Well it's an option amongst a sea of terrible dining options in this area. Just stopped by for a quick lunch on a long road trip. Can't expect authentic in midwest is what I've come to learn. Although owners and cashier appear to be Chinese, actual cooks are not. I got the shrimp lo mein. Pretty good portion size even for the 'small' size. It was cooked on the spot as it seemed business was rather slow that day. Took maybe 15 mins. Tasted pretty bland. But at least it was served hot and at a good price (under $8).

So today all of my friends were eating Chinese food today. So, I thought I'd join in the fun. Plus, I figured it would be great to eat Chinese food while watching the live action Mulan movie. Seems like a win win. Anyways, I've driven by this restaurant several times (always on a Monday) and they would be closed. So, today being Saturday, I figured I stop in and give the food a try. Today I order a Half order of crab Rangoon, House Special Pad Tai, & a Shrimp Egg roll. All of the food was soooo good! The food was fresh, hot, and crispy. Definitely would come here again. BTW, when I walked in, the place was very clean and organized. You could see to the back and it also appeared clean. The employees also had on mask even with the huge plexiglass that separated them from the lobby. So was excitited to se

I've been meaning to try this for a long time, but it's out of my way and always busy. I'm glad I tried it, and if you live nearby and do carryout it is pretty good. It's small, and mostly does carryout. It was busy at 130 on a weekday, but they were efficient. I had Singapore Mei Fun and crab Rangoon. They came out super hot, which would be great for carryout, but be careful if you are eating there. Huge portions of both. The mei fun is thin noodles in a slightly spicy curry sauce, with lots of meat and veggies. Very good, though there were bits of bone and gristle in the chicken (I think) that made me pick through carefully. The Rangoons were freshly made and pretty good, but almost all cheese, little crab. Because it's small and has an open kitchen, it is very noisy, and crowded. Not an issue if you get it to go, but not a very fun dine-in experience. Pop is cans or bottles, utensils are plastic. Pretty standard menu, not much different or interesting, but it's good stuff, and if I lived nearby I'd get it once in awhile.

Was in the mood for lo mein and typed in a Yelp search. This location showed up and had good reviews. Saw a dish many Yelpers recommended, and ordered it. The staff was very nice, food was ready on time, and the best part was that the food was delicious! Highly recommend if you're craving Chinese on the near west side.

Veg EFY (I forgot to post pic of the gravy)

FINALLY! FINALLY...I've found a Chinese restaurant with the GOOD egg foo young gravy! Well worth the 20 min drive that I'll happily continue to make when I need my fix. Ordered vegetable egg foo young and curry chicken. Veg EFY gets a 5/5. Curry chicken 4/5 because some of the chicken was hard but the flavor was fantastic. Definitely recommend this place and definitely will be a recurring customer! Overall 5/5 experience.

Good food and quick service. I really enjoy the szechuan pork with fried rice and the hot and sour soup is very flavorful.

I arrived at noon and the parking lot was already pretty full for this very unassuming Chinese…read morerestaurant from the outside. There is plenty of free parking which is nice. When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

Spicy Dumplings w/ chili oil - Excellent Crab Rangoons -…read moreAbove Average+ My family ordered Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken & Hunan Chicken. I had the Kung Pao Chicken & it was by far the best I'd ever eaten. So many layers of flavor & heat. (a bit spicy for me, but I struggled through & loved every bite) Will definitely be back to explore some of the more "exotic" dishes on the menu. (Wasn't feeling to adventurous this trip) The restaurant was well decorated & the staff took great care of us. (saw a large selection of dumplings at this place too.....definitely be back to try those)

We ordered the dry pot lamb spine, but the portion was very small, and the lamb was extremely fatty to the point that it was barely edible, especially for $22.99. The shredded Potato was $12.99 and also a very small portion. The boiled fish was okay, but honestly the only dish we were truly satisfied with was the fried noodles we ordered for the kids. Overall, it was not what I hoped for, and I would not come back again.

We were greeted and seated quickly and service was very friendly. As we were hungry, we took a mi Ute to decide what to order. We had planned on storm fish, but made a last minute decision to Sichuan sliced beef (we loveeee a numbing pepper!) with starts of egg roll and spicy wontons. Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
