We stopped in one evening for some after dinner drinks. Liquid dessert so to speak. Have to be truthful - wasn't a good experience. Started off good though. Lots of parking. In a plaza that appeared to be slow or dead leaving lots of space. I parked almost in front - just off to the side. Walk in and it's order at a kiosk. I get automation as it's something I do, I've done and will do as times change. However, I had questions and ended up just ordering something else as there was no human interaction to answer me. Place is deceivingly small - there are a bunch of seating - I wouldn't go in with a large group but definitely places to sit, chat or work on your laptop (saw several students? hammering away on their laptop keyboard). Not sure, but maybe they also offer WIFI.? Drinks seems watered down in my opinion. And I've ordered the same drinks at other locations and either the ingredients were off or it was prepared differently that didn't quite align to my expectations and taste. However, place was busy so maybe it's just how it's served as business was steady and I saw a few order the same as what I got. Don't live in the area so highly unlikely that there will be a return visit. read more

Stopped by here on a whim and this plaza is awesome! I got the mango yakult drink and tbh the drink didn't taste like yakult at all. There was a lot of syrup in it and it just tasted like artificial mango syrup when I got it at 75% sugar. They might be using a different brand for yakult but for the prices that are being charged (avg drink is 6.75) they can have better quality. Maybe can try adding more natural/ house made syrup. But maybe it's one off and just this drink. I haven't tried the other ones but the Thai tea one looked pretty good. Horrible. Thought I'd treat myself to boba but this tasted like water! So sad I wasted my stomach on this.

The tea here was below average. I got the roasted oolong fresh tea with grass jelly. It didn't taste like roasted oolong and didn't taste fresh. It tasted like watered down day-old tea that was pretty much flavorless. The strawberry matcha latte with sea cream was not much better. The sea cream definitely didn't go with the latte and gave it a funky taste. Neither of us were happy with our drinks. This was one of those places that we can check off as "been there, done that" and close the door, never to come back. read more

Haven't had a drink I didn't like here at Arteazen. Recently tried the Tiger Thai after not coming here for a while. Still delicious! Thai tea with Oreo cookie bits. Customized with a lower sugar level and still tasted good. You order on a kiosk and was ready within 5 mins. No human interaction at all. Pretty busy shop around 9pm on a Friday. Wanted to try this place after a morning workout. This is in a shopping center with CVS and parking can be tight. The store was clean. You place your order on a kiosk. I ordered a Korean Strawberry Milk Tea (75% sweet) with golden boba. Size was a good portion. First time I've tried this flavor and it was yummy. Tasted just like Strawberry Quik but not too heavy because it was tea-based. Nostalgic flavor that brought me back to my childhood days drinking the rabbit strawberry quik powder...lol. Came here due to convenience and available study space. I've been a few times over the years, and this was the first time in a long time. Drinks have definitely increased in price but seem to be average for boba shops. I ordered the tiger Thai tea drink with 25% sugar. I usually order 50% at other places but I'm glad I got even less here. My drink was still quite sweet. Not a huge fan of Oreo in my drinks but I found that it added a nice crunch. Although this drink appears to be innovative, it was still really average. Inside was clean and service was fast. There are many outlets available which I appreciated. Parking is easy. I always want Thai tea nowadays. I was thirsty and found Arteazen in the area. I think my sis tried Arteazen recently at a street fair and liked it. Taking a look at the pics, the Tiger Thai tea caught my eye! It almost looks like a tiger with its white and orange stripes! It's a small shop and it was packed inside as we entered. One guy working the counter and one in the back making the drinks. Most people there were gathering with friends. They also have board games if you're looking to hang there for a bit. I got the Tiger Thai tea, no boba. It's a variation on their regular Thai tea which they call the Royal Thai. They only have one size. It's a fairly large, 20 oz. It would be nice if they had different size options, but it's a perfect size to share with the hubs. My drink was just over $7. The Tiger Thai tea is made with Thai tea, puff crème topped with Oreo crumbles and mixed together. I asked what was the difference between the Royal Thai and Tiger Thai, he responded the Royal was only Thai tea and the Tiger Thai was sweeter. Geezy...ok! The Tiger Thai was definitely different. It had smoky flavor and the puff crème made it a tad bit sweeter. I typically love Oreo crumbles but all together I found it a bit odd. I'm not sure what exactly threw the drink off for me, the smokiness or the puff crème or Oreo crumbles in my tea... I usually get it my Starbucks which I absolutely love. The cup that the Thai tea is made in is a thick plastic which is nice and sturdy which I appreciate instead of the usual thin plastic ones that feel like you can bust the entire drink if squeezed or shaken too hard. I like coming here because it's in a great plaza that has so many great food options already so a boba afterwards is super convenient. Service is fast and the menu displayed on the tv screens is very clear and easy to understand. Most of the boba places at UTC are fast casual and crowded with limited seating, so I like coming here to spend time with friends or study. Not much service and not the most friendly or welcoming staff - I ordered online and my order was just left on the counter, so I went up to ask about it. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. It is funny that the first thing I thought after a sip is that it tasted almost a bit like Ding Tea (which is funny because I had Ding Tea earlier in the day and they did not taste like this, then I did a bit more Googling and found out this used to be a Ding Tea location also). The milk tea was on the creamier side with a lack of tea taste to it. It was a bit on the bitter side and it was not that sweet at 100% sugar. About $7 for this drink, which is decent, but they were pretty stingy on the boba portion. read more

I've been to many boba shops around San Diego so I have a solid understanding of sugar levels, this tasted like 125%+. A disappointment. I ordered the hong kong milk tea with oreo and sea cream, which is listed in the menu as a premium handcrafted drink for $6.55. However, she rang up a hong kong milk tea with 2 toppings (oreo and sea cream) for $0.85 each topping, which came out to $7.15. I decided to change the oreo to boba since $0.85 for oreo crumbles is absolutely not worth it. Also, the barista asked me if I wanted the sea cream swirled, which I said yes to. Arteazen has been my go to place to study after class or during late at night. But when I came last night, the workers were playing incredibly loud and vulgar music that made it so difficult to focus-- it even gave me a headache. This has happened on multiple occasions and I'm just confused why the workers play this kind of music at MAX volume at a cafe where students typically go to for studying. I got the jasmine green milk tea with boba, no ice and no sugar. It cost me $6.57. The tea has an extremely strong bitter and sour taste. I always get tea with no sugar and often make tea myself at home and I have never had a tea with such a bitter and almost pungent taste. This taste is not normal in tea (I have NEVER tasted tea like this) and makes me wonder if something is rotten or spoiled. The inside of the store is very stuffy and humid.
