I came to Peju Winery with my girlfriend and friends for New Year's. This was our 2nd time coming to Peju, the first being the previous New Year's. We came because we were doing one of the Culinary Experiences. I will say first, as someone who traditionally just shovels food into my mouth, this was an experience to remember. My girlfriend and I showed up early, and were given a couple glasses of champagne while we waited for the rest of our party which was nice. Our tasting board consisted of a lobster ball, potato fritata with saffron sauce, roast beef with horseradish sauce sandwhich, dunk confit pastry, and a goat cheese cannoli, each pair with a wine. Our host's name was Joseph, and boy was the class with his presence and energy in it. I will say that it was definitely an experience to remember, and I would love to do another one in the future. If it fits within your budget, I would highly recommend this experience, and I look forward to returning in the future. Go check them out! read more

What a fun winery! My friend is a wine club member and planned an entire girls day in the Napa area to do wine tasting and it including going to the wine club release part at Peju. I was not expecting the celebration that entailed. The theme was Oscar Night and we had fun name tags, walked down a red carpet, got pictures taken by the 'paparazzi' and were greeted with glasses of bubbly. The venue is super cute as well, the building reminds me of a hobbit house. When I stepped in, it was so much bigger inside than I had anticipated. Seriously this place goes on and on and on and on... you get the picture. I absolutely loved the beautiful stone floors and counters as well as the wood ceilings. It was visually appealing. Everyone was very friendly and made the entire day fun. We didn't receive bad service from anyone. I especially enjoyed talking to the wine maker, she was so full of information and very friendly. I enjoyed everyone one of the red wines I tried. And especially loved the champagne cocktail they were sampling the day of the event. I also enjoyed the grounds, there were so many little areas to hang out. I absolutely loved the area in the vineyards, it would be a great place on another beautiful day to hang out with friends and share a bottle (or two, who am I kidding?) with friends. Overall, I will have to say this would be one of the few, if not the only winery in Napa I would want to go back to. So welcoming, great wine and beautiful grounds. read more

Wine: 6/10 Service: 6/10 Views/scenery: 8/10 You get to taste 6 different wines and none of them were too special. The best one was their "special" reserve, a Cab from 2015 and even then, it was decent at best. The pours were very minimal and our wine pourer/guide was Robert. He wasn't rude but definitely didn't seem like he wanted to be there. He'd stop by to give tiny pours and would skimp on the last glass because the wine bottle ran empty. Instead of opening a new bottle to give a fair pour, he just left my boyfriend's glass barely having anything. He also would say maybe one or two things about the wine he was pouring and then just walk off and type on his laptop. I will say that the fountains and grounds are beautiful though. How on earth does this place have an average 4 stars on Yelp? I don't get it! We stopped by on a whim after visiting Caymus and Cakebread. We were hypnotized by the gorgeous grounds and lush landscaping. It is truly beautiful. We made our way in and we were told that " we were in luck! a tasting was about to begin"" imagine that! After coming from 2 SEATED tastings at the aforementioned wineries it was a little odd to stand elbow to elbow with a bunch of rowdy people and "bartender". The "bartender" spoke a thousand miles per hour spitting out facts about the wines we were tasting and poured wine after wine mixing white and red and then white again all in the same glass with barely any time to sip or pour them out. We were also given a ticket to follow along with that had all the prices. Are people rating this place by the wine taste or by the locale? The wines all tasted watered down and just lacked any kind of character. After that experience we shopped around their very cute shop and ended up buying some beautiful engraved artwork for our house. Therefore, grounds, structure and shops get 5 stars. Fantastic winery! I was there a week ago with husband and mom for her first time visiting Napa and I'm so glad we took her to Peju! We got our tasting last minute since this was not a planned, but the experience was unforgettable! Scott went out of his way to help my mom find wines she enjoyed. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, funny and just all around a great host! We also had a pleasant conversation with Harvey after our tasting and were left impressed with his knowledge and charismatic personality! The wines? An experience in themselves. We ventured out on a last minute reservation due to limited availability on Christmas Eve. I was excited because it's a cute looking winery and has good reviews. Overall our host had an interesting way of pouring for us. Started out a bit reserved and then got into the wines with us and became more friendly. I always like to ask if there's a way to waive the tastings since as we all know they're quite pricey. We just came from Chateau Monetelena and I loved how straight forward they are with letting you know how everything works and you don't feel bad for asking to do the same. Here I asked and was quoted 6 bottles...which is quite hefty but they do have a mixture with various price points. Maybe it's my fault for assuming you see two of us drinking that that's what's I meant but only one tasting was waived. I've tried to reach out to their customer care through email and have not received any response. I understand that it's the holidays so I decided to give them sometime to reply but nothing as of yet. Anyway we left with mixed reviews. The wines were all fine and of course the reserves are the best. The grounds are pretty and so are the tasting rooms. "White Elite" vibes. We made mistake by taking outside food to this winery and eating in one of their outside tables. Mistake is ours. But the way they said to take our food out and finish are return is "We are elite you are an ignorant Asian". But others in the wine tasting are polite and respectful. Beautiful sitting outside in the shade, socially distanced, with great wine and a friendly helpful server...what more could anyone want?! Our experience was terrific. We don't often join wine clubs, but we thought this was worth it! We were shown the room with the magnificent stained glass, with wine bottle series to match. The sculptures on the grounds were also interesting. This a family owned winery that takes pride in everything they do. Okay so today me and some friends visited Peju. We where actually driving by and seen the sign and turned around! So the grounds are absolutely gorgeous beautiful statues, amazing fountains, and a tower to make your social media photos get all the likes. We where given a splash of rose' while we waited which was bold with a hint of sweet after taste. We waited for our tasting(we did not have a reservation) for about thirty minutes. That time was quickly passed by walking the grounds and enjoying the views. Everyone obeyed social distancing and yes you do need your mask! The tasting was hosted by Nancy. Very welcoming, personable, and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions from harvesting to pairing. The tasting included 5 wines. All prove to suit each persons preference. We where in a group of 4, socially distant just for the curios people. We bought three bottles of wine appropriately priced. The tasting cost $45.00. The wines are different prices. But if you buy three wines your tasting is covered! We will be back for another tasting and hopefully with Nancy! read more

Such a hospitable bunch here! I made a reservation for a private tasting for my big family trip of 12 adults, and they gave us a nice, big tasting room all to ourselves. My family was running a whole half hour late, and while my husband and I were already there, they did not give us hard time at all (which I come to expect from Napa wineries if you are running late). Alex, the manager was so sweet, so kind and even started us off with their rose sparkling wine. He came back to check in again 15mins later, and offered us chocolates, and some treats that they have inside, if we were interested. Alex is so friendly, I cannot thank him enough to make me and my family feel so welcomed at Peju. I read that it was dog friendly and brought our goldie with us. Unfortunately, because it is carpet upstairs in the tasting room, dogs were not allowed, so we left him outside. But, Alex checked on our dog twice for us and came back up to let us know, our dog was doing fine. He even offered some water for our doggies, but we had already filled his water bowl. Once my family arrived, we were brought upstairs by Jean, to our private tasting room. The tasting menu had 4 wines, but we were able to try a totally of 6 in our tasting, for $40pp. I thoroughly enjoyed their wines, and definitely appreciated the complimentary breadsticks and water as well. Jean did a good job describing the wines to us, and giving us enough time to enjoy each tasting. Personal favorites, and the ones we walked out of here with: Provence (fun, chilled, red- so unique and drinkable), Piccolo, and Merlot (bold merlot that resembles a cab). All their wines we tasted were affordable, everyday drinkers. The entire experience here was very enjoyable, wines were great, and they took care of my dog. The entire package earned them 5 stars for me. However, I did dock off one star because majority of wineries wave a tasting fee or two, if you purchase wine. The group of us collectively bought a case (12) of wines, and none of the fees were waived. Not sure if I'm too use to being spoiled by other wineries that do, but I was surprised they didn't. NEVER AGAIN This used to be one of my favorite wineries - they had a really good Merlot at one time. Since I last went to Napa - a few years ago - Peju has sextupled their prices. Now they charge a $40 'basic' fee just to taste a few of their wines, if you want to taste all of them it's $115. I kid you not. $115 for a few sips of wine - per person! So, we decided on the Cabernet Sauvignon - which was not bad, but pricey at $60/bottle - at least that waves the expensive tasting fee... right? Wrong! They didn't bother to mention, until we were ready at the cash register, that now you must buy at least SIX bottles of wine to wave the tasting fee! If we bought six bottles of the Cab that would be $360 to save the 'basic' $40 tasting fee. Needless to say we walked out of there feeling robbed and didn't look back. I think the word GREED sums up their philosophy perfectly. read more

What a beautiful estate!! The property outside has a great design, the copper entry way in the garden is such a nice touch to tie in the copper roof. Inside you can go upstairs for a little history of the family that has owned and run the winery. The wine was pretty good, im not a huge fan of wine on the sweeter side but I found a glass with a bold taste and chose a great bottle to go home with. read more

A-Ok is pretty much the perfect way to describe this winery. Unlike the other wineries I visited on a day-long tour, I'd have to say Peju was the most manufactured. They have the largest store - could be a "pro" or a "con" - and lots of people to help, including one person who sang as he poured... Allen, who was at my tasting table, seemed to be putting on a show. With all this said, they were probably the most generous with their wine portions, and, I mean, if you were looking for a wine-related gift for a friend, this would be the place to get it. read more

After recommendations from an esteemed colleague and our helpful concierge, we were anxious to visit the Peju Province Winery. Shockingly, a visit to this smaller estate did not require a reservation, but that must have been because they had the whole procedure down pat. Each visitor strolled through the lovely entrance way garden and inside of the heavy doors, where they ended up in a delightful shop full of Peju homemade sauces, salsas, and so on, as well as other gourmet accessories. Groups of patrons explored the wares while awaiting their turn in the tasting room. In fact, after sampling their tangy sesame mustard spread, I was hooked and just had to bring home a jar. Our wait only lasted a few moments, and we were soon ushered into the beautiful sampling space with its sturdy wooden accents and historic stained glass. Our gracious host for the event was a hysterical older man named Alan, who regaled us with alcohol-related rap songs, jokes, and other kooky conversational tidbits. He actually asked each member of our small group where they were from, taking an interest in us and forming a bond between the drunken bunch. While the wine blends were more complex and unique than most, the mixtures did not seem to mesh well. Each glass was pleasing, but none excited me to the point of purchase. We adored Peju's streamlined process and amiable service. The Winery's commitment to exotic blends and dedicated customers was very comforting. Uhm, I've driven past Peju a thousand times and never popped in until this past Dec/Jan wine trip. Why? I don't know but we finally hit it up and I could not have been more pleased. When we arrived at Peju and were told that it was a specific-tasting time kinda place I was worried that we'd be in for a corporate kind of tasting experience. Fortunately that was not the case! If I didn't belong to so many wine clubs, I'd add Peju in a heartbeat. Every thing we tasted was really delicious, especially their Rose and Red varietals. Other high points: The gentleman pouring could not have been nicer. The stain glass window inside is really pretty. I like that the wines here come at a price for people on every budget. Their grounds are nice, especially cool are those bizarre branch-like trees that border one side of the driveway. The castle exterior is a wee bit faux looking (check out my pic!) but I like the kitsch of it. We drove past Peju later that night after dinner and the lights were beautiful. I still curse my better half for not pulling me over to let me play photographer. Damn you! Overall, a great find. Or rather, I'm glad I finally gave this place a shot. read more

This was my first wine tasting experience ever. I had no idea how to pick a winery but the giant trees were so intriguing to me that I chose it based on that. The wine tasting experience for $50 did not disappoint. Scott has been with this winery for over 20 years and was very knowledgeable and kind. I'm sure I was a mess and such an amateur trying to grasp the complexity of their Sauvignons but he was very understanding. You can't get their wines in any stores so make sure to pick up some bottles. I sent home a sparkling rose and their famous Provence (my favorite out of the entire tasting) to a good friend for her belated birthday/Christmas present as she's born on Xmas. This is an absolutely beautiful property! Inside the stained glass wall is stunning and the art walk in the gardens is wonderful also. The wine was decent. The experience seemed a bit rushed, not to say our server was in anyway impolite or unwelcoming, it just seemed they needed to finish in a quick time frame for another group to come in behind us. We had tasted all the wines and were leaving in about 40 minutes. Full disclosure, they do let you know ahead of time it is a 45 minute experience, it just went really fast! I always have a great experience at Peju! The wine is delicious (the cab is my favorite) and reasonably priced. I love that they also do food pairings such as a cheese plate. Harvey always takes great care of us, is attentive, knowledgeable, and hilarious! If you love rose', or a delish Cabernet, you should definitely visit! We stopped by here randomly on a Tuesday after we had a tasting at domaine Carneros and are so glad we did! I try to visit different wineries now while in napa as we end up limiting ourselves to what napa valley has to offer. Peju is such a gorgeous property and that alone makes you want to visit however their customer service is excellent. I've gone to cakebread and st. Suprey yet never stopped by here so I'm glad we had this opportunity! We arrived without a reservation and 1 hour prior to close but Debbie was so accommodating! Not only was she so pleasant and informative, she gave us an extra pour of the rose which we ended up purchasing! She really paid attention to what my mil likes and tried to find what was good for her palate! I usually enjoy heavy bold cabs but but calmere Chardonnay was also wonderful on this hot day! And my mil loved the Province red/white blend! We purchased 3 bottles as it waived the tasting but I thinking pricing wise Peju is pretty comparable to lost napa wineries which charge about $40-$45 average per tasting. They were however not stingy with their pours and allowed us to try a few not on the tasting menu. We had a chance to walk around the property before we left and truly had a an exceptional wine tasting experience! read more
