If you're looking for a diamond in the rough Chinese food experience, this sadly isn't it. The potstickers are much more dough than filling. The cashew chicken was breaded and fried sesame chicken and general tso's style when it's nearly always enjoyed without breading. This likely means the same chicken pieces are used conveniently for all chicken dishes rather than thoughtfully. The string beans were bathed in gravy. We ended up just eating the kids' lo mein. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. I get lunch here while I'm at work pretty regularly and it's always amazing. The lunch special is a great deal (I can usually make two meals out of it) at under $6. The food is always made fresh and piping hot, with lots of crispy fresh veggies. Absolutely love the food with the exception of the wonton soup. Which I feel everyone should know is made with some kind of beef broth. I was very disappointed in it. I've eaten here twice in the past month. The location isn't exactly ideal. It's sort of a hole in the wall place off West Broad Street. Parking isn't too bad -- at least it hasn't been the two times I've been -- but getting pulled out after you get your food is sort of a pain because of traffic. When you get there, you'll see what I mean. This is more of a take out joint than a sit down restaurant. There are a few tables and I've seen people eating there but the majority of customers I've seen while waiting on my order were doing take out. The lady taking orders behind the register isn't particularly friendly. This isn't to imply she's mean or rude -- just very busy. While I was there she was answering the phone, taking orders, ringing up customers, bagging orders and helping cook. She's very fast and thorough and both times I've been, she checked to see if I needed any condiments, forks, napkins, etc. -- very professional. Both times I've been, I ordered the same thing: sesame chicken, white rice and an eggroll. The egg rolls aren't anything special, just typical egg rolls -- the same you can find in the freezer section of any grocery store. Not bad, not great...just average. The rice was fine as well. Not gummy or overcooked. Just plain white rice. The sesame chicken is a different story. The first time I went, the sesame chicken was really good. It was cut into perfect sized pieces, fried well, not too sweet and still had a crunchy exterior. (I should mention I've done take out both times and my office is about 5 minutes from the restaurant so the food didn't suffer from a long trip and I ordered when I got there so it had not been sitting). After my first trip, I was really happy because so far I have not had a lot of luck finding Chinese that I like in Columbus. Unfortunately, my second trip didn't turn out as well. The chicken was inconsistent; the bulk of the pieces were HUGE. This meant that the chicken wasn't really crunchy as the surface area was limited. In addition, the sauce was incredibly sweet and 'gloppy' for lack of a better term. This made the chicken a clumpy, soggy mess. It was mostly edible but not very good. I wound up throwing away several of the bigger pieces because they were soggy and unappetizing (and one piece possibly under-cooked). I'm going to try them at least one more time. I really hope my last meal was a fluke and I can revise my score for the better. First visit was a four and last one was a two so net three so far. On a side note, I noticed people here talked about the huge portions. I was fine with my portion. It was plenty of food for one meal but it certainly wouldn't have made two. It appears that they have changed their takeout containers recently. Pretty standard Chinese takeout. It's in a bit of a shady spot, but I've never had any issues. You get a massive amount of food for your money. Definitely better than some other Chinese I've tried in Columbus. read more

This Chinese place is MY JAM! The dumplings! The sesame chicken! The General Tso's! OH MY FLAVORS!

Easily the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten, and I'm from East Tennessee where Chinese food is nothing special! Egg Foo Yong, Fried Dumplings and Egg Rolls tasted like turpentine! They got the order wrong and they forgot the broccoli in the General Tso's chicken, which would be excusable if the chicken wasn't so mediocre. Can't fathom why this place gets such high ratings! It's awful! I've never returned Chinese food and asked for a refund till today! Just bad! Do not eat here! One positive note, the dipping sauce for the doughy, tasteless dumplings was actually really good, and for that they earn their one star! read more

My wife and I stop there often. The staff is friendly,and the food is good and not overpriced. Some locals "down on their luck" are sometimes in the area, but...neither I nor my wife have ever had any issues with them. If you are Franklinton, Highland West, or Hilltop areas, it's well worth the stop! read more

BEST CHINESE TAKE OUT YOU CAN GET IN COLUMBUS! Their combo meals are less than $7, and you get a ton of food plus an egg roll. Their garlic chicken and sweet and sour chicken is so good, and seriously the best I have had anywhere around, and I am very particular about my Chinese food. Everyone that works there is friendly, and regardless of how busy they are, I have never waited an unreasonable amount of time to get my order. I don't even bother going anywhere else! read more

Went here for the first time with a friend tonight. I ordered the House Special Pad Thai and fried dumplings. I love the dumplings and the Pad Thai was very tasty, too. I will ask them to bump up the heat a notch on the Pad Thai next time, but I really enjoyed it. Plenty of food for lunch tomorrow, too, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be returning! read more

I tried this place after seeing the reviews and a friend said it was great. Firstly, I grew up on really good Chinese food. This place is in no way a 4.8 stars. There are good and bad dishs. Wor sue gai is one of my favorite dishs and even in the lesser quality restaurants it still has pretty much the same gravy anywhere you go. NOT here. The gravy they use (also for the egg foo young) is one of the most disgusting things I've ever tried. HORRIBLE! But, they have something that I only ever had from one place during my childhood that I havent seen anywhere else and thats the bonelss bbq spareribs. They even taste the same. Thats the one thing that keeps me coming back. Their egg rolls are crap. The won ton soup is decent. The egg foo young is actually really good (W/O sauce). I've had the pork w/mixed veggys and its really good. Had sesame chicken, its fair but would have been better if it had broccoli like some other places do.
