My wife wanted "Chinese food" and I gonged (get it?) her choice of Panda Express. We were planning on going to see a movie and I figured why not try Peking Wok, which is only a few doors down from the theater. Usual items you'd find at other American Chinese restaurants. We ordered the Peter's chicken and soft noodle w/beef. My wife loves orange chicken from Panda Express. Peter's chicken, she said is much better. I tasted and agreed, it was waaay better than Panda Express. Cooked fresh, it was very hot and crunchy. The sauce was a sweet-n-sour type with a little hit of chili. You get a choice of steamed white or fried rice. Also, choice of egg drop corn/hot-n-sour soup or tossed salad. My order of soft noodles w/beef was good. Meat to noodle ratio was spot on. Cooked in a brown sauce that complimented the tender beef and soft noodles perfectly. I'm looking fwd to trying other items for lunch. Remember, they serve Americanized Chinese food. My mother loves this place. I took her here for her 52nd Bday Lunch, We ordered the wasabi shrimp, which is her favorite, the orange chicken, which is my brothers pick, and the house chicken, All entrees come with hot and sour soup. The wasabi shrimp has walnuts and a extremely delicious wasabi sauce/paste which is sweet with a hint of spice. The shrimp were a good size and easily enough to share. The orange chicken had large pieces of chicken and an interesting type of orange sauce, but it was still good. The house chicken.. my mom calls it "light"... but to me it was just okay. Well look no further cause this place is just the same. Below average flavor, little to no seasoning, and soggy chicken/egg plant. Do yourself a favor an order 10+ things so that way you can dip of the 9 bland foods into one of the lucky sauces a dish might come with. Sneaky practice does not comply with the law. While some businesses have been gouging customers with a fee if you use your credit card, far more do not. We won't go back to Peking Wok and will spend our hard earned dollars instead at the competitors that value our business and don't charge us fees for their cost of doing business!!! The law REQUIRES businesses to have a sign posted and clearly visible stating they are charging a fee if you use your credit card, secondly, they then have to print the statement and amount of the fee on your receipt that you can easily see. And lastly, they are not legally permitted to charge a fee for using your debit card. Peking Wok does not have their 'fee policy' posted anywhere in the restaurant. You do not find out until you get your receipt but only if you notice the teeny tiny sentence at the very bottom the receipt that is printed in a faded color you can hardly see while the rest of the print on the receipt is dark black. The sentence is also in very small font, again, quite different from the font size on the rest of the receipt. This is sneaky we believe is meant to hide this 'fee' charge from customers. Seriously?! Check out this delicious martini! Kettle one with homemade pickled fixings! I've never considered a Chinese restaurant as a place to go to for cocktails but it was so incredibly good. Had an early dinner with my family there. The staff is A+ as is the food. We sat outside which was wonderfully social distanced. One of the members of the staff asked if my service dog would like water that he brought out in a dog water dish already filled, that was so nice and I hadn't even asked, they just did that. This is a great place, love the shrimp rolls and the black pepper scallop. They have amazing orange beef as well. We have been dining here for years, and everything has been delicious! I honestly really wish I could give them a higher rating. I know my wife's family really likes this restaurant but I think it's personal palette and experiences. I would like to say their flavors are actually pretty good I think it's just the execution. One of the dishes I ordered was the Hong Kong noodles which said were crispy noodles. Normally the noodles are crispy and actually a bit thinner but the noodles were thick and sadly soft and a bit wet. I understand the sauce can make the noodles wet but normally they aren't completely soft like a lo mein right off the bat. We also orders a white sauce chicken and vegetables and had to ask for extra sauce because it didn't have any sauce on it. Once again the flavors are there I think it's down to personal experiences and to me it's just not the same style as I've had in the past. read more

Peking Wok has become one of our favorite restaurants over the past 10 months. The Walnut Shrimp is truly one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. This specialty dish produces crispy shrimp, cooked to perfection with candied walnuts and homemade wasabi honey sauce. The sauce gives the dish the perfect kick. Another favorite is the pot stickers. The pork is inside is tender and filled with great flavor. And the hot mustard sauce is like no other I've tasted! When the restaurant started offering curbside pick up, my husband and I decided to try the food. It is comforting to know that this establishment follows public health guidelines and I could feel safe enjoying the cuisine. Impressed by the food, adherence to safety protocols and customer service, this is definitely one of our go to restaurants. We will continue as patrons long after the pandemic is over. Food was terrible!We ordered almost $70 worth of food and it belongs in the garbage. The General Tso's Chicken was like day old bbq chicken and not spicy at all. The egg fried rice had a few egg flakes in it. The egg rolls were ok! The best part about this meal is that it came with wasabi and that made eating this so called "Chinese" food bearable! There are benchmarks for nearly everything in this world. In the Bonsall, Fallbrook, Temecula, region, Peking Wok sets the standard for Chinese restaurants. The place is always impeccably clean, is well decorated, has the perfect lighting levels and color rendition. The ambiance is typically accompanied by a live pianist that adds to a simply wonderful experience. Please tip the pianist if you go, so the restaurant will continue to retain their services. It's well worth it. The service is usually very good and friendly. There is one male waiter who sometimes seems to be having a bad day, but it's easy to overlook his occasional indiscretion. What about the food you ask? The food is nearly gourmet. You can taste the care that has gone into every dish. Just like the lighting, music, decor, and service, the food is reflective of someone who truly cares about their restaurant. One of my favorite dishes is the wonton soup. So much so, that I sometimes only get that to eat. Especially when it's one of those late night eat light kind of days. It's not your normal wonton soup. Mixed with wontons, shrimp, and chicken, the flavors are outstanding. If soup isn't your thing, try any of the other dishes and I would be willing to bet that you'd agree, Peking Wok may be the best Chinese food you ever had. Cheers! read more

Not at all impressed! The server was rude and unhelpful, and the food was super bland! We were a party of 8 and all ordered different entrees, NONE of which were better than "edible." The chicken corn chowder had a slimy texture. The chicken in my dish was pale and unexciting, the Kung Pao sauce did not taste like Kung Pao, and the "spicy" dishes were not spicy. It felt like the cook wasn't even trying. We sat awhile for our check and finally went to the register, only to find the server had not split our bill in two as requested. Very courteous woman took the order and was just as pleasant when we picked it up. They have live piano music playing so would be nice to dine in next time. This is my absolute go to place! I order pick up probably every other night and they've literally never disappointed me before. The Peter's Chicken and shrimp egg rolls are my favorites but everything on the menu is delicious. Orange chicken big portion but very mild flavor mostly just too sweet. Liked the braised string beans and cream cheese wontons. Fried shrimp could have been breaded cardboard.
