Perfect lunch. Manager Joshua is very welcoming and offered us great service. We asked for a couple of dishes to be slightly modified for our diet and he didn't flinch. He said yes right away and the food came quickly and was hot and super tasty. The cooks make the best tofu I've ever had. Honestly, it was just ok, and definitely wouldn't have been worthwhile if I hadn't had the coupon. The dumplings were cold, the shrimp was extraordinarily unexciting. The beef had some fatty on it and I am not a fan of that. The cauliflower fried rice ended up being super watery and mushy for me. Did not like it. I ate the beef and left all the rice. So I was still hungry and decided to order some lettuce wraps. Ugh more fatty! This one was worse than the beef! Grossed me out. I love the spicy plum sauce that they have at PF Chang's and they don't carry it here. My wife had a bento box. She liked it but not enough to come back and try it again. Food is typically ok but is declining with each visit. My last 3 orders were beyond difficult. The recent payment section of the app (PayPal) requires that you scan your credit card but the feature does not work. You are not permitted to enter your info manually as a result you cannot order online. When calling the restaurant they are always so short handed it is hard to even order online. I have been here many times and I actually had to change my 5 star rating to a 3. The restaurant does not honor all coupons or specials. I checked in on Yelp and had an honor for a free hummus plate. I told the cashier who I found out was the manager and she said it expired three days ago. So even though this offer popped up when I came to the restaurant and no expiration date was listed that I could see, they do not everything. Very poor service in my opinion. If you have an offer especially in Yelp, they should honor it and then talk to Yelp about the mistake. I guarantee they did not know I am an Elite Yelper. Maybe my baseball cap threw it off. Yikes. I guess they decided to make some changes to their menu since i no longer saw the Individual price lettuce wraps for only $2. Ok understandable i suppose. Business needs to benefit somewhere somehow. So we proceeded with lunch there. I finally settled for their build your own bowl options. I picked the Mongolian flavoring with beef and thought the cauliflower rice would be a great loe carb option. My husband got the orange chicken bowl with fried rice. Total was $19 after military discount. I thought it was a lil steep but just thought we would go for it. Our bowls ended up being a full plate almost piled with food which was good at least. I wasnt a big fan of the cauliflower fried rice. The flavor was just ok overall but it just didnt give me that fill like i needed at that time. But i thought, well at least i can take some of my husbands fried rice. Fried rice was God awful! It tasted like warmed up rice from yesterday and almost metalic from the pan it was cooked on. It was probably the worst fried rice i have ever had in my life. Im sorry but i could not fathom its flavor. Orange chicken was also off. I guess i should appreciate the real oranges they cooked with it but its citrus flavor was way overpowering. The chicken itself was almost gelatinous like for its breading unless it was those tiny pieces that were fried that had no chicken in it. Prolly the only thing that salvaged our lunch was my mongolian beef for its flavor but even that aspect wasnt great. A lot of my steak came out too tough from too much sauteing in oil or what not. We never received it and when I called the store to ask for help, the person in charge, Jonathan, told me there was nothing he could do unless we wanted to come pick up the order. What a disappointment! We've visited this restaurant frequently over the years, but it's really gotten " down in the heel". The furniture (chairs) were worn smooth, and the food was less than wonderful. My husband and I both ordered beef-- Korean BBQ Steak and Mongolian Steak. The meat pieces were full of fat and gristle which was not edible. The packaged fortune cookies smelled stale when the plastic was opened. The ice machine was broken, too. Eeek...what happened? Not sure if it was a busy dinner hour or what was going on, but the quality of this place has seriously tanked over the past year. I ordered the new Thai Mango chicken and it was soggier than a Lean Cuisine dinner bowl. We already know the sodium level in most fast food asian restaurants is through the roof, but this was too much. I expected the chicken to taste somewhat fresh? I guess that's too much to ask for. Noodles...were congealed. Once again it tasted inappropriately preserved and I was disappointed. This was unfortunate because the actual flavor of the dish was delicious and the small mango chunks inside were a great addition! Not sure if I will be going back though because my last three experiences have been somewhat similar. It had been a while since we had Pei Wei and we were very disappointed with our order this evening. We got there within the 30 min we were told it would take to get our order ready but the food was already cold. The Mongolian Beef was ok but the green onions were huge and were basically just huge raw onions in the dish. Normally I don't dislike onions but wow, that was different. The lettuce wraps were ok but the lettuce was poorly selected for making an actual wraps. We ended up eating them by taking a bite of filling then a bite of lettuce, repeat until finished. We also ordered the Thai wonton soup and it was even more disappointing. Aside from being cold it was bland and really the least Thai thing we've ever had. Honestly I've had Campbell's soup that had more Thai flavor. We ended up using most of the soy sauce, chili, hot mustard etc. to get the food tasting less like cold stale cardboard... with onions. Oh and whoever packed our to go bag decided that we couldn't possibly need a spoon for our soup so we got three forks, no spoons and two napkins which was nowhere near enough.
