TLDR - All style, some substance. Everything from the exterior to the foods exudes a beautiful aesthetic but the quality aside from looks does not justify the price when there are comparable and more price appropriate dessert/sweets/cafes within a 2 minute walk Parfait Paris is an adorable patisserie/cafe at the utc Westfield. The staff is friendly, anything you buy looks gorgeous and the inside is immaculate. Ambience 9/10 Lunar New Year Croissant Described as a croissant filled with sesame and almond paste, this is a good but not great croissant. It has the layers, it has the chew, but it's no better than a croissant you would get at a number of other bakeries in the area. But those other bakeries are charging $4-7 instead of $10! The almond and sesame flavors were both very subtle and make me believe there is just a very minimal amount used in the recipe. Would not recommend even as a chewy over crispy croissant guy. 5/10 Creme brûlée latte Pretty much what I wanted without description. Creamy, noticeable but not overpowering vanilla flavor, and a lovely burnt topping for bitter balance. The coffee still comes through meaning this is a well crafted latte, not a dessert. This one actually comes at a pretty decent price too. 8/10 Yuzu & lime tart Their take on meringue pie is composed of a graham crust, yuzu mousse, and a meringue topper with a circle of lemon curd gel. To my taste, there is too much sweet on this plate, needing some balance of tart. But the textures of each component were on point: fluffy meringue, thick lemon gel, dense crust, and substantial yet airy mousse. Torching the meringue at home added a bitter element which I think made the sweetness more palatable. Would have liked the citrus to be more present. 5/10. All in all I would choose other sweets shops at most shopping centers than return here but for drinks this is a pretty good option. read more

We had a lot of time to spare since we were waiting for our reservation at Din Tai Fung. We came here for a snack. We ordered the mango bliss and iced berry lemonade. They were both tasty. Was on the hunt for matcha at UTC and decided to try the Berry Matcha here! Parfait Paris is hard to miss, spanning a wide corner close to Macy's. No seating inside but a couple of tables were set up outside. I ordered the Berry Matcha with oat milk. It was decent, the berry flavor was on the sweeter side and dominated the matcha flavor. I still enjoyed it while sharing a nutella crepe with a friend (which was delicious, but also hard to mess up otherwise). Overall, if you're looking for matcha that isn't from a boba shop within UTC, Parfait Paris is your best bet. However, if you're not confined to UTC for your matcha endeavors, I'd suggest finding a different spot. read more

Macaron tasted like it's been in the fridge for a while. I got the caramel one and it barely tasted like anything. The Lemon meringue tart was ok but somehow was way too sweet even though it was tart - I couldn't finish the whole thing. Service was curt and unwelcoming. There's also barely any seating, with only three tables outside and the owner? took over one of them instead of allowing guests to use them given the limited number of tables. I walked in and was the only customer in the store. There was an employee at the counter doing something on his cell phone and didn't acknowledge us at all. My niece and I were looking at the dessert for almost a minute and it felt like we were interrupting whatever he was doing on his phone. Parfait Paris is a french bakery cafe that opened recently in UTC La Jolla. There are multiple locations in the San Diego area: Gaslamp, Coronado and Del Mar. This cafe is in the Westfield shopping center which offers limited time free parking. While out and about yesterday, I realized I was running on an empty tummy. This cafe offers coffee drinks, sandwiches, gelato and pastries...I wanted a croissant Tartine but the menu mostly offered ham and meats and I wanted something vegan. The menu needs to offer more vegan options. Then I saw all the pastries, I had to order some macarons, which are vegan and my pup Fendi loves them. I'm usually drawn to new creations so I ordered their latest: Chocolate Pecan Tart. It was small, not too sweet and so delectable. The staffer was nice helpful, expeditious and she wore a fresh clean pair of gloves before handling anything yay! A few marble top tables and outdoor only seating to enjoy my treat. Everything would have been perfect had the cafe used silverware and NOT plastic, which lessened the niceness experience. Or at least use compostable utensils made with wood. Even though I've visited other Parfait Paris locations, I feel compelled to review this location because it's new and a welcomed addition to UTC La Jolla. Parfait Paris lives up to its claims of serving authentic French bakery goods. Their almond croissant was absolutely delicious and tasted just like the ones I had in Paris. It's crispy and not too sweet and you can totally taste the honey glaze on top of the croissant. The server was lovely and offered to warm up my croissant. You guys are so freaking friendly, gracious and kind, I can't help but still feel so overwhelmingly happy about my interaction that Thursday. My husband, best friend, our little pup and I came to UTC to get some dinner and the viral Dubai chocolate from another vendor, the other vendor sold out so I was a little bummed but my husband saw that you still had the Cookie Croissant so we made our way over. I ended up getting the Dubai pan swiss, crookie and pecan pie New York roll, I had mentioned that it was my bestie's birthday and she offered him a macaron super sweet of her. She noticed Kodiak my pupper and she made him a little pup cup and then another member gave my bestie a piece of chocolate that said Happy Birthday. Seriously such an incredible experience, I usually go to the Liberty Station or Fashion Valley locations because they're closer to me but I love UTC so definitely making more trips up. If you haven't already the crookie, is the absolute BEST pastry from Parfait Paris, it's crazy to have a croissant and cookie hybrid but it is amazing. I don't normally go out of my way to leave a review but my experience here was just awful. I was excited to bring my mom and sister in to try their desserts after we just ate at marugame. The girl working there on Wednesday 1/28 at 2:56pm was not helpful or nice and had a horrible attitude from the start. I came with my family. When we walked in there was a single person there and he worked at Macy's. As they were just chatting we did not get greeted as we walked in and she didn't say a single word for the 10 minutes we were just standing there. I proceeded to ask if we could order something and she responded with a horrible attitude " I'm helping someone right now" in a rude way. She needs to work on her customer service and the management needs to retrain this girl. We even waited 5 more minutes and she still did not help us. So we walked out and we went over to Venchi next to Nordstrom for dessert instead. They were much nicer to us and helped us through every step.
