I Do love this place but for the first time I bought, what I thought was, the half size Chinese chicken salad. It turns out that it's half of a half size and it's for $11. For the full size it's like $7 more. It's better to buy the full size and waste it than to buy the small size for the price. This should be like $8 since it's 1/3 of the actual size. My go to healthy choice for breakfast and lunch. I consistently order the Cobb salad or the chopped salad and add chicken because their house made balsamic dressing is delicious. They even sell it by the bottle. Their watermelon juice is fresh and offered year round. They make a different soup daily. My favorite is the mushroom soup, but I order it every time because all of their soups are piping hot and fresh. By far my favorite small business that I have supported since they opened, even before they opened up a few franchise stores in the valley. This was my first time visiting a Rachel's kitchen after hearing RAVING reviews from friends. It's a super cute spot, not a ton of seating but if you're going for a quick lunch there's enough places to sit. I will say that everyone I talked to recommended the Mac and cheese and it did NOT disappoint!!! It was so creamy, the flavors with the mushrooms was incredible, and the portion size was great. 10/10 will absolutely be back for more!! We also got a smoked turkey and avocado sandwich which was alright, the fries were honestly soft and desperately needed salt. We also got a soup and sandwich combo, the sandwich was the turkey club which was nothing special and the cream of mushroom soup was honestly terrible and I left it behind it tasted like mushroom broth, nothing creamy about it. Overall will I come back? I would definitely make a stop for the Mac and cheese and maybe try out some of their other hot items. So first off I came here after a while to claim my buy one get one entrée for my birthday. Ultimate grilled cheese is always so good. I always had avocado. It's just really good with it. The french fries are usually good. I might have to start getting them extra crispy because by the time I eat them, they're super soggy. The pear salad it's interesting. It's good but that dressing doesn't make sense. It taste like it has curry in it. That being said this time was a decent experience. One item was good. One item was OK. Apparently you can't order fresh pressed juice 15 minutes before closing because the staff doesn't want to take the time to clean the juicer after the restaurant closes. Walked in at 4:45pm and the juicer was already put away, so one would assume it's been cleaned and put away for at least 15 minutes prior. Therefore, it's probably safer to say to not expect any fresh pressed juice 30 minutes before closing. Usually when you put your business hours are until 5pm, you're open for business until 5pm. They have Coke Zero at the soda fountain - yay! We had the Chicken Caesar Wrap, with the salad side, and the Curry Chicken Wrap with the fruit salad side. The wraps were a good size, and I was able to save half of my wrap for later. The Caesar wrap was good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the atmosphere. It is such an odd shape and I got the feeling it was still a COVID layout. Very spread out and weird shaped restaurant. There was no music playing which I really like a little background noise. The patio looks nice, but it's just too hot to sit outside. The service was fine. I did appreciate they did not ask for a tip upfront. That drives me nuts. I am avoiding restaurants that do that. We ordered the signature salad with grilled chicken, the turkey club sandwich and the smoked turkey / avocado sandwich. Everything was really good and fresh. We've been eating at Rachel's Kitchen at the Summerlin Trails location for the past 16 years; dining in or ordering to go at least once a week and sometimes 2-3 times per week. But after finding hair in the Chinese chicken salad not once but twice over the past couple to-go orders, we haven't been back. We've seen this location go through its ups and downs over the years and we've always been able to stay loyal customers. But it seems this location has been on a downward spiral the past year or so. As if the unfriendliness of the employees (more often than not) and the progressive cleanliness issues wasn't enough to steer clear, finding hair in food twice in a row was the last straw for us. Was on the hunt for a simple breakfast sandwich. Settled for a breakfast burrito with a side fruit salad and a greens juice. I felt so healthy! The green juice was perfect and had that ginger tang. The burrito was really big. It was the perfect combo of hot egg, cold salsa and sliced avocado. They served it cut in half already which I loved. I ate half and took half to go. I initially didn't have an opinion on this place but I just kept coming back over and over again. Not only do I go in person but I also order thru Door Dash regularly. They have not let me down yet with their smoothies & juices. My "go to" drinks would be their Açaí Berry Smoothie & Sweet Green Juice. They aren't chalky or taste diluted. Just the right amount of sweetness that leaves me craving for more. They do have a hefty menu but I only tried a few like their Rachel's Mac & Cheese (it's crawling with mushrooms and onions) and their Vegetarian Sandwich (gotta love goat cheese). So I've ordered Rachel's a few times by delivery in the Centennial hills which was very tasty but not worth the price markups. Upon dining in, the Summerlin location was literally empty, which is fine as there was no wait but odd given the time of day. It surprised me they weren't busier. Here are my thoughts... Cons -seating was very awkward as the benches were almost as high as the tables, forcing you to hunch over awkwardly which forced us to sit separately as a family so we could sit in regular chairs. -a lot of the tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped down. -Not a very comfy vibe -soup of the day, broccoli was very watered down and bland Pros -staff was very friendly -Rachel's kitchen entrees are really so delicious, and taste home cooked. Their pasta offers a different flavor than I've had anywhere else. -despite the high prices of their menu, the portions are very generous and enough to share and even have some leftovers. I would come here again if they changed the interior seating options to something a little cozier, we're more attentive to cleanliness of tables between customers, and if they offered some deals or coupons. read more

I used to love their chicken salad sandwich. It was very satisfying with lots of chicken. Somehow the recipe has changed to becoming a chunky apple sandwich with very few pieces of chicken anymore. Check out the pictures. The chunks of apple that are in the container are only the ones that fell out of the sandwich as I was eating it. I probably consumed an entire apple.
