One step above Panda Express its one of my favorite Asian American restaurants. Food is always hot and made to order. Clean sit down restaurant without a huge price tag. Restaurant is clean with the sounds of food being made by the chefs in the background. Overall nice restaurant with consistent experience and food quality. I used to love this place but not really know what happened. The service is ok but the restaurant somehow is not been well take care. It has ripped chairs and dirty sticky tables that gives you a sense that they don't have pride and care for their establishment. So that gives me great concerned because if the outside looks like this how the back may look like . I recently had the Steak & Shrimp Chile Ramen and it burned my face off (that's a good thing). My gf's wonton soup was absolutely perfect. I'm a big fan of Pei Wei's Pad Thai, and this location delivers on that expectation, but by far my favorite thing about this Pei Wei is the soda machine. Their futuristic soda machine delivers a ton of different kinds of soda PLUS a wide variety of flavoring, I actually had Raspberry Coke Zero, it was great! I hadn't seen this type of machine before, as of March they didn't even have it at the eastside Pei Wei, so yea, its pretty sweet. Location is kinda small, but I was still able to find seating during lunch rush hour, so not bad at all. read more

The worst ever! The person who took the phone order was unfamiliar with the menu. Could not take a prepayment. Then when my grandson arrived to a somewhat empty dining room and no line they could not find the order. Then they recreated it and announced they were out of won ton for the two soups. So they just gave us the broth in six small containers. But nothing was as bad as the unforgivable BAD TASTE! We had only bites of each. This was not late or the closing the kitchen time. It was 6:32pm. What a terrible experience and I'm terribly dissatisfied! We use to grab dinner or lunch there weekly. Who ever manages it now has lost sight of good taste! read more

Decided to finally give Pei Wei a chance and it really failed to hit the mark. The pad thai was abysmally bland while the chicken it came with was just boiled and was completely un-palatable. Also ordered honey glazed shrimp and the steak dan-dan noodles. Those dishes has some flavor on their protein option but the noodles were bland as well so I ended up having to put lots of soy sauce and siracha sauce just to be able to get through them. Noodles or rice shouldn't be flavourless (unless its steamed rice). They really should go back the drawing board when they are planning the side pairings to their meals. That or this location needs to have someone check the dishes going out to customers. I would not recommend this place to family or friends based off the experience. read more

I placed an order over an hour ago and then called to verify that they had the order and that it was correct. They confirmed they had my order and said it would be right out. I did this because I received an email saying there was a problem with my order. The order was wrong and when I told the girl there she was very dismissive And condescending and said "that's why I called it out to you". I ate there on Sunday evening. This restaurant is a fraction of what it use to be. The dining experience use to be like P.F. Chang's, now it's a bad version of Panda Express. The menu is much more limited, portions are small, served in to go containers instead of nice plates. They use plastic forks instead of silverware. Fresh oranges with the ice tea are gone, fewer soft drink, and ice tea choices. They no longer have beer and wine on ice to purchase at the register. Worst yet, the prices increased significantly. Ordered curbside from here for first time in years. Was craving Chinese and figured I'd go here since it had been a while. Order was ready when I arrived. Got home and was really disappointed in the portion sizes. I thought three entrees would be enough to share between four people like it had before. There was no way. I know the price of everything has gone up, and they raised the prices accordingly, but they decreased the portion sizes significantly. All 3 entrees were chicken and were only ok. This place is not "Chinese" it is "CHIN-MEX" with carbohydrates. I ordered for pickup 4 entrees, and each was smothered in red chili seeds. The chicken had like 8 tiny pieces and nothing but noodles with no flavor, the "fried rice" was just white rice with soy sauce and some peas PATHETIC, and the other dishes were the same as the chicken. Have not been here for a while so I decided to try to grab a quick lunch. The restaurant was messy when I arrived. Several tables not cleared with no attempt to rectify that situation. I ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup and 4 piece tuna roll. The soup was not good. I felt like I was consuming motor oil. The viscosity was too thick, like it had been left percolating on the stove overnight. Flecks of tofu throughout which indicated that the soup was probably from the day before. The flavor was off compared to the same recipe I have had repeatedly at PF Changs. Big disappointment. The sushi was a mess also. The tuna smelled. The roll fell apart when picked up. It was not rolled correctly and looked sloppy. Sorry Pei Wei, but I got the impression that you do not care any more. A real shame. Won't be back. read more

Like everyone said, Pei Wei is a more casual version of PF Changs. The restaurant was well decorated, organized, and clean. It reminds me of Noodle & Company but with an evening Asian twist. As for the food, personally if I'm craving unhealthy Americanized Asian food, I rather just get some panda express. Sorry. My meal was overwhelming salty and disappointing. Maybe the cook tripped and dumped way to much salt/soy sauce in. Maybe they were real busy, and didn't stir fry to their usual perfection or didn't care. Whatever the reason, I wanted to herd everyone in the restaurant who thought they were eating solid Asian food into the family-owned Chinese restaurant just up the block. I came here with some friends, their pick this night, so I can't complain. It is an easy app to use and you are guaranteed your order is correct. It will also give you an exact time your meal will be ready. Special Parking for takeout as well The app gives you reward points toward free items. And sometimes you get you can score free items randomly. The food consistency can sometimes be hit or miss. But I feel it is a little fresher than other popular chain restaurants. The appetizers are a great late night snack or a nice add on to a dinner meal. They are always very good and yummy. The sushi is not good and I would recommend sticking with grocery store sushi if you are in desperate need of a sushi fix. Meals can sometimes be heavy sauced so I always ask for light sauce and extra veges. They have Poke bowl options but again I would go to a place that specializes in Poke bowl as one time I got sick there. The food is delicious and made to order (as all food should be); I ordered the cauliflower fried rice with chicken. Amazing! So flavorful. I love that the chicken is not dry. This is the Pei Wei I'm used to. These cooks actually know what they're doing and know what their entrees should taste like. Pei Wei is my go to. It's simple. It's clean. It's as healthy as you want it and it's delicious above all. You can customize your Spicy, or your sweet, you can pick and choose your vegetables even if it's not what it comes with. You can do brown rice, white, quinoa, or noddles for a small up-charge. And even add extra protein for only $1.99 I seriously love their fountain drinks! You have so so many combinations available. Even though my entree wasn't plated as pretty as I'm used to, nor were my chicken cuts as nicely cut, I loved every bite. Tasted exactly as it should. I've been a customer for more than 7 years and this location has never done me wrong. I genuinely believe it has a lot to do with the Manager Jason being here and their new kitchen manager who's name I forgot, was checking in on every single person, making sure they liked their entrees and picking up any empty plates. I always appreciate that. The lady cashier with purple hair was also on top of greeting every customer who walked in and was very polite to everyone. Even cleaning up when the front was empty. Man, you guys are so slow. Like 25 minutes to get soup slow (that's all I ordered). Does not matter what time we come it takes no less than 20 minutes to get food, which means there are never any seats to sit in. If you serve faster, the chairs would open up. Pei Wei is way too far from my house to become a quick decision dinner stop. Even this first trip was prompted by a gift card. Thats too bad because it was actually pretty good and I would love to have one nearby. As usual my wife and I ordered different things so we can get a broader experience. We were both happy with the taste, the quality and the service. I am not a big fan of walkup ordering and table delivery but that seems to be popular with restaurants these days. I really miss good old sit down table service. That said, this time it was pretty quick and painless. I am truly glad I ordered a small portion, for two reasons: first this place is a bit pricey, ergo bigger portion=bigger price tag. But the other reason is that even the small portion of sesame beef with fried rice was sufficient for me and the UTEP football offensive line. Way more food than I can eat, so the wife gets lunch tomorrow. Her own orange beef without rice was a good sized meal. Of course you can't eat asian without egg rolls so that added to the size of both the meal and the ticket. Overall we were pleased but the distance from home is going to be a deterrent to a return. This little gem is hidden in the promenade plaza on N Mesa. Although, this might be a bit more chainish for my taste it's the best Thai food I've had in El Paso. The Pad Thai is flavorful but not overwhelming with unnecessary fatty sauce. The portions are also larger than average. A small plate can easily be share by two and a regular might even feed four. They also offer a variety of vegetarian dishes... So if you're in the mood for some Asian inspired dishes, stop by Pei Wei. read more

This is consistently the worst Pei Wei in El Paso. I don't know who manages the place but it's very poorly run. Three out of the four times I've been there they don't have wasabi. PLEASE let me know when I'm ordering the sushi that you don't have wasabi, not when it comes to my table and I see it missing. What kind of Asian restaurant runs out of wasabi anyway?! Last weekend my friend and I came and the host and one of the waitresses were arguing in front of everybody. The place is always dirty.
