I decided to give Pei Wei a try again recently and ordered delivery directly through the Pei Wei app. I was quite simple to order using the Pei Wei app, and you can make various customizations (add/remove items, extra protein, etc.). This time I ordered the kung pao chicken with steamed protein as well as the chicken and broccoli. I ordered both with noodles and extra protein. I also tried the new wagyu spring roll. The kung pao was definitely the better choice of the two. It was quite flavorful with tender chicken, but it was a bit light on the peanuts. Unfortunately, they now charge for extra peanuts whereas in the past this was offered at no extra charge. The portion is a generous size and could easily be two meals if you weren't super hungry. The chicken and broccoli was not too good. The chicken was noticeably tougher, and the dish actually had very little flavor. I really enjoyed the wagyu spring roll. It had a nice crispy exterior with a flavorful interior filling. However, it was truly TINY. Overall, this was a decent dining experience and I enjoyed at least 50% of what I ordered. read more

Big place with plenty of seating. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Came in to get lunch to go and didn't have to wait too long. I went with a kung pao chicken bowl with fried rice. The chicken was a little too big but nothing you can't cut. Everything was tasty and they definitely give you more than enough food. I didn't even finish the rice. Parking in front of the building is a little tight especially with the coffee drive through traffic. I hate to give this place a 3 out of 5, because the food was pretty good and the guys cooking/young lady that rung us up were great. But it was not the cleanest in the dining area, which, I might add is pretty big. So plenty of seating. But what I think this place needs is more front end workers. I noticed that the same young lady that rang us up was also responsible for delivering the food to the table, packing up the food for to-go orders, and cleaning the dining room. They can be alot for one person especially when there have been larger parties leaving big, and I mean big messes. When we got ready to leave I did see another person helping clean up, but at that point it was so messy, it didn't make much of a difference. Now the food. It was pretty good. I ordered the Spicy Korean BBQ Steak (add mushrooms) with a veggie spring roll and my boyfriend ordered the Firecracker Chicken. The main complaint I would say I had is that I asked to add mushrooms and I may have been able to count the number of mushrooms in the dish. Sadly they didn't have the citrus green tea that I love so much, I asked about it and was told they would be getting it again, they were just out. I had the chopped chicken salad, my usual. I ordered the orange chicken with white rice on Saturday April 11th. I noticed that the rice seemed hard like it had been sitting in the rice cooker for a while and the Orange chicken didn't taste like it normally should. A few hours later, I developed bad stomach pains and unable to keep anything in my stomach and this is now going on 2 days, which are consistent with foodborne illness. We've been curious to try this place out. So, last night, we had a promo to use, that was expiring, so we got the bourbon chicken, $10.99, over fried rice, upgrade, $2.19, the broccoli and beef, $11.99, over white rice (the substitute is brown rice, which is another option), and the kids meal, $5.99, which includes apple juice or a fountain drink, so our stringbean selected the orange chicken over rice, garnished with two thin orange slices. I scanned my app, to get the points. From the outside, it looks small, but inside the square shape is arranged quite efficiently, with booth seating along the left wall, and tables/chairs on the inside, and there is outside seating, as well. When we sat down, the nice lady cleaned it for us. Other employees were also cleaning other tables as the customers left. Order at the front for dining-in and for takeout, located, at the right side, upon entering through the doors. The lady at the front was very nice. There is a tip jar at the counter. If you order for dining in, they bring your food to your table. The fountain drinks are at the middle back for the restaurant. The bathrooms are to the far left back of the restaurant. I'd categorize this restaurant as "Fast/Casual." As we were eating, I saw a huge flame, as a new dish was being cooked. The kitchen, located at the far right side, near the counter, is semi-open (if that makes sense). There were two other parties as were seated, having dinner. The good points: The flavor of the beef and broccoli was amazing. Though it didn't look quite look like the picture (was a bit darker), it was very tasty. The texture almost reminded me of tocino, texture-wise (for my peeps, you will know what I'm saying). Our son enjoyed his orange chicken kids meal (but then again, his favorite is chicken). The fried rice upgrade might've been better with the beef dish, which was less saucy. My favorite was the beef and broccoli dish. I think that the kids meal is a really good value at $5.99, an entree over rice, with a fountain drink. The lower points: Hubby said that the dishes didn't look like the picture, the quantity (added that it's a little misleading). He said that the rice was easily two to one, with the entree. The bourbon chicken, although tasty, was a tad on the super sweet side (I don't think that we would get that again). Hubby said he kept getting fat, but with chicken thigh meat, I think, you have to expect a bit more fat. Hubby said that he expected to have leftovers, but we only took home the remainder of our son's rice. With our first visit, we already earned a free entree (rice, noodle or salad dish), which expires in two weeks. It's a good thing I downloaded the APP, so we'll be back. read more

Since my usual Chinese food spot up and left after thanksgiving, been on the hunt for something comparable. Usually not a fan of chain restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised with Pei Wei. You would be surprised how many places only carry spring rolls so the boyfriend was happy when he had the option to choose chicken or pork. Anyway, placed an online order for pickup, and did 30 minutes but i arrived early and they were still making my order which was great because no one wants their food just sitting there getting soggy from the steam. First up, fried rice and chicken low mein which my boyfriend enjoyed but he said it tasted better the next day. I ordered the Firecracker tofu which i thought was great because with tofu many places do not give a variety of options around that base. I enjoy it because tofu basically just absorbs the flavours of the dish. This was delicious on day one, but reheating the next, eh not so much. Wouldn't recommend microwaving this one, haha. I also got the kids' order of the orange chicken as a test to see if i would like it, sure did and honestly was the perfect amount of food for me. Pei Wei also gives a sugar-free apple juice in the kid's meals for a healthy choice which is excellent, but yes, there was definitely no sugar in it. (lol, yuck) Everything I ordered was to go, the containers and portions sizes were perfect. Prices are reasonable, more than Panda Express, but the quality and portions sizes are better/bigger. Orange Chicken was the only dish to tasty close to authentic. Constructively... all other entrees were cooked with excessive amounts of oil... very unhealthy! Reena, the person in charge, greeted us, took our order, delivered it to our table in a short amount of time and made sure we were happy with our order. We were much more than happy! I had the new Firecracker Shrimp which was better than anything I ever had at P.F. Chang's or the Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish Grill.
