the past few times ive been here it's been great, but today was a little dissapointing. the caramel frap didnt have much caramel, and it tasted like there wasnt really any coffee in there either. it was almost white and tasted like ice blended with milk. i got home and added instant coffee into it and some peanut butter to make up for the lack of caramel. the customer service was good (unless they gave me a bad drink on purpose!). i'll be back again, i just will order something else next time. read more

It's holiday time, that Pumpkin Latte is one of my favorites. "You mind if I have a sip of your tasty beverage to wash this down?"....Vincent & Jules might not drink Pumpkin Lattes on their way to hits....might. Peet's on Mendocino; nice warm atmosphere, an african decor, dark woods, with a wool sweater kinda feel. What sticks out here to me is the way I'm treated. A smile and a, "Hey how ya doing" can go along way. This place can get pretty busy with the courthouse and administration buildings across the street. Have stood annoyingly in a line of about 15 people, the likes of which Facebook & Yelp could not help me forget the fact that I'm in a line. We're Millennials, that's what Time Magazine says about my generation, go figure. $4.65 will get you a cup of that famous squash latte, I recommend you try it. Like the cinnamon and nutmeg taste along with pumpkin. The Mayan Mocha is pretty delicious; espresso, a creamy steamed milk & dutch cocoa is a great blend. Still, just doesn't taste the same if you order it with soy milk to escape explosive diarrhea. My digestive tract is now one laboratory experiment away from becoming a super villain. I like Peet's coffees, has a nice earthy, woody & and chocolate aroma. Always has that cocoa, nutty and hint of spice flavor body with every blend you try. If that is not your thing, that's cool, Vincent prefers vanilla coke. read more

I used to be a Peetshead when I lived in the Bay Area - however - over the years Peets formula for big bold flavors has waned a bit. Yes, the coffee is still good but the whole Peets gestalt has taken on a Starbucks kind of cookie cutter persona. While I am not knocking down either one - their coffees are no longer exemplary in today's market. There is just better coffee out there Folks. If I do do Peets I go to this one - the downtown Peets reminds me of a somewhat grimy Bus Station. read more

I love their javiva swirls they are so delicious. Especially with some espresso shots. The only thing I have to complain about is the new app, I had saved up for a free drink and by the time I went to cash out on it the app had changed and I no longer had my free drink. Not sure if they are training new baristas, or what is going on. They used to make great lattes consistently, but now, not so much. Today was the second time I had to ask for refund. This time, the latte was served luke warm. I asked to them to remake it hotter, and they took it to the next extreme. I received a scalding hot latte, so much so I burned my tongue. When it's that hot, it also gets watery from too much steam. Seems it's not that hard of a sweet spot between tepid and scalding. The manager was gracious enough about returning my money, but what I really wanted was a good cup of coffee. I like Peet's. Generally they make great coffee, but this location has had a lot of inconsistency in recent months, which is unfortunate because it's a good location. read more

Ordered a coffee and a ham croissant. Tipped 2 dollars. They made my coffee, and then i watched as 5 people stood around doing nothing. I thought my croissant was in the toaster. After 15 minutes i asked about it and found out they never even through it in. Waited another 5 minutes, got back to my car and it looked like they have me the wrong one because it looked so plain. Went back in and told them, and had to rip the thing apart to even find any ham and cheese in it. The thing looked like shit, so I asked for my money back. They looked at me like I was being rude, but I paid 4.25 for it, tipped 2 dollars, waited 20 minutes, and was disappointed with it. I work in food service and have no tolerance for a situation like this. Terrible!! read more

I got there before closing, on Saturday. The 2 girls working were extremely rude. Wouldn't make coffee & wouldn't give code to restroom. Before closing time. Why is there a set time to close & they shut down before then? Ok I'll know next time to stick to my starbucks. The manger should review with the Saturday employees what actual closing time is. read more

I absolutely love this Peets location. The staff are very friendly, personable & remembers my name & order. The services is quick & the drinks are on point. I am currently in love with the coconut latte. It's mostly busy with Sonoma County's employees there since it is within walking distance of the county offices. Peets coffee is stronger then Starbucks but I like it. read more

What an unfortunate experience that took place today, at this location. I find the quality of peets to better then starbucks and have really enjoyed buying a coffee from them every day last week! Never would I have taking that money our of my savings budget for that, but this place was special to me until this morning. There was the sam three girls there everyday last week and they got to know me by name and gave me a special small discount because I work right next to them and was coming in everyday. Not only did they treat me well but they all looked like they were enjoying being at work and life was good (customers notice). Today though, I walked in a felt tension and then I saw a new face and notice stress and anxiety on all the employees faces...they did not look happy to be at work. Still though I was greeted kindly and the girl was helpful and great service! When I mentioned that because I come in everyday and worked next door there girls give me a little discount she asked her manager (which ended up being the new lady i noticed there that wasnt there last week) and she instantly said in the most unkind rude authoritative tone "we dont do that sorry". Without even working with me, so I said they have always done that for me I come in all the time:) She responds again in a snotty unprofessional tone with a about 4 people with in ear shot of her "well im the manager and I dont know what they have beening doing while I am not her but we dont do that" and then walks away. I have been in a leadership role for years and never devalued my customers the way she did me today. She may think that well if we give our regulars discounts we will loose revenue from our produce, but an intelegent person would understand that with a tiny discount the customer feels special and comes back everyday rather then just once in awhile. Point being, I have money I dont mind paying full price, but what bothers me is the imbarrasment she put me through in front of everyone and made me feel so devalued as a customer that I wont be going back to any peets. I have a nice local coffee shop I live by that I will be frequenting. Tip for people in authority when these situations pop up: take a moment to asses the situation before just barking NO!, and if someone is asking for a small discount or special treatment give it to them that one time and then say in a kind way; "Because you are such a valued customer I will make the exception for you this time :)" That would have made me think she really appreciated me and I would have left feeling good. I hope that all the people in leadership roles can learn something from this. Its never about the words its about how the words are precieved. And to all you lovely baritas at this location keep up the good work and I hope your manager treats you better then she did me. read more

Recently switched to Peet's from Starbucks. I'm very happy with that decision. Their quality of drinks is much much higher. I do recommend going to the one on Mendo. They don't tend to mess up and their stuff generally tastes better and comes out quicker. I work very close to the one on fourth and go out of my way to go here. Love it! Also the fact that they use Google Wallet is a huge plus for me. But probably only me. read more

Place is clean and drinks are yummy. The coffee shop is very spacious. Parking is a real pain in the butt though.

Definitely good coffee--at least a star better than Starbucks. I like the iced mocha in summer (half the chocolate) and a short latte in the winter. Mocha Java and Major Dickinsons are my favorite whole bean coffees. The space is comfortable though I wish they had more seats on more than one occasion. The baked goods are good, though not over the top. read more
