Hands down my favorite coffee EVER! First of all, I LOVE Philz. It's my absolute favorite coffee place of all time! This location is nearest to me and it's so nice because it's at Culver Steps. I love getting my go-to drink then sitting outside or walking around with my friends. Or, I just get it to-go and and head back to wherever i need to be with my favorite drink in my hand. The staff are friendly and nice, willing to adjust the drink if needed without hestitation. I love Philz so much, never gonna change my mind- you'll have to pry my half Tesora-half Philtered Soul from my cold, dead hands. read more

First time at this Philz Coffee location in Culver Blvd. We enjoyed our visit here for some delicious coffee specialty drinks after a delicious lunch on a Saturday late afternoon. Philz Coffee provided both great customer service and yummy specialty coffee drinks. Our party of 6 ordered Mocha Tesora and Tiramisu. Mocha Tesora was really good. It's dark chocolate with caramel cocoa base. It wasn't too sweet. Tiramisu was also good with a tiramisu swirl and cocoa powder on top. This drink is available Iced or Hot. We ordered 2 Iced and 1 Hot. Philz Coffee did not disappoint. Temperature of our specialty drinks were on point. read more

This is one of my stops anytime I'm in Culver City. I've never had an issue with service here. Always been friendly and the drinks are good (didn't grab a pastry this time). It's a small spot like any other Philz, but there are amples of seating options outside. I like how you can customize your drinks. For those who don't know, DECAF is an option. I never saw it listed, but I asked and depending on the drink you get, yes it's an option. Granted, who really wants decaf? People get coffee to wake up. For someone who has to watch their blood pressure, it's good to know it's an option. read more

I'd give Philz Coffee a solid 9/10! The cashier was very friendly and outgoing, which made for a great first impression. The inside was bright, clean, and had a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the S'mores Coffee, and it was really good--not overly sweet, which I appreciated. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks the next time I'm in town! read more

Philz is a regular stop for me whenever I am traveling through California. I was introduced to them back in the day when I was chilling in San Francisco. I love the quality of their beans. I stumbled across this location while passing through Culver City. They are joined with a Salt & Straw (another fav of mine). I loved that this location had some free samples on the counter when I was here. I have a tendency to just order my usual drinks and not try something new. They were showcasing some newer flavors and I was sold on the Sweet Harmony. This iced drink is combined with Philz coffee and muddled mint, cinnamon and oat milk. I very much enjoyed my drink with my Salt & Straw ice cream that I bought afterwards. Phil Jaber founded Philz Coffee in 2003 and spent years experimenting with various coffee beans from around the world to create over 30 different unique blends. Each "cup of love" is custom made in front of you and finished off with their signature mint leave. The Philz baristas make sure your drink is to your liking before you pay. One thing that is unique about Phiz is that they don't do lattes or cappuccinos. The Mint Mojito Iced Coffee is their best seller and still my personal favorite. Stopped by this morning for a coffee and could not believe the slow service and bad tasting coffee. only two baristas on. One barista was fantastic, she moved through her orders so quickly My barista however was moving slow like a turtle... & my entire coffee was watered down milk. 4-5 people behind me who ordered in store received their drinks before me - when I asked the barista if they've forgotten my order it was such an inconvenience to them. the drink she made me was so bad but I was already late (waited over 10 mins). No coffee in my cup just a bunch of milk... I couldn't even risk waiting another 20 mins for something so bad. Please spend more time training staff or save the slower ones for the afternoon crowd and not the morning shift. read more

I was a first timer to Philz last week. Can't believe I've never been here considering the number of times I frequent the places next door. Fun place, fun concoctions, and service is particularly hospitable. They recommended the iced oatmeal cookie cold brew, and pistachio Danish, and if it wasn't for my holiday diet so close to Thanksgiving, I would have had 3 servings (yes..... I had 2 servings...). Whoever manages or schedules this location has lost their damn mind. With only 3 people working, and one of them being forced to go back and forth between the register and the toaster ovens, it's no wonder this place is packed during morning rush with dozens of people waiting for their food 30 minutes after ordering. If a customer has the time to sit around waiting for half an hour, they're not gonna go to a chain coffee shop that doesn't even make espresso. The staff is always really nice here, but they're being set up to fail because they do not have enough support. Somehow I doubt Philz can't afford an extra cashier in the mornings. read more

I always ordered this Philtered Soul large with creamy cream. Philz coffee is different from Starbucks. Philz coffee is aromatic with sweet and bold taste from coffee beans with a hint of hazelnut flavor. I love the smell as well as its taste. It is a balanced cup of coffee in the early morning or afternoon with their cookies or baked goods of your choice. Service was excellent because they make a cup of coffee fresh as soon as I ordered. I am a philz Fan everywhere I go. This time it's The Culver City Branch. Philz has both indoor and outdoor seating. The coffee shop has relaxing vibes. There is a parking lot adjacent to Philz which makes my experience at Culver City branch more relaxing. I got my current go-to drink Iced philterd soul cold brew. It was fantastic as usual. The barista was very nice and friendly. Although I didn't use the Philz app this time, the service was fast. Of course I will be back whenever I am in the neighborhood. read more

Came in on a Saturday at 2:30pm. I was waiting 10 mins for my drink, which in itself was lengthy but not a huge deal. When I went to pick it up, they made it iced when I asked for it hot. They seemed annoyed that I asked for a correction but said they would remake it. It took 7 more minutes for them to fix the drink I ordered (small hot tiramisu). It's always a great experience. The coffee is consistently prepared well, and I love that the staff go the extra step to ask if it's prepared to our liking. Got a decaf mocha tesora Philz way and it's good every time. Went in yesterday afternoon (3/17) and staff was extremely friendly. I think people easily assume that a large chain like Philz might not have the charm of the smaller independent coffee houses, but they would be assuming wrongly. The staff are all helpful and friendly and it's in a great location , walkable everywhere in culver so a great morning stop or pick me up..but the line does get long here so just be prepared to show their staff some patience on busy days! I arrived here on a hectic morning at around 10am. The vibe is quite bustling, definitely not a spot for chilling out; it's really loud and packed with people. There were roughly 3 folks in front of me, and I waited about 12 minutes for a small ice mojito coffee that ended up tasting like watered-down milk. I couldn't pick up on the coffee or the mint flavor at all. It was pretty disappointing since I've had this drink before, and it usually tastes like coffee with a hint of mint. All in all, I might skip this place in the future and head to the El Segundo location instead. read more

Delicous!!! Philz specializes in pour over coffee and delicious fresh pastries. For $7 I got a large Coffee Mint Mojito, sweet & creamy but with oatmilk and Stevie and it was insane!! Soon delicious and fresh. The fresh sprig of mint in it really set it off. I will say a slight disappointment was realizing there was no espresso, so if you are looking for an extra punch, with a shot or 2, you won't find that here. Parking at the Culver steps for free, so you don't have to worry about parking. Love Philz and their fresh unique concoctions. Service was great, some seats indoors but the best is the seating outdoors on the Culver steps. read more

Love their seasonal drinks, especially the new spring drinks: Caramel Cardamon Karma and Nutty Caramel Nirvana. The Caramel Cardamon Karma iced was amazing, as well as the coffee cake muffin. Also, this location was so dog friendly and liked the bench where I had to wait for my drink. Everyone had a friendly smile and seemed happy to be there. Finally, the price was also great. Got the drink, which was under $6, and the muffin was somewhere around $4. Nice to get a specialty drink and a baked treat for $10. I know Philz well from living in SF, where it is based and insanely popular. The coffee is good and they intentionally make it very very strong. I most highly recommend two drinks from the Featured Creations menu: the Iced Mint Mojito and Iced Gingersnap. I come to Philz specifically for these drinks, they are so unique and exceptional. They have special names for how they make the drinks, my preference is the "Philz way" which is specified as sweet and creamy. Philz Coffee in Culver City has a great atmosphere with high ceilings that make the space feel open and airy. However, it's usually pretty crowded, so finding a seat can be tough. That said, most of the indoor tables--about 70%--have outlets, which is a huge plus if you're planning to get work done. The drinks here are consistently great! I've had this same drink before at other locations and was glad I asked for less sweet this time around because usually I am wired after drinking the regular sweet version. If you've never gotten the THIN MINT and you love the mint mojito + mocha tesora this is the drink for you. I learned about it from one of the workers a few years ago and always order it when I want a treat! THIN MINT: large iced mint mojito + 2 scoops of cocoa w/ extra ice!! On a normal day though and the time I visited, I got a large sweet harmony w/ medium almond milk & medium honey.
