I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while, especially since I've been eyeing the lemon chicken and no other place seems to carry it out here. It's a thin, battered cutlet topped with a glaze of sorts. I ended up trying the paper wrapped chicken, and it was ok but not what I expected. Growing up, I ate at Tin Sing in Gardena, and theirs was marinated, gingery, boneless thighs. Peking Wok uses ground chicken, and it was kind of spongy. Apparently they fry and boil the packets (I asked). It was better tasting with the sweet and sour sauce. I wouldn't order it again. I ordered the tofu with brown sauce, and it was a surprisingly large portion. There was about half a tray of tofu in it, mixed with baby portabellas, snap peas, thinly sliced carrots, and huge chunks of bamboo. Texture-wise, I like when places make veggies crisp-tender. Everything was fairly soft here. Oh and the tofu had the same texture as the paper wrapped chicken. Lol I bet they'd make a great paper-wrapped tofu here..guaranteed I'd like it more than the chicken. :) The dark sauce was garlicky and not salty. Many restaurants that make brown sauces use too much soy sauce, but that was not the case here. Maybe it's a cultural thing but my waitress was super quiet and therefore hard to hear. She was not personable, there was no "hello" or "thank you" or "come again".... Service was very slow, but this place does slow right because they drop off a bowl of wonton chips and sweet and sour sauce. A highlight for me was the kadashi on top of the sauce. It's Coleman's English Mustard mixed with water. It packs a nice nasally heat akin to wasabi. The restaurant itself is fairly small, and the decor is typical for a sit down Americanized Chinese place. It wasn't memorable or stylish but rather dated. I really liked watching the lone fish in the tank up front. He vacuumed the bottom of the tank with his mouth then shook his body and spat a bunch of rocks out. His natural expression is a grumpy pout. I laughed and laughed. Easily amused? I may just be... Overall, I look forward to returning. I still want to try the lemon chicken, and after reading the menu, the spicy beef and the pork with string beans. I recommend this place especially to groups as the dinner menu is family-style. Actually, the slow service might be good if you come in a group and want to chit chat. We're fairly new to the area and were really happy to find great Chinese food close by. We've tried several dishes and all have been delicious. The mongolian beef was really tender and the sauce flavorful, but not overbearing. The wor wanton soup is full of wontons, chicken and vegetable and the broth is really tasty. This is not your usual Chinese Restaurant. They prepare dishes using the owner's family recipes. The lemon chicken is amazing. A full pounded breast battered, cooked to perfection and thin sliced on an angle. With the most amazing sauce. Honey walnut shrimp is also great. I have never had a bad dish here. It is all good. Food was amazing ! We arrived around 4:30 with a party of 9. Was quick to be seated. Service was quick and attentive. The service here is great and deserves five stars. The waiter and bus staff are very attentive and check on you just enough to keep waters full, but not pester. Love the piano music and the fishtank is beautiful. Unfortunately, the food is just so-so and overpriced. A lot of the food you can tell came frozen and flavor is pretty lacking, the spicy items my kid can eat. The menu has been the SAME for years and years as well and really needs an update. My wife and I have been eating here (and take out) since we moved to this area in 2009. We have never had a dish we didn't like but our go-to choices are shrimp curry, chef Pete's chicken and the best Wor Wonton soup we've ever had. Sautéed veggies- fresh, not over cooked they still had crunch in a light buttery garlic sauce. Orange tofu- crispy outsides with pleasantly soft insides. The orange flavor was great! there's even orange rinds in the sauce. Honey chicken- crispy, hot sweet and the pineapple was sooo good. We have ordered take out from Peking Wok twice now, and each time the food has been delicious, and the service is super friendly and fast. We highly recommend eating here and will absolutely keep doing so! It's a very short drive from Fallbrook and absolutely worth it. The people who own this place used to have a restaurant in south Laguna, right by my in-laws house, we used to get take-out all the time when we would visit. About 10 years ago my in-laws left Laguna and moved out here to Bonsall, and so did the restaurant. Really weird coincidence, but the food, the people and even the decor are exactly the same. This place isn't going to win any awards for authenticity, but it's solid. If you're craving some Kung pao or shrimp with lobster sauce, this is the place. read more

They always do a nice job with fish and I also like their shrimp with walnuts, which is not served overly mayoed or breaded. Cocktails are strong and good. The luncheon menu is also quite large. Both the staff and the food here is great! We have ordered their sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, gyoza, lo mein, and rice. We have enjoyed everything so far, except for the lo mein noddles. My only other Critique is that the fried rice isn't really "fried." It's more lightly sautéed, but nonetheless it's still good. I do find that it is on the pricier side though compared to other similar restaurants. Definitely check this place out if you are local or nearby when passing through the area. read more

We ventured out on a two day get away and found this quaint little establishment nestled in a small shopping center which seemed to have a great variety of eateries and wine tasting venues. Chinese food is one of my favorites and being that this place is Chinese food and has a great curb appeal with a nice covered patio/outdoor seating, we decided to give it a try. We ordered enough food so that we'd have "take-aways" and started with appetizers of both the sampler dish and dumplings......DELICIOUS! Entrees were that of combination fried rice, crispy honey chicken, sweet-and-sour shrimp, and sweet-and-sour chicken. Their dishes were well cooked, perfectly as described and were not over bearing with grease or oil's. Food was delicious and satisfying and we were left with plenty of leftovers which we love! LOL. Our server was extremely professional, polite and she, at the right moment, would inquire as to if we needed anything else and/or our level of satisfaction. Peking Wok in Bonsall is delicious and the wait staff is great. Our waitress really knew the menu. When my boyfriend said he wanted something with lots of vegetables, tons of spice and some meat she was able to rattle off multiple combinations - none of which were quite on the menu. My boyfriend picked one and basically got a custom meal with a spicey sauce he loved. He seriously wanted to drink it like a soup.
