Our server showed us to the table with no greeting or smile, just a quick drink order. The buffet itself was sparse and looked tired--most trays had only a few items, and very little appeared fresh. I tried to stick to the newly replenished dishes, but even that felt like a gamble. The moment that sealed it: my buddy accidentally dropped an egg roll on the floor, placed it at the end of the buffet bar, and grabbed the last one. Minutes later, I returned to find that same dropped egg roll had been put back into the serving bin. That raised serious concerns about food safety and cleanliness. This restaurant is the best place to go to if you want to never see your date again. You come in greeted with a local crack head in the perfectly curated vestibule. After that, you enter a new world. Are you in Plainfield? Or somewhere... other worldly. Be sure to check out the sushi station to show your date how adventurous you are with the 2 very stale and soggy pieces that she will force you to eat. Then make your way around to the crab ragoon station where if you ever wanted to try an exquisite dog pelt lather it in the sweet and sour sauce. There's nothing I can say about this place that is good. It used to be good about 10 years ago but not in the past 5. You go in and it is dark because half of the lights are turned off. It is dirty with sticky tables and I've seen cleaner bathrooms in a gas station. The food is terrible, it is not hot and looks and tastes like it was leftover from the day before and It is soaking in oil . The sushi was slimy and had a very bad taste,I spit it out because I didn't want to get food poisoning. I highly recommend that you go somewhere else. read more

I saw a roach on the wall here. As you know there is never just one roach. They travel in COLONIES. When my friend and i told the lady about it she proceeded to tell my friend that they get exterminators in ONCE A MONTH... how big is the problem really if you get exterminators once a month?! Before my girlfriend had sat down from using the restroom to start eating I was already telling her that we need to go. All of the food was either overcooked, undercooked, or just gross. My girlfriend told me to hold on then found a hair inside of her crab Rangoon and then she was with me in one bite. The manager told us to pay 38 dollars or she would call the cops. Being that we had been in there all of 5 minutes we called for them. We still ended up paying 20 dollars as to not cause a scene with the police. I've never walked out of a restaurant before. Simply nasty...... a couple of years ago I went to it and the food was shriveled up and seemed like it had been sitting there all day. We decided not to go there again. Recently decided to give it a try again, as things might have improved. Mainly stopped there as the other buffet was closed, and we did not want to drive far. The condition was worse than before, the food trays were looking old. A few items were very old-looking, and a few of them were just empty. I was having dessert and found green mold-like growth in it as I was about to bite it. This is it. Never again. The worst Chinese place I have been to. The lady, I think who is the owner, is in her own world, and it never feels welcoming or happy there. She had the nerve to charge us full price after what we experienced. Horrible food. Egg rolls were mushy, and dry. Ribs were too tough to chew. Shrimp and fishy were greasy and cold. The vegetables and rice were only thing edible. The noodles were like rubber, the crab Rangoon's and spring rolls were made 2-3 days ago and thrown into a deep fryer to be warmed up. The quality seems to have gone down in recent months. Overall, it's Indiana strip mall Chinese food- so keep your expectations minimal. It had been over a year since I'd been, and I probably won't be back. The tea was murky, the selection on the Mongolian grill bar was limited, the crunchy noodles for the soup were stale. My dinner companion said the rice in the sushi tasted sour. Meh. The service was solid and the wait staff are always very pleasant and attentive. The sign outside only lights up halfway and it speaks to the general attitude that seems to have taken over. Typical Indiana Chinese buffet. They have 2 rows of hot entree foods, 1 row of cold items/salad, 2 half rows of dessert, and a sushi bar and Mongolian grill. I haven't tried the grill, but everything else is fine. Crab legs, ice cream machine, Coke products. As with most buffets, it's best when it's busy because things are fresh. If you come at an off time, things will be less appetizing but still edible. Service is good. I have noticed I'm not a fan of chocolate desserts at Chinese buffets - almond cookies and cream puffs are AOK. read more

This place was absolutely sh**. The chicken tasted like fu**ing rubber. Definitely came from one of the rubber Chickens at Walmart. All the food I had was most likely over 3 days old. My girlfriend looked at everyone had the table and held up a peice of black hair that came out of her chicken. The only person with black hair was still getting food. It was all so stringy. The crab legs were wet as fu**. They definitely took it to the bathroom and pissed all over it before they served it. After I ate my hands smelled like straight fish. Even the actual ocean smells better. And when we were telling the server how bad this place was she was smiling and laughing under her breath but didn't have enough to tell us straight to our face. Coworkers and I decided to eat lunch at PCB due to a recommendation from another friend. Located in a suburban style strip mall kinda has the feel of so many other Chinese/American style buffet. Nothing about the food or atmosphere of the place is that much different or special. Fair price and clean place warrants a 3 stars instead of 2, so really should be 2.5. At first glance, it looked like the food might be pretty good, so after I gave the buffet the once-over, we opted to eat here. Most of the food I had ended up being cold or at least below the temperature it should have been. As for the sushi, it looked just plain scary. The salmon and shrimp both had some odd colorations. There were some things that I did enjoy. I liked the fried dumplings. They were some of the best I've had on any buffet. The lo mein was also pretty good. That's where it ends. Everything else I had (and I had a whole plateful of food) was just bad. Some of the lowlights included the bacon wrapped shrimp. It had to be the limpest bacon I've ever eaten on those poor little shrimp. The cheesy mussels were also inedible. I didn't even try after seeing their consistency. The little bitty scallops were tasteless. I could go on. The service was fine. She kept our drinks full and out plates cleared. We did it to ourselves. We saw the reviews but decided to come here anyway. It was 6:44 when we pulled into the parking lot where there was only one parked car. But we were starving and shrugged it off. We walked in and only saw three people in the restaurant and they were all at the same table. We ignored also ignored this sign and decided to stay. There was no music playing and thinking back this is probably because the sound of sadness was so loud. We got our food, sat down, and immediately after our first bites we stared at each other both in silence and disbelief. Every one of our choices was cold, tough to chew, and tasted like it was doused in nothing but soy sauce. The steamed rice somehow melted in our mouths and formed into a sad ball of goo. We ended up getting up and paying our $75 bill (for four of us) plus tip and going somewhere else. We've been here a few times. The food is consistent and pretty flavorful. The dishes actually taste different vs. just the same sticky sweet taste over various proteins and veggies. The veggies in the dishes are crisp and fresh. There's a good variety of stir-fried or sauteed dishes. It's a nice change from everything being deep fried. (I'm not saying this food is good for you, it's not.) The staff are nice and keep drinks full. The last time we went here was a weekday evening. We dropped a vehicle off for service and decided to stop in. The buffet was full and hot, but the problem was that all restaurant guests were shoved into one small section of the dining room. My assumption is that they wanted to keep the other side clean and use less staff, but it was cramped, loud and hot. In a plate service setting, I'm sure it would have been different, but everyone in this room had to get up and go to the buffet. There was no avoiding bumping into each other or having people bump into the back of your seat. Here's the breakdown: They've got the best sushi bar in a Chinese buffet on the west side (that I've tried so far). For non sushi fans, they've got a great assortment of chicken and seafood dishes, including salmon, humorously labeled "Salmon fish." One of the rare buffets I've seen with a "steamed broccoli" option sans heavily sauced meats. Occasionally the bacon on the bacon-wrapped-shrimp (not deveined) is undercooked, but the General Tso's Chicken is always on point. And let's be honest with ourselves... the only thing that matters is the General. Service is quick and not necessarily friendly. The tables and chairs are clean enough as long as you don't touch the undersides. It gets 4 stars from me for two reasons: Sushi and great Gen. Tso. Simple as that! read more
