches and the eggs roll. The rest was be eaten.

Solid local spot for banh mi and coffee! I ordered for pickup through their website around 10:30am on a Friday and my order was ready in 15 minutes. I brought the goods home to eat. Pickup was easy and it's a small place inside. BM2 Pork: bread was a bit hard but nothing overly bad. Meat was good with some fatty parts. Popcorn Chicken: pieces could have been more meaty. It was fairly small/thin pieces but they had a decent crunch and good amount of salt/seasoning. Mild doesn't have too much spice. Not sure I'd get this again. Pandan Latte: good level of sweetness (regular). Not that much pandan flavor, but there is no weird aftertaste. Coffee tasted good. I wouldn't mind returning if I was craving something local or needed something fast and somewhat light (banh mi and coffee).

    Bm2 banh mi grilled pork

I got the bm2 banh mi grilled pork and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft and crispy and the grilled pork was very flavorful. I also got a Vietnamese coffee and loved the flavor. The coffee was very strong and was nicely balanced with the condensed milk. The service was really great and the cashier was polite and quick. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for great quality Vietnamese sandwich and coffee to grab and go.

It's hard to find decent Vietnamese food in the East Bay, but I was pleasantly surprised when we tried Relo. It's a small, plain, hole in the wall shop that only sells banh mi sandwiches/bowls and drinks. Their sandwich was surprisingly small. Portions are not great here. But the quality and taste was satisfying enough. My 4 stars goes towards the drinks. This was one of the best avocado smoothies I've had. The perfect taste and perfectly creamy, rich, and smooth. The latte was also on point. Very, very good Vietnamese coffee.

Tried the grilled beef banh mi, spring rolls with peanut sauce and the mayo smoothie with coconut milk. They have quaint indoor and outdoor seating. Not a place for large groups. Service was welcoming. The grilled banh mi was good, bread was extra crispy. The beef itself would've benefited from some sort of seasoning. The spring rolls were pretty bland too- just noodles, lettuce, and shrimp was hoping for more flavor there too. Otherwise everything was decent.

Overall, I really enjoyed the food here. The chicken rice was aromatic, flavorful and had a really nice texture to it. The chicken is tender and the thin outer skin has a gelatinous quality to it like a well-prepared Hainanese chicken. Honestly I had no notes on this dish. Hard to improve. I generally avoid roast duck at restaurants because of how fatty it is, but the one here was surprisingly good. While there were a few pieces with a thick section of fat between the skin and the meat, the majority of the pieces had a nice balance. There's a sweet tangy sauce that's included on the side with the duck that I really enjoyed as well. If you're looking for lean duck, you'll probably want to stick with the Chiu Chow marinated duck. Service is pretty minimal here, but our waitress stopped by our table once to refill our waters and to check on how we liked the food. Overall, 4.5 stars rounding up to a 5.

The chicken was cold, not like it had been sitting out, but more like it had just come out of the refrigerator. The peanuts were actually a nice touch and added good flavor and texture. I also liked the ginger sauce they poured over the chicken, but there really wasn't enough of it. I wish they gave extra on the side in a separate container. The side veggies were okay too. It came with cucumbers, quail eggs, and fungus. I ate everything except the fungus. It had a very unique flavor that I just couldn't get into.
