We had ordered shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken to take to my parent's house for Father's Day. We ordered 2 of each to feed 7 adults. Everyone enjoyed the food. Everything was full of flavor, and the rice had a good ratio to shrimp. The shrimp were decent in size, too. Pricing was a bit on the steep side. There are plenty of Asian restaurants in San Diego that serve similar dishes for much more reasonable pricing. You just have to travel out of the Fallbrook area. In January my aunt and uncle invited me to Peking Wok. My aunt and I shared the cilantro chicken. I bit down on a rock that was in the cilantro chicken. The waitress took the rock to show it to the chef. Rocks are heavy. So, the chef clearly doesn't rinse the cilantro. The rock broke my tooth. Now, I need a root canal and a crown. Peking Wok has lied to me and given me the runaround for four months. My tooth is still broken and they have refused to pay for the repair. I went here for the first time yesterday after being very disappointed with the choice of Chinese restaurants in Temecula. It was excellent food was very good and I had a great ambience with a piano player in the corner. The service was excellent as was the wait time. We ordered eggrolls that were some of the best I have had. For our entrees we ordered sesame chicken that was absolutely delicious and Kung Pao chicken. We have long patronized this hot spot. THEY HAVE A FULL BAR!!! And they have a pianist playing nightly on the weekends of your favorite Peanuts (an old cartoon series) or other piano bar hits. I was surprised this last visit hearing songs from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". I have long admired those few songs. Peking has been serving the same, or very similar, menu items since day one . . . and we order them every time. The "Walnut Chicken" with the immediate aromas and flavors of wasabi is a keeper. The "Cilantro Chicken" with its occasional Jalapeño slice keeps the IPAs and cocktails flowing from the bar. Unfortunately, sometimes the place gets so busy, it's a few sips of water between the remixes especially with a larger party in the "special party room". Get your drink orders in early. Great place. The family that owns and runs this has always been warm and welcoming. You just need to understand that they have been doing this for a long time, and they know their customers and treat them all with respect and dignity. The staff are great hosts and you won't go long without realizing their warm hospitality. Do stop in. We were so looking forward to having our family Christmas Eve dinner here, but sadly for naught. We expected a wait, as it was a full house when we arrived at about 5:30pm. We waited about 1 hour and 20 minutes outside the restaurant, as did several other groups. We were seated - 5 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby. We had no plates or silverware on the table and no menus were provided to us. A short time later our waitress arrived and observed we had no menus and promptly obtained them for us. She later brought plates and silverware. We ordered plenty of food to share (egg drop soup, lo mein, fried rice,sesame beef, general Tso's chicken,braised green beans, and black pepper scallops); as well as two appetizers (fried shrimp and cheese wontons). The appetizers and soup came out in about a half hour. The fried shrimp were tasty, sadly it was actually the best tasting of everything we ordered. The wontons were cold and not very flavorful. The soup was barely lukewarm! We watched as four tables of families who were seated before us waited, and waited, and waited for their entrees to slowly trickle out. We are talking at least 1 to 1.5 hours later! After about the same 1.5 hours we were just about to get up and leave when we started receiving our entrees. I failed to mention that while waiting outside we saw one family enter, after being called, and then leaving about an hour later. We mentioned that service must be fast and they told us they had not been served and had to leave. That should have been our first sign to GTFO of there. Not one entree was "hot" with all of them being either room temperature or cold; and not tasty like we all remembered from the two times we had been here previously. I love me some Chinese food, but when the only item I took a second helping of was the sesame beef that tells the whole story (if you knew me); and I only did so because I was still hungry and it tasted the "best" of the offerings. Outside of room temperature fried rice and lo mein, which tasted "old", the Tso's chicken, green beans and scallops were terrible; with the scallops being inedible. From the first bite I knew the scallops, which smelled like a damn pier, were old. The green beans were not cooked properly. Tso's chicken was overcooked and the sauce bland. None, not one single entree, was wiped out by us as a group. That's pretty bad and indicative of the crap meal we received. I was about to complain to management, but was shut down by family members who thought I might get too angry. My son was paying the bill, so I and the wife bit our tongues. Our waitress was either doing her best or dropping the ball (with the food items arriving late, cold and\or lukewarm). While waiting, and waiting, and waiting she did keep our table drinks rolling in, brought us the staff neglected plates and silverware and tried being cheery knowing we (as well as others) were being screwed over. My wife stated she dropped the ball due to the entrees not being hot and fresh. I feel whoever was cooking in the back F'ed it up even more! Because it is in debate I blotted her name out on the pictured receipt. My son did not feel it was her fault and left a phat tip - Merry Christmas. Last, but not least, we all observed that to-go orders had PRIORITY over any dining-in paying customers. While outside waiting we observed NUMEROUS orders being picked up by Grub hub, Uber eats or whomever (two guys were able to return TWICE for more orders while we waited to be seated). Our seating in the restaurant afforded me a clear view of the hostess desk and I observed at minimum a dozen large to-go orders being picked up, the entire time we waited for what was suppose to be delicious food being served to us. That was such bullshit and frustrating to watch. It was all about maximizing the Benjamins for them this night. If you read this far, I give you kudos for hanging in there to do so. I had to vent! As you can see by my profile I disperse my star ratings pretty fairly (me thinks). The Peking Wok, from this service, dropped what was once a 5 star rating to a 1 star rating and although nobody got food poisoning we all agreed none of us will return; and that's sad because they used to have very good food. There are too many good Chinese restaurants in Temecula and Oceanside, with Bonsall being the half way meet up point for our respective families, to meet up here again in the future. They ran home to say Mom we found a REAL, authentic Chinese place just like back home on the east coast !! You see, one can go to a hole in the wall Chinese place on the east coast and get magnificent Chinese cuisine. And please don't ask me if I've been to China town in San Francisco. Gagggggg, puke!! :( I no longer live close by but still drive a good distance to come here. It's well worth the drive ! Ambience, atmosphere and piano player are bonus nice touches.
