My husband and I are so disappointed. We first ordered the Assorted Appetizer Plate for 2 and all the items were either mushy, rubbery or tasteless. We also ordered 2 different chicken dishes and they were both horrible. The Chicken in both dishes were low grade with lots of fat with tendons. Not even edible. Peking Wok is very quiet and clean. I give 3 stars because the orange chicken wasn't giving orange chicken, the low mein was to thick, and the pot stickers were ok. The cheese wontons we're absolutely amazing and the drinks were great. Our waiter was awesome, very polite and he checked on us often. What we did respect is the fact that they honored our request to return a dish. The food is cooked to perfection; very hot and fresh. We just prefer a little more flavor....But we are southern girls! The wait time is average. I would come back for the wontons and drinks...I would also recommend that you try this place for yourself. It wouldn't be my first option but it wouldn't be my last either. We have not been here in a long time but were trying it again. Well, the change of ownership shows. Lunch specials went up in price and removed the egg roll that was once included. This was a total gem... it was one of those, let's try and see and they did not disappoint! The ambience was quite romantic on a Friday night! Dimmed lights and a pianist playing great music that we were singing to! We orders classics like mein and Anderson chicken (i hope that sounds right) with some soup, egg rolls and wonton. The first thing you get is a fried wonton and that was yummy. The food was a very healthy portion- family style type of eating and the prices was not bad at all for the amount of food. I love this place! Local fine dining with a live pianist every weekend! I've been coming here for years and I am never disappointed. The food is delicious and the staff is so attentive. i went to Peking Wok to meet a cousin and her family. Oceanside was about halfway, so we thought it was a good place to meet. The restaurant was clean and we were seated in a booth. The service was good and so was the food. We got the Singapore noodles with shrimp, green beans, yellow curry shrimp, and pan fried noodle chow mein. Everything was good and fresh, with good flavors. I chose this restaurant yesterday because I wanted good Chinese food. Sadly, no great place to get it here in Oceanside. A friend took me here for my birthday. I ordered the Cashew Chicken, and she ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both portions were substantial. The service was excellent, food was well prepared and tasty, and with the current high prices to eat out, this place is on point. An enjoyable outing. It's hidden in the Bonsall Shopping Center-but it is worth the search. The service can be a little slow depending on how many customers are dining. I've ordered many items from the menu at Peking Wok. There are so many choices to choose from. One of the popular items is the orange chicken. I've ordered it quite a few times and eat time it's been different. Sometimes it has a sweet orange aroma and it's tender to cut up and eat or eat in whole pieces. There are days when the chicken is so hard as if it's a small piece of chicken, cooked over and over again. The batter, the orange seasoning is perfect! However, it they could just find a happy medium to cook the chicken pieces would be excellent. The beef broccoli is yummy but the broccoli needs to be steamed more before adding it to the meat mixture. The noodles are excellent and so is the white rice. The fried rice needs a bit more veggies, salt and pepper. More substance. Other than that, Peking Wok is great. read more

Usually I will order the same thing in a restaurant if I like it...usually it's broccoli and beef but this time, I tried something new...Lettuce wraps. They were so very delicious I was surprised. The hardest part was trying to eat them politely. They were so good! Food is excellent and we love to go to lunch there. Prices are good and they have a happy hour during the day Monday thru Friday.

My husband and I fell in "like" at Fortune Cookie in RB and 25 years of marriage later, we have been looking for that same experience. Well tonight we found it!! So my friend enjoyed her 1st experience here. She didn't rave about it but she did think it was good enough to order something safe like shrimp fried rice. She really liked the pot stickers which are always deelish! I had my usual and it was very good. Okay so my hot and sour soup. It was a little better than the last time, but something has changed. It's no longer the deep, rich dark brown color and the taste has significantly changed. I will try ONE more time and then no more hot n sour soup for me there which will be disappointing as I will have to find a new appetizer or go without. We shall see. My friend treated me to lunch on Thursday and because the restaurant we had planned to eat at was closed, we decided to try this restaurant. BIG mistake!! We both started with an eggroll and a cup of hot and sour soup which were both very good. I was excited to start on the Szechuan Pork but my first bite was horrible (thought I had a mouthful of fat). I wanted to give the pork another try, so I ate another bite. I could not believe how bad it tasted. (I am a pork lover and like it anyway it is prepared). I could not eat it, sent it back and ordered the Mongolian Beef. Again, a really bad choice! I also love this particular dish having eaten it at many different restaurants but never prepared without Hoisin sauce and lots of green onions. Not at this place! It was a huge disappointment. They were very nice and friendly. Unfortunately the food didn't match the service. Our table ordered a number of dishes. Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Pineapple Beef, and the lettuce wraps. The Orange Chicken & Sweet and Sour pork were the best dishes overall. The remaining were not good. The dishes lacked flavor and were over cooked. I wouldn't recommend any of those dishes to anyone. Sadly, I would chose Panda Express over this place every time. read more

Was hungry for Chinese food today and decided to try Peking Wok. I was beat from chores around the Ranch, so I called in an order of House Fried Rice, Pork Fried Rice for Niko, Bao Hu pork, and Egg Rolls. When I walked in I was pleasantly greeted by a very nice hostess. To my right was a baby grand pianist and a cello player playing some presently relaxing tune I didn't recognize, and the place was moderately packed with customers. I told the hostess that I was there for a pick-up, and she told me that my order had just come from the kitchen, and was ready to go. She rang me up, and I was a little taken aback at the total, as I was not used to paying that much for Chinese Take-out. When I got home, it was still piping hot and I made myself a plate. I sat down and began to eat. The Egg rolls where cooked well and the sweet and sour sauce was a nice complement. The Bao Hu pork was crisp and flavorful. The house rice however, was not my favorite. The Vegetables were from a bag of frozen, and for some reason that married flavor one comes to expect from any fried rice was missing. I found it bland, in need of copious amounts of Soy Sauce, and was certainly not worth the price I payed for it. Niko told me he enjoyed his pork fried rice. So three stars for Peking Wok. There are way to many, better tasting and better priced Chinese food restaurants around the Ranch, so that's where I'll head next time. read more

COVID-related: Everyone wears masks, even through the masks, you can feel the warm greetings. Staff was cleaning throughout the area. Food: The freshest, freshly-made, flavorful 'without' any of the typical greasy-layer that lingers on the tongue. Familiar flavor, but fresh! My dad had never tried pot stickers (delicious dipping sauce), after today, he's a fan! The beef in the broccoli-beef was super tender. Because the dishes didn't have that 'heaviness' to it, we were able to enjoy more than usual. Next time I'm in town, I will be stopping by for another meal. read more
