This was a weird one, but a good meal in the end. Do not trust your GPS to take you here. I used two different map apps, and they both took me to the old Eastland mall. This is at Eastland Square, which is just south of Refugee on Hamilton, about half a mile from the big derelict mall. I called, and they directed me here. The address on Yelp says Eastland Square, but it takes you, at least on my phone, to big old Eastland Mall. Once I got there, the sign was faded, and half of the restaurant was filled with supplies. So I was a little leery. But, hungry, so I ordered. Pretty standard menu, although I did not see crab Rangoon on there. I ended up with a combination, which is an entrée plus rice plus eggroll. They also have lunch specials that I think don't include the eggroll. For 10 bucks I got a lot of Mongolian beef, a lot of rice, and a pretty small egg roll. The eggroll and the rice were fine, nothing special. The Mongolian beef was unusual. I've had one or two before that were a little spicy, or that had extra veggies in them. But this one had a sauce that I almost wouldn't have guessed was a Mongolian type sauce, close, but a little more citrusy, maybe, and with a little heat in there. Not crazy, but then I like heat. There were the usual onions and green onions, but also carrots, snow peas, mushrooms, baby corn, I think I saw a cucumber, sprouts, and probably more. There was a decent amount of beef, but not a ton, but there just wasn't room with all the veggies. It was tender, but not that soy - salty Mongolian flavor I'm used to. Still, the whole thing was pretty darn good. I also got fried scallops since I needed a non-healthy item to replace the crab Rangoon, and they were fine, a big portion, soft frozen discs fried up nicely. Service is just at the counter, behind Covid era plastic and little doors. They seem to do a steady takeout business. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be back. read more

We dined in on a early Sunday for lunch. This is a Small establishment with pallets of supplies on the left and dining area to the right. The chicken seemed overly crispy on the war sue gai and the orange chicken. The rice was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The chicken lo mein was very pleasing and flavorful. Loved the bean sprouts and that it wasn't dry. Service was okay, the gentleman took our order outside the kitchen door with his arms crossed. Correctly received everything too. I would try again to see about the overly crispiness on a daily basis. read more

Food is really good for Chinese-American takeout. Veg Lo mein is mostly noodles some carrots and cabbage. Beef lo mein has right amount of beef, not overbearing with beef. Crab Rangoon was the best I have had. Spring roll was really good. Fried dumplings were good too but could be cooked a little longer. The sauce that goes with it is really good, a little kick to it. Beef and broccoli is good too. Mapo tofu was good a little more Americanized rather than Cantonese. Pork egg roll was typical. This place is a good hidden gem for a quick take out place. This place has the best fried rice ever. The own and he staff is very nice. I'm a regular so when I call she say "you want your regular or brothers regular". I walk in and in always greeted with a hello. For the last three years for New Years she alway say me a calendar. Last year around Christmas my credit card wasn't working I told her I'll be back with cash and she said no you pay me next time. I really don't know what their other food taste like but I tell everyone to go there and they rave about it so if must be good and they give you larger portions. read more

Pretty good for American Chinese fast food. Decent low prices, good portions on regular and combo meals. Vast good variety on the menu. Right down the road from where I live. Young lady at the counter was very nice, pleasant, and did not use pigeon English. She was an actual Asian American. Food not too oily. A little salty though, but good none the less. Even the cook was friendly. They treated everyone who came in well. Would go back again. read more

This is solid three star Chinese food with an extra star for convenience, price and friendly staff. One thing you will notice is for about $15 you can feed two people and have enough for lunch the next day. There are no real stand out winners on the menu since all the food is decently made, but I am partial the shrimp fried rice. As long as I live on the east side this will be a go to for when I need to stay in a Friday night, watch sad movies and eat Chinese. read more

one of my favorite Chinese restaurants The food is really good..never had anything I did not like-love the moo shu veggie -- but why I really like this restaurant is the girl who takes the orders. She is nice and she always brings the food out to my brother and I. The rest of the staff was also very nice once helping me find my car keys I had dropped in the dark parking lot denoting considerable time to help me find them which in my panic I appreciated. I also like that they have no problem with special requests I have made and they even charge you the same when they add an extra veggie or even less when I requested just broth when I was fasting drinking only fresh juices, herbs and broths as part of a health building program to try to beat a recent cancer diagnosis. I'm on day 47 of my planned 120 day juice fast and I am sure I will be in to get more delicious broth which helps tide me over when I start craving food. . Awaiting the day when I can again eat some of the many choices. I was just talking to another patron who said he liked the food so much there that it is the only Chinese restaurant he goes to. He could not have made a better choice..not the fanciest but a great little place located near Eastland mall in a nearby shopping center off Hamilton road south of refugee one block or so. Great job, staff, on everything from friendliness, price, service and of course, yummy. attractive food. So glad we live close by..I believe they are friendlier than most of the other Chinese restaurants I have been to and a little more willing than some of the restaurants to make adjustments/special requests for the customers. At restaurants that refused to do this, I don't go there anymore as the request is simple and It makes me feel they are not concerned about their customers..here they are concerned in your happiness and dining pleasure and I like that. I feel better when I see the server's friendly smile. They would get even more kudos from me if they would offer brown rice and even more veggie dishes as well as I am trying to eat more vegan and healthier than before. I hope they will consider this request as I am seeing more and more Chinese restaurants offering brown rice and vegetarian entries than ever. As more people are wanting to eat whole grains and are going vegetarian or vegan or at least cutting back on meat so if they offer more of this, they can please both meat eater and those on a plant based eating plan. read more

Great place, very similar in style to the Flying Dragon restaurant in Fairborn, OH! The place is fairly run down and there was some shady activity going on inside of the restaurant, but the employees are very friendly and the food is great. It is very reasonably priced and comes out made to order and hot. We would definitely recommend this place over the China Phoenix less than half a mile away. read more

Food is good, but that does not make up for the lack of quality customer service. I called to place an order and I was rushed to order and rushed off the phone and when my boyfriend went to pick up the order the woman who had taken my call was rude to him as well and he ended up leaving with no food because she didn't keep a record of my order so they never even made my food in the first place... I'm pregnant and I just wanted some Chinese food and I get all this drama and rude service. Been coming to this place for about 8 or 9 years. This is the closest to NY Chinese food that you can get to in Ohio. Always recommend it!
