Orange chicken and broccoli combo
Duv O.

I give this place 4/5 it was good than I expected. The whole combo was seasoned well. Orange Chicken was cooked well and the broccoli was crunchy good and not over cooked. Bbq pork was also seasoned well. It was soft and easy to eat. The Eggplant with Tofu was well cooked. I like it. The attendant was helpful and served the fast. . Inside was ok, well lighted and good table spaces.

Me and my friends come here RELIGIOUSLY every time we meet up in the area and I can tell you for a fact that it never misses. Food is great, workers are always greeting us with a smile, and the amount of bang for your buck is unreal. If you want to try some great Chinese food then this would be my recommendation!

The food was old, tasted like it was from hours earlier and the meat had a nasty after taste. I asked the lady to give me 3 egg rolls and only gave me 2 she was stingy with the hot sauce. The food was so bad we had to throw it away and buy something else for dinner. Never coming back!!

We got chow mein, jalapeno chicken, teriyaki chicken, and BBQ pork for a quick meal today, and here's our quick recap: 1. BBQ Pork: definitely good - we both agreed! Slightly sweet, and you can taste the spices, but savory and tender! Great flavor, easy to eat. 2. Jalapeño Chicken: savory with a nice jalapeno flavor, but not very spicy. Good! 3. Chow Mein: ok - it did the job. 4. Teriyaki Chicken: the flavor was ok, but not great. Some parts were pretty dry and hard, so I would rather try something else next time. Overall? Definitely try their BBQ pork! Jalapeño chicken was solid. Maybe pass on the teriyaki chicken. We didn't have any wait, and got our food quickly, so it definitely did the trick for us today. :)

We recently discovered this place and I have been living in the valley for most of my life. They have great food for a very affordable prices. My go to is the bbq pork and chicken curry. The owners are very nice and aren't shy with their portions.

I got this and it was so good

The food has so much flavor. My husband told me about this spot, and he finally took me here today. we got a family meal for about $42 and was able to get four entrées 4 appetizers and more, we also got an order of salt n pepper shrimp and man was if fire(Good). It smelled so good I wanted to stop to eat it on the way home lol and when I had it boy was it the best I definitely think they should hook up the inside a little better. I'm not sure if it's from when Covid was first here but they should hook it up but overall please gets a 9 out of 10. The service here was amazing. The lady was so nice, and when the line started coming in another guy came out to help. I love it

Does anybody know if this place is now open? They had closed it. Not sure if they were fixing the place up.. I miss their delicious food there 😩😩

YES they are open & everything is great there. A car smashed thru the front window & they are making some repairs, but they're back open !!! YEA !!!

What happened to this place? Its been closed then open then closed, boarded up. Then it looks like the boards got cut into and now the whole strip is up for sale or rent, not sure. It seemed to be a good and busy little spot. Seems a shame.

It seems that in October of 2019 there was a car accident that went in and destroyed the front end of the restaurant but they are open now as of December 1st and we had some food from there and it's the same people same owners everything's the same… Read more

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst tasting Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. I can't even understand how it was so crowded. Maybe it's the low prices. The hot and sour soup was OK, but tasted a little weird compared to what I'm used to it other places. The eggroll was fine, typical greasy eggroll. The Kung pow chicken was just bizarre. It was covered in a sweet sauce and was all dark meat so it was very chewy and fatty and skin and to me was just gross. This is one of the first times where I just stopped eating halfway through and left because I didn't feel like finishing my meal because it was so disgusting. At least to me. I don't think my Kung pow chicken should be so sweet. I didn't order orange chicken or sweet-and-sour chicken, but maybe those would have been better? I don't know. All I know is I didn't even finish my meal because the food was not edible to me. Service was fine, the guy was very busy so I never got refills and the food came fast. I'm not coming back here ever again. It was just not even worth the $15 I spent for lunch and I left with a seriously bad taste in my mouth. Not recommended one bit.

They served my party very fast. I got the sweet and pungent shrimp and it was so good. I usually am not a fan of chinese food but I loved my meal here. Most of the takes are round which is the best for group dining and conversation. On top of the round table, each one came with a lazy Susan for easy sharing of dishes. The staff was super friendly and attentive which is great. The menu is basic and easy to read with a simple layout but nice options. So why three stars? Well the food was hit or miss on this day. It was the first time I've eaten at hot wok. But others in the party frequent the restaurant. One person ordered the sizzling rice soup and said it had been better on other occasions. For the tale we ordered a pork dumpling starter, which was fine. Our main dishes were the orange chicken that was good. The kung pao chicken that was bad. A tad dry and flavorless. Ma Po tofu for a vegan eater which the said wasn't the best representation and for some reason the kitchen didn't add onions to help it be vegan. We had vegetable chow fun noodles that were good. We had sautéed green beans that were sautéed with ginger and not garlic which weee bad. You add it up and there's your three stars. I'd eat there again but be more directive on how I'd want the dishes done if possible.

The menu was on laminated paper which must be a few years old and felt disgusting to touch. I started with hot tea and it was served in a metal cup. I wish they served it in a nice ceramic container for customer's enjoyment. For lunch, we ordered chicken chow mein and their pork and crab dumpling (like a xiao long bao). The chicken chow mein had a boatload of cabbage and probably 10 strips of chow mein noodles. It should have been called cabbage noodles (lol). The pork and crab dumplings would have been a hit, but the dumpling shell had a "soapy" smell. The meat inside was soft and tasted good, but I couldn't get over the smell of the shell. We would have also wanted to try seaweed salad, but it was unavailable on this day. The parking at Northern Cafe is plenty. The staff is also courteous. But given the state of the food and overall feel, I give it only two stars. Truthfully, you can find better Chinese food close by this area. There's Maru Ramen on Reseda and Nordhoff, or Silverlake Ramen on Rinaldi. And no, I don't work for either of those places. All of this feedback is based on customer experience.

Everything I had was laden with this heavy, greasy, fattening stuff. If you're a fan of cooking oil, this is your go-to spot for sure. I had the "gourmet" dinner. That means Mongolian beef, my usual in basic old-school Chinese places like this. I chose won ton soup over the seafood soup choice. The broth was fine, but the won tons were thick and doughy. Not great. The beef seemed of a decent quality, but was absolutely floating in oil. This made the green and white onions too soft and mushy and dripping with oil. Ditto the very messy foil wrapped chicken appetizer, but the egg roll was okay, if bland. There are plenty of excellent choices for all types of Chinese cuisine in the Valley. No need to come here. Again though, remember I only had one dish, but I have an idea it's indicative of the entire menu.

Upon entry there is a takeout area where you can order hot meat dishes and to go menu or dine in. We got complimentary hot tea when seated. The interior is a bit dated compared with other restaurants of this type but the food was delicious. We got duck and preserved egg porridge, scrambled egg with shrimp, and a two bbq combo plate of char siu and roast pork. The porridge came out fast and delicious! We ate with the chili and white paper available at the table. Next came the scrambled egg and shrimp. We actually ordered the version with rice, not the entree so the servers got us some rice but missing the gravy. Lastly came the bbq combo plate. We thought it would arrive first since the meats were all ready to go in the takeout area. It came with some hoisin sauce. The char siu was tasty. The roast pork however was not as crispy and kinda mealy so the sauce helped.

Stick with ordering dishes off their menu instead. It's next to a Ranch, so there's plenty of parking available. We came by for lunch on Saturday around noon, and it was mostly filled up. It's not a big restaurant, and tables are placed pretty close to each other. That's how you know the place is going to be authentic lol They have a takeout area where you can get various bbq meats and some hot deli foods, but they also have a large menu you can order from. The four of us ordered the following dishes to try: #2 two item BBQ with roast pork and roast duck ($19.95 + $2 for roast pork) #78 chicken and veggie chow mein ($15.95) #85 beef chow fun ($16.95) #129 sauteed fish fillet ($18.95) #138 fresh squid in oyster sauce ($17.95) My favorite dish by far was the beef chow fun, which came as a huge platter and had really good wok hei flavor. The other noodle dish, the chow mein, was also good with huge portions. The fish and squid were both okay, but portions were small for the price, and to be honest, they were pretty similar down to the veggies used. We probably could've just ordered one. The most underwhelming was the bbq. The duck tasted okay but the cut they gave us was mostly bone and didn't have much meat. The roast pork was way too juicy and the skin, which is usually my favorite part due to the crisp, was tough and hard to chew.
