The one is located in a small strip mall and has a private lot that it shares with the other business in the mall. This place serves sushi, Korean Fried Chicken, Japanese ramen, and features make your own Mongolian stir fry. I always opt for the stir fry. The restaurant has a decent sized dining area and the staff is friendly enough. My interaction with them was limited but in my brief interaction they did their job, nothing more, nothing less. Back to the sir fry. So, you get a bowl and load it up with noddles or rice, then your choice of proteins, vegetables, and sauces. After you got it just the way you want it, you drop it off for them to grill. They move pretty quick. I got my entre in less than 8 minutes. It was really good and reasonably priced. This restaurant is a nice change of pace from fast food for me. I wish I made it here more often. The food is really good and I get to put my creativity to the test while I am here. I have been to this Yummy Bowl location several times. I haven't written my review before now due to health issues. I do alot of to-go sushi orders. This place though is so, so good. The staff is nice and constantly on top of your drink refills. You can either order sushi or do the Yummy Bowl. If you do the bowl right you have leftovers for a few meals. You go through a line and pack your bowl with noodles, veggies of your choice, egg, and meat or seafood. You get to choose what you want in the bowl or don't want in the bowl. At the end you season it the way you want, and add sauce which there is probably 20 different sauces. You give them the bowl and they Wok cook it right there and bring it to your table. You fill out the card with your table# and name. On the card you can get white, brown it more fried rice. I usually get brown or white, but on the side the rice. The yummy sauce is this creamy sauce which is delicious that I pour over my bowl. They do have an all you can eat bowl so if you finish your bowl you can go get more. That never happens. The sushi is amazing my favorite is dragon roll, spicy yellow tail and spicy Crab roll. The shrimp tempura with veggies is really good and lightly battered. The prices are very fair especially for the amount of food you get. Don't forget the sake. Kai the manager is always there and is so nice once you get to know him. It's one of my favorite places. This is my first time visiting this particular chain of restaurants but I have been to other build-your-bowl type establishments before. It is the same process. The instructions are well laid out with signage and suggestions. I tried coming to this location before right after 12 noon on a Friday and they were too crowded for me. Today I arrived at 11:35 am and it was much better but the dining room was still 80% full. People must really like the concept and the fresh ingredients. I selected beef, pork, sausage, fish, lobster and shrimp with fried rice. I selected onions, string beans, and carrots for my veggies with teriyaki sauce. I loved that they have the ever popular McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning along with traditional seasonings such as powdered onions and garlic powder. Everything was well cooked and super delicious. I can see why people like to come here. It's fun building different combinations of food to be cooked together. I've already selected my ingredients in my mind for my next visit. For us, half of the fun was watching others pile their bowls recklessly high and try not to dump them. The food was great! I was pretty surprised at how well my bowl turned out. Of course, that's pretty much up to you and your culinary intuition. And it was relatively inexpensive, especially considering the leftovers you will have! They give you a bowl to go to the buffet, you collect the ingredients you want in your finished bowl. You give them the bowl and they cook your items all together. After your bowl is cooked they bring it to you. I have not had good luck with mixing the sauces. My bowls have been pretty bland. I know that is my fault but I wish I they did the sauce differently. You can create a bowl catered exactly to your tastes, add as little or as much of anything as you would like, and it's $11.99 at lunch time? Yes please!! The restaurant was busy when I arrived, but I was seated almost immediately. They have a nice sitting area with several booths on one wall and a bar on the opposite wall. The staff were very friendly and explained the process of ordering a bowl, as it was my first time at the restaurant. They have fresh uncooked ingredients laid out buffet-style, and you go down the line and add the ingredients that you want into your bowl. I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to add because they had lots of options and everything just looked so good! It took around 10 minutes for my bowl to come out cooked, and it was delicious--especially with the Yum-Yum sauce!! I'm sure the other items on the menu are tasty as well, but I have a feeling I'll stick to the bowls for some time. Its a fun way to familiarize yourself with asian flavors if you are not already. My server sat me at the bar with no silverware or chopsticks.....then brought me a sweet-iced tead when I ordered unsweet. She disappeared and I never saw her again to correct that mistake. Nobody ever checked to see if all was good. Ultimately someone else brought me my bill. I'll write it off to an anomolay. We'll see how it goes next time. My friends have been telling me about this place for awhile and I finally got to visit on Thursday evening. It was busy when I arrived but thankfully, my friend already had a table. I got some sushi, the King Kong roll and miso soup to start. The miso soup was ok but the sushi roll was top notch! They then brought out cards and small bowls . Youre meant to write your name on the card and take it and the bowl with you to thegrill/cooking area. Here is where you pile your chosen meats, fish and veggies into the little bowl and then choose your sauces then leave that and your card for them to cook it. Once the cooking is done, they ring a bell and your server brings your prepared dish to your table. Everything was well cooked and delicious. Since I had already had sushi, I took the meal home to eat later and share with my son. The only thing I would day is that it's not designed for anyone with a food allergy as the meals are cooked on the same surface. They do clean it as they go though so no worries about cleanliness. Once you are seated if you want the Mongolia BBQ, you will fill out a card with your name and table number. You then can go to the line, get a bowl and start building your meal. There's so many options, beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, scallops, tofu, and all the veggies you can think of. As you move further down there are the spices and sauces. My friends have a competition as to how much they can pile in their bowls. When you get to the end you leave your bowl there with the card you filled out and head back to your table. They cook it up with white or brown rice and bring it over. They also have a menu you can order from. The food has always been fantastic. This is the first time I have been to a Mongolian cuisine and was quite surprised at the food type. I didn't know Mongolian food included stir fry. They have many vegetarian options and some vegan options too. They don't have too many sauce options like the Flat Top Grill in Northern Indiana but just enough. Their service is good. The only thing was that they did not explain how the place works and we just knew it because one of our colleagues had been there before. The ambience is soft and average loud. When you go to this restaurant, they will bring your bowls and a card to fill in some food options along with restrictions if any. There are pens available on the desk for you to write the card with your name, table number and restrictions. Then you take the bowl with you and go to the buffet location and fill the bowl with your choices. Then choose sauces with small black cups and provide them to the cook. The kitchen is visible from where you sit. There are multiple cooks stir frying the food. I don't think they cook vegetarian food in a wok like other stir fry places. I didn't see any wok. They are located on S. Raceway road and have plenty of parking spaces available. This is a family friendly restaurant and a business casual restaurant. I have been to the Southside Yummys but this was my first time at the Avon location. This was my husband's first time visiting any Yummys. We entered at noon so there was a short 10-minute wait. The hostess was working very quickly cleaning tables. They can easily accommodate large parties with many tables and various booth sizes. We were seated in one of the 2-person booths directly in front of the buffet line. Beer and Wine along with Pepsi products are offered. A Kid's menu is available too. You can order off of the menu or select the Yummy Bowl Classic Stir-fry. We opted for the Yummy Bowl along with 2 orders of the Spicy Crab Rolls (6 per order). If you've never been the hostess gives you a card when you're seated to select your type of rice. Grab a tray and Next Name Starch, Choose Protein, Pick Your Veggie/Fruit, Season Your Protein, Select a Sauce, and lastly Drop Off Your Bowl for the Chef to Stir-Fry. Your stir-fry will be delivered to your table. A Bottomless Bowl is available for those with a larger appetite. One thing I should mention is to fill your bowl as full as you can. The veggies cook down and your cooked bowl doesn't have as much in it. A Lunch Menu is offered Monday through Friday 10:30a - 3:00p. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays are dinner prices. Those wanting to order lunch off the menu can select between two rolls ($8.99) or three rolls ($11.99). All Maki Combos are served with Miso Soup or Salad. We started we create your own bowl me and my husband both started with fried rice then proceeded to fill our bowls with our favorite protein and Vegetables . I started my bowl with salmon crab and shrimp my vegetables were mushroom peppers and eggs I added a hint of sweet and sour sauce. My husband had shrimp chicken beef and some steak with a all the vegetables they had to offer and also a couple of eggs and yum yum sauce . Though I went for sushi, I really like their concept. Yummy bowl has a very nice selection of items on their menu, but I've found that most people are coming for the "buffet" hibachi. You still get the hibachi experience, but you are standing in line while they make it for you and you get more meat options if you want it. I ordered gyoza (pan fried pork potstickers) as a app. I had been craving them for a while so I was happy to see them on the menu. I also ordered the crunchy roll. All were great. My husband's co-worker told him about Yummy Bowl. All he said was "You stand in a long line and the food it good." LOL Thank the universe for Yelp. Years ago Indy had a Mongolian BBQ place and we always enjoyed going there. We went on NYE at 11am and while it was busy, we didn't have to wait long for food bar or getting our bowl back. The server didn't speak very much English, but she was pleasant and did her best to explain what to do. You write your name, table number and check off what kind of rice you want on a small reusable card. You take the small bowl to the food bar and fill it up. I was a little concerned of how small the bowl was, until I saw the actual serving bowl is larger. You can plie as much food as you can in the little bowls. I'm not joking when I say the tiny lady in front of us had at least 3 small bowls of food in hers. IDK why it was stuck in my mind that this was a buffet and I could go back into the line. Yeah. so don't make the same mistake of not putting enough into your bowl. You can also order food off a menu to which we ordered a Godzilla roll. Different seasonings for your meat. You start by choosing which rice (if any) you want as a base. There is also a noodle option at the buffet line, also.
