I love coming to Peet's. This one is in the Crescent Plaza shopping center right off Monument Blvd. I like the coffee at Peet's because it is stronger. The customer service is always great. I only have two Peet's in my area that I can go to. I can either go to the Concord location or Pleasant Hill. Both have their pros and cons. The pro for this location is that if your headed to Pleasant Hill for any errands you can swing by this Peet's and continue about your day. The con is the parking, it is a little snug and you may need to park in the back lot. I had a pleasant experience at this location until I saw the barista throwing out mountain high plate fulls of sweets. Cookies, scones, pastries all went in the garbage around 7:30 PM. I then asked the Barista if those are given away to the homeless or can be sold at half the cost to give away to a food bank. Her answer was no but at least it goes in the compost. I am very disappointed at this practice. Perhaps this should not be done in front of customers. What made is worse was the fact that a customer before me just bought a pastry but now you are throwing everything out. We need a solution for this waste asap. read more

Are you kidding me? Worst experience at a coffee shop in my entire life and I've been around as long as Peet's. Went into this Peet's location on November 24, 2023 (day after Thanksgiving) at 3:40 pm after getting out of movie theater across the street. We ordered two warm decaf drinks. My drink came first as it was a Pumpkin Spice Latte and the bald male barista with thick and fluffy black beard served up drink on bar and added the spices. He gave me the drink after putting lid on and then my wife got her drink which was a Holiday Spice which he spiced up on counter. We grabbed our drinks and exited. As we are at the crosswalk light signal I took a sip and lo and behold my drink was completely cold. I told my wife and she tried it too. She confirmed the obvious error (seems like it was on purpose as it would be very hard to make this kind of mistake if you are even a little conscientious about your job). No doubt my drink had no attempt even made for a warm drink. My wife tries her drink and it's like luke warm which is still pathetic even though it's better than my drink. My drink was not consumable at the cold temperature. My wife drank her drink but she was not happy either. So just getting this out there as a warning not to spend money at this particular location. Never had any problems at any other Peet's anywhere; even out of state when went to Washington D.C. I would give a zero if I could but Yelp does not allow a lower score. Management needs to take heed here as this employee is ruining this location and Peet's reputation overall which was very good in my opinion up to this fiasco today. read more

What to say about your friendly, neighborhood Peet's that's always there for you? I come here frequently for coffee beans, espresso drinks and once in a while something from the baked goods. As far as drinks go, an espresso shot over ice or some nice iced tea is great in the summer time. I am partial to the quinoa quiche which is light and flavorful. The brioche sandwich is also good- nice chewy bread with a pretty substantial amount of egg and bacon. The staff is friendly and efficient even when there is a big rush and they are short handed. I come to this Peet's often and I will keep coming back. read more

We went in on a busy Sunday morning and our overall experience was good. The coffee was good. The service was good. The layout is not so good. The condiment counter is right where you walk in and where everyone waits to pick up their drinks, so it gets crowded. They also have a separate counter where you can order coffee beans without waiting for everyone to order their drinks so that is helpful. read more

I am the type to usually make my own coffee so for me this was a treat to stop by here. I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk and also had them grind some beans for me to take home. I'm too lazy to grind them at home so I appreciated them doing that for me. I also appreciated that the cashier didn't appear to mind- I kind of expected an eye roll since there was a line behind me but she just smiled! I had to wait about 15 minutes from the time I ordered my coffee, which seemed too long to me but staff was friendly and they were working their behinds off. The place is my 2nd favorite Coffee shop in the area. (1st goes to Panama Red, Concord) The staff is always upbeat and they treat you well. My 2 Favorite Drinks are White Chocolate Mocha no Whip, and the Mocha Freddo. The place is always busy and parking kinds of stinks in the afternoon. But, there is a plenty of parking in back if you aren't in a rush. The Bathroom is always clean and I am always torn between to what to get from the display case. I work at a different Peets store and every time I come here, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and the store is CLEAN! The natural lighting is super nice. Big plus, that's the majority of the stars for this review. BUT they never get my drink right for some reason even though it's (pretty) simple, I think. I get an iced coffee with 4 pumps of caramel sauce. I never get 4 pumps in it (don't judge me for knowing the difference between 3p and 4p of caramel sauce, I sold my taste buds to the Peets devil! I swear I'm not usually a snob) even when I specify and 50% of the time I get creme caramel syrup instead of caramel sauce. The reason why I still come here though is because nobody ever has a problem remaking my drink or adding more caramel. The staff is knowledgable and overall polite. read more

I dropped by the Peet's coffee on Creasant in Pleasant Hill today. I ordered four 4 shot expressos in 4 small cups. I was very disappointed in the amount of expresso I received in each cup. The total volumne of the expresso in the 4 cups would not even fill half a small cup of coffee. I paid $20 for a half a cup of expresso. I felt ripped off by the baristas there. I will not go back to this Peet's again. I usually go to the Peet's at the Veranda shopping complex where I get a fair deal when buying expressos there. My advice is to spend a little more travel time and avoid the Pleasant Hill Peet's and go on over to the one at the Veranda complex. Jerry H. read more

This is a nice piece in a convenient location in downtown Pleasant Hill. Right across from the Century movie theater, it's a great place to grab a quick snack and a cup of coffee. However, I'm not a fan of Peet's Coffee straight up. It's a little too strong for me. But the way to make it work is to order a small coffee in a large cup and have the mix it out with 50% hot water. Today , July 15th, 2018 I ordered a drink with soy to prevent the lactose response I could have that will ruin my entire day and make me unpopular at home and anywhere I go as well. You can guess what happened. I'm at home at embarrassing myself at the theatre a few times . The cramping and bloating is torture, which means the drink was milk and not Soy. If your serving drinks and people ask for Soy it is not because they want to be part of the crowd adoring long orders for coffee. It's medically necessary. I TOLD YOU I'M A FEEN. I inquired as to "today's blend" they (2 young female cashiers) looked behind them and stated, "Holiday Blend" (with a smile). Drink prepare artist, "um, no it's actually Ethiopian this time." Great, that sounds like it would be nice and strong on the scale (I know my coffee)... 2 young cashiers (smile profusely and say nothing, literally just stare at me for upwards of 10 seconds). In a situation like this... 10 seconds is like a Matrix 3 minutes. Older woman (super cute and tiny and very matter-of-fact; no offense) comes out of nowhere and adds, "You know, you're probably right, the machine has been on and off lately, let me take care of it and make a fresh batch. I'll watch it." I am SO not wanting special attention when I get my cup-o-jolt, but I SO APPRECIATE the HONESTY but mostly A QUICK FIX. This Peet's coffee is slow. Every time I've tried to come in and give it a 3rd 4th 5th chance they always seem to take forever to make my drink, they have many workers and since it's busy they should have two people helping make drinks. My sandwich came out first and by the time I got my drink the sandwich was cold and the drink didn't even taste the way I usually get it, the guy just upgraded my drink without asking me or asking to Comp my drink. I go to this Peet's all the time. I really enjoyed Peet's Coffee; the beans, espresso, tea, and everything they have is excellent. I have not had a lot of the tea, but what I have had of the tea is good as well. The Baridi blend is a excellent light blend if you want beans. I will roast my own at times, but when I don't then Peet's is my go to for beans. I also enjoy the baked goods they have, and the Swiss Quiche is one of my favorites. One of the drawbacks of this place is they get extremely crowded at times because of their location, but the quality of their service and the efficiency they have usually makes the crowds go away fairly quickly. read more

I feel very compelled to leave this review right now. For the first time in a very very long time, I can actually say, I have not had a coffee that good in years. I ordered a pumpkin chai latte with an add shot and a young man named Miki made it for me. As he was finished with my drink, he attempted the pour and the pour came out perfect with a beautiful Rosetta on the top. I was so shocked that he put that much care into my coffee. Had a brief conversation with him about latte art and he told me that he just did this because he enjoyed it. The second test approaches, that is the taste test. Holy crap, it was so good! Love Peet's; this location makes the most of the tiny sq feet but only 3/5 stars because of the BATHROOM.... barf! Only one bathroom at this location (which is fine), but it's ALWAYS dirty. Every single time I go here. I like to do my admin work away from home to be more productive and when I'm spending ample time at a coffee shop, it's inevitable I'll have to use the restroom. This bathroom is enough to make me second guess going here. It's always so gross and disgusting. The ambiance of the coffee shop doesn't match the 1 Star gas station vibe of the restroom. I've been back a couple of times since then, and it's been consistently better than my experience back in June. Two stars is kind of harsh for one experience, and my experiences since then have been OK.-- though the staff is still not as friendly as many other Peet's. One tip that I have when you face a long line (and I've never gone into this Peet's that there has not been a line): go buy a pound of beans. I am one cranky ass bitch without food or coffee-especially in the morning. There, I said it, and yes, I feel better. We picked up the daughter from a sleep-over this morning around 10am and had to wait while the kids finished making a video that will someday be posted on You Tube. The man and I had planned on picking her up and going to breakfast at Left Bank in PH. Well, long story short, we all arrive at Left Bank for breakfast at 10:30 and are told they don't open for "brunch" until 11am. I swear, I was about to have a meltdown like a toddler, and then the sky opened up and the birds started chirping when I walked around the corner and saw the Peet's sign. Holy Moly, I was so grateful, I almost cried. I opened the door to this Peet's and it was PACKED. Sardine like packed. No one on the street, no other place opened, but people and strollers everywhere. I did my best to be patient and knew life would be okay when I saw that Garuda was the espresso of the day. When it was my turn to order, I ordered my large non-fat extra-foamy latte making sure they knew I needed the full 3 shots and none of those short pull stunts sometimes baristas like to pull when the place is busy. I was assured I would get no such funny business and after waiting for what seemed like forever (it was only 6 minutes), I received a deliciously strong extra foamy latte. Kudos on that foam ladies! Came to the Brentwood location today ordered my regular soy cafe olay with foam and there black bottom cupcake a petite chocolate cupcake with cream cheese filling. Sevice was not as friendly as usual (we all have those days, cant be perfect all the time).Other than that the black bottom cupcake was delicious, moist, and not over bearlingly sweet. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Peet's Coffee. If there was one in Houston (I don't count the one in Hobby Airport) I would totally be there, but this location has some downsides to it, hence the 3-star review. I always try to stop by a Peet's coffee when I'm back in the Bay Area to get that extra jolt of caffeine my body craves. I just like the flavor and the strength of the coffee that Peet's brews and the simplicity of their menu. Now you may ask, why the 3-stars if it seems as if I have nothing but good things to say, well it comes down to location and service. The parking in this location, depending on when you go, can be a positive or a negative. I decided to head out on a Saturday afternoon during the early lunch crowd. The parking lots were filled with cars and a lot of people were outside enjoying the brisk, drizzly weather. It was a maze trying to find a spot because you had cars coming from different directions trying to go for the same spot that they saw when they first entered the lot and it's not even Christmas season. I know that if I decided to go during another time the situation would have been different. Now service, well, I think the service at any place should always be at the top no matter what time of day it is. I have worked retail and customer service before and I know that there are times when you just want to walk away from a customer or just not be as cheerful and what not, but then I remember that's my job. The lady who took our order never says hi, doesn't smile, and simply asked, "what do you want?" not "what would you like?" I don't know maybe it's just me, who knows. I generally will go out of my way to patron a Peet's over a Starbucks, but this location is definitely going to be a last resort from now on. I walk in and there's no line, two people waiting for drinks, and four employees on the floor, one of them less than two feet away from me, cleaning. I stand at the counter to order...and stand there...and stand there. It took a good minute or two for one of the gentlemen at the bar to even acknowledge me. I then had to explain my order multiple times when trying to place it. The guy at the register seemed entirely baffled by "a medium dirty chai latte". If I'd ordered some crazy concoction, I could appreciate being so lost, but this is a listed item on their menu. I'm going to assume he's new, and learning the ropes. Super convenient location in the heart of the Downtown Pleasant Hill/Crescent Drive shopping center, and right across the street from the movie theater. Fuel for all adventures! I'm a very big fan of Peet's iced vanilla lattes, I'm actually rather NOT versed on their menu because this drink is so tasty it turned me into a major creature of habit. The employees in here are very friendly too, and never seem flustered by a long line or the occasional douchey customer (why does every coffeehouse have to have one, and they're right in front of you in line??) - props! Reviewing this location only, not all Peets as a whole. I'm normally a Starbucks drinker (yeah, yeah, let it go...) because I don't like dark coffee and Peets always tastes too strong for me. But I recently moved to Pleasant Hill and the Starbucks by my house doesn't open early enough for me to go before work. The girls who work in the morning are very nice and always remember my drink. I love that they have Almond milk to help sweeten my latte without adding the extra sugar syrup. I have now switched exclusively to Peets based on this location's customer service and the fact that they fill your cup with liquid instead of foam. customer service note: I forgot my phone on the counter when I picked up my coffee. I only had 2 hands and I had my coffee in one and my baby in the other. I didn't notice my phone was missing until 20 minutes or so later when I was eating dinner down the street. When I ran back to Peets frantic, they told me that one of the employees just walked it down to the place I was just eating with my husband. She recognized my baby in the screensaver and saw us eating while she was having her break. This went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. read more
