Stopped here on my way to my favorite beach and the best beach in California: Black's Beach. I have been to Peet's in LA and Orange County a lot and usually the employees are friendly and helpful but not here on the Saturday I stopped in a few weeks ago. I dealt with two employees and they were not too friendly. Maybe they just came over from Starcrooks? They had that attitude... This Peet's is in a Busy Active shopping center in a nice area of La Jolla. Free easy parking. The place was packed--No tables available outside and I just found one inside and cleaned it off. Lot's of people hanging here with really no place to go. (They must not know about Black's?) Coffee was "okay" here. I probably would not return here on my next visit, it just not the Peet's scene I am used to, but if you need Peet's coffee sure come here--how bad can it be? read more

Free wi-fi, beverage variety and friendly service are about the most positive things I have to say. The prices are absolutely outrageous. Over $7 for a medium latte. There are far bougier places I could frequent if I wanted to spend this kind of money, such as the Blue Bottle Coffee just up the road in the UTC mall. The food options are your standard pre-packaged variety similar to Starbucks. There are about 6 tables for outdoor seating, but don't expect them to be clean. read more

They have a great assortment of breakfast sandwiches and of course, strong coffee. I like this location particularly because of their bountiful seating options both inside and outside. The staff do a great job of being both kind and keeping the place so clean. I like it because inside it feels like a good ol' classic cafe, with people reading, people talking or playing a board game, or working. The coffee is good but the employees are so miserable. I feel bad for them for hating their life so much. All but maybe two are actually kind and friendly. When you're starting someone's day it's nice to have a smile on your face! Peet's actually does have something similar and she never even offered or cared to explain the options. Just rude for no reason! AMBIANCE Place feels new, modern with clean black and white colors, and has a glass storefront which brings in lots of light. There's plenty of interior and exterior seating. SERVICE Staff were friendly and greeted me as I walked to the register for my mobile pickup. DRINK Horchata latte, large $6.9: This is how I like my drinks - strong, drinkably hot, sweet enough, and uniquely flavored. This latte has 3 shots of hand pressed espresso, steamed whole milk, cinnamon, light vanilla syrup, regular honey turmeric ginger syrup. I've been here a few times, and this place isn't half bad. The restaurant is clean and the service is good. However, I've mainly only ordered their teas, and there are definitely some good ones and some bad ones. For instance, I love their classic black and green iced teas and I think their iced wild berry hibiscus tea is the best drink on the menu! However, I'm not a fan of their sparkling passionfruit tea, and their iced green tea with lemonade. The passionfruit flavor in the sparkling passionfruit doesn't shine through too much and their iced green tea with lemonade is a little bitter for me, and the tea flavor gets lost with the strong flavor of the lemonade. All around, I think this place isn't half bad when it comes to tea. Just pick the right one, and you'll have a good experience. Also, I did order some coffee once from here, and it wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. I'd recommend just sticking to Starbucks for coffee, but if you visit this place, get the teas I recommend above. You won't be disappointed! read more

I love Peet's! They are always coming out with fun and festive seasonal drinks! Also, their rewards program is the best out of any coffee shop! I feel like I am always earning free coffee, or a percentage off! This store has great customer service. The drinks are always served in a timely manner and the employees are friendly! I come here regularly and never have any complaints but this morning I ordered online. I was charged three times. Twice on Chime and once On Venmo for one order even though it rejected my card. On top of that I used points for a free size upgrade and was given a small instead of a large. On the label you can see it's supposed to be a medium but it's a small and it was supposed to be upgraded to a large. I couldn't have it remade because I didn't want to be late to work and walk in with coffee also the barista as kind as he was, looked backed up on orders. I'm hoping to get a refund and my points back. I'm not angry but want the errors corrected. read more

Located at renaissance across from Utc . The barista said they moved from their previous location by Whole Foods ! I was wondering where that previous location went . You can order inside which is nicely air conditioned . But no indoor seating and no restrooms are open . Arrows are on floor to display distancing . I like ordering ice coffee in the afternoon from Peet's as they offer it decaf (whereas Starbucks does not). I don't prefer when hot coffee is poured over ice . So already prepared cold decaf coffee is always best . Unfortunately this location doesn't have it . Barista said they do americano decaf over ice which he said was pretty good . Cashless here as well . Cashier seemed new but nice . He didn't ask for a rewards number so I forgot to tell him . It was too late to do so after I paid and realized . Iced americano was pretty good . Smooth and not too acidic . They had a few outdoor tables which were mostly occupied . Overall a nice location . read more

I've been going to this location since we moved to the area several weeks ago. Most of the staff, (with the exception of one or two) are very rude and dismissive. It's quite shocking. A few times the almond croissants tasted stale, so this last time I asked to exchange it, and the young blonde girl that often works the counter/register flat out refused to. Wow! read more

Cashier (short blonde with glasses) was super sweet and accommodating with my order. I always order a double shot over extra ice with some vanilla and oat (lattes are always too much milk) which is why I get extra ice. It came out to $4.20. I typically order this from Starbucks and it's cheaper. Also tastes better. Usually baristas are super accommodating when the drink doesn't look or taste how you want it. I never have this issue anywhere else. However, I just asked the baristas for a little extra oat milk and the guy (idk his name) was super nice and said sure as he poured a little more oat milk. However, the female barista (tall, long curly hair in a low pony tail) was rude and said she'd have to charge me next time I asked for a splash of oat milk because "It's just a vanilla latte".... I'm not stupid and was a barista for 3 years back in college so I know what I'm ordering and what a vanilla latte is. She was very rude and honestly should really take a second to remember she's working in customer service for a big corporate company like Peet's which isn't even that good. In addition these are bad for the environment, especially the plastic lid, which, again, you are infusing with your hot beverage. This location has been around for about 2 years and is still in close proximity to University City/La Jolla area. Located in the Renaissance Shopping Center near CVS and a few other eateries- Peet's is definitely a solid coffee shop to get your espresso and coffee drinks from. Always loved Peets, especially espresso and lattes. Out of all the large corporate chains, they have the best beans and roasts. They also stepped up their game finally in the food department, more pasties selection, hot to go savory breakfast items. This new location is in the heard of UTC at Renaissance shipping plaza. The cafe is large and of course brand new, lots of seating indoor and out. However, this is my beef with most coffee shops in UTC. I came here on the weekday at 1030, there was not a single seat left. It was like a library with everyone on their laptops. People sit and occupy the place for hours on end, there should be some sort of a time limit, seriously. read more

I always welcome a new Peet's Coffee in San Diego or anywhere else for all that matters. I had them make me a cafe aul lait with soy milk, the soy was a first for me, and I had a Simply Oatmeal with currants, almonds, and some toasted quinoa. Using the soy milk was not that bad. It definitely did not prove to be as creamy as a milk product, but it tasted pretty good. The roast they used for the coffee was quite good. The simply oatmeal rocked and tasted great. Adding the extra toppings, you get a choice of three, really brought on some nice texture and extra good flavors. The staff members were all very nice and helpful.
