We searched yelp to find a good lunch spot in the area to enjoy on our way north to a park on the lake. Pekadill's sounded promising and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better than we expected. The building itself is quaint and attractive. The front is decked out like a vintage ice cream parlor and serves West Michigan's own Hudsonville ice cream. The sandwich menu is fairly extensive, with nearly 40 sandwiches and several salad and soup options. Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to skip the indoor dining rooms and head out back to the patio. We were delighted to find a beautiful and interesting garden with tables tucked here and there. After a short wait our food arrived at our table, and it was delicious. Our lunch companions made several comments about the lovely spot and the great tasting food. Both the breads and fillings were good quality, though the bagged chip selection was a little underwhelming. As an alternative, Pekadill's offers "hot apples" on the side, which we're interested in trying on a cooler day. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

Pekadill's is a great little old fashioned deli in the beautiful, small Lake Michigan resort town of White Hall, MI. They have great sandwiches and ice cream, and a wonderful garden patio area for outside dining. My wife used to eat here as a child in the early 1990s while in dock on boating trips. She says nothing has changed, and when you're there it does feel a bit like going back in time. read more

This is one of my favorite places in Whitehall! I love their sandwiches and the soup is to die for!! My favorite soup is the Wisconsin Cheese! In the summer you can sit outside in their garden while enjoying a huge ice cream cone. This restaurant has great, great sandwiches & soup! I absolutely love their tuna and I also love the beef & bird! I never had soup I didn't like and the chili is phenomenal! My grandkids love the ice cream but I have to have sugar-free, or Dole whip which they really don't have any of that. You'll love the owners, John & Sue and the girls working there are all sweet too. Sandwiches and homemade soups are AMAZING! Sides are also very good. Even with their 4" sandwich meal, you get more food than a person should eat in one sitting. Go here! We were just passing through and decided to try Pekadill's. We both tried a cup of the chicken dumpling soup and agreed that it was very good, almost as good as my granny used to make. They have a good sandwich selection/salads/soups/hotdogs along with ice creams that looked wonderful. The half sandwich with the soup was great on a cold day and more than enough food. Service is deli style, order at the counter get your food and pay at the end. Two more dining areas at the back one with a good toasty stove. Staff is friendly and the place is kept clean I will be adding this place to our stop when traveling north. We almost settled for a place closer to the middle of town, I'm so glad we stuck it out and ended up at this place. I gave them 4 stars because it is very good I reserve 5 stars for exceptional. read more

We've eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks. First night was sandwiches, which were first rate. The Hudsonville ice cream for dessert was also excellent. The second trip, we hit Saturday chicken and ribs night. The ribs are barbecued on site and are fabulous. Cheesy potatoes on the side were also great. Make sure your sit in the gardens. I was at the Babbitt's Christmas Party that was catered by Pekadill's last night. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. They did a great job of making the Party a very nice occasion. \ The dishes they presented were a very nice salad and scalloped potatoes and barbecue ribs and chicken and a great dessert of Apple pie or brownies. read more

Pekadill's is a cute sandwich and ice cream shop located in a white frame building with large front porch - just like a general store out of the early 20th century. My husband enjoyed the vegetarian croissant and side of homemade scalloped apples. I had a delicious French dip and a portion of dilled coleslaw as my side. One of the nicest features of Pekadill's is that you can order exactly the size sandwich you wish - small, medium or large. We capped our meal by sharing a hot fudge brownie sundae with Ashby's Michigan Pothole ice cream - YUM! The employees were friendly and the service quick. There's a beautifully landscaped rear garden and deck with tables so you can enjoy your meal outdoors or elect to sit in one of the pleasant indoor dining areas - one even has a cast iron stove for those chilly winter days.
