This review is only regarding the posted hours versus what I experienced upon arrival. I had a long day at work and was really looking forward to treating myself to what's rated as the best Chinese food in the area. I even drove a bit out of my way to come here, only to find a "closed" sign on the door. I truly hope everything is okay with the owners and staff, but it was disappointing that there wasn't any notice or backup plan for unexpected closures. From what I could see through the window, the restaurant looked very clean and well-kept. I'll definitely want to try again another time but will certainly call first!!!! read more

Yes, Frankenstein can buy into a good hype every so often which the Bride of Frankenstein enjoys pointing out. Especially when Frankenstein is wrong. Frankenstein enjoys braised beef noodle soup. A lot. Frankenstein's heart was yanked out of his huge body and crushed when Mandarin Deli went out of business during Covid. A pain he still feels even today. They had the best Braised Beef Noodle Soup ever! Frankenstein went hook, line, and sinker when he read the Yelp hype about this place. Bottom line, nice people, not as awesome as was described. Braised Beef Noodle Soup- Sorry Noodles Kitchen but it's too chili hot. About a 8.5 to 9 on Frankensteins too hot scale. Beef was okay, not great. Noodles were good. Bride of Frankenstein had one taste and pushed it away. "Mucho Caliente" Orange Chicken, fine. Let's not go overboard everyone. Pan Fried Dumplings, good. My parents actually discovered this spot during their nightly walks--back when the restaurant was still under renovation. So needless to say, we were really excited to finally try it once it opened, especially since the Valley doesn't have a huge scene for authentic Chinese food. And let me tell you--we were not disappointed! The soup dumplings were juicy and packed with flavor, the noodles had that perfect chewy texture, and the broth tasted rich and homemade--definitely bone broth, not just MSG. And the orange chicken? A must-try. The owner mentioned it's a unique spin on the classic dish, and it totally delivered--crispy, tangy, and not overly sweet. And if I could, I'd give the service a 6-star rating. I'm all for supporting local, family-owned restaurants, and the owners were incredibly attentive. We brought our two toddlers with us, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable--checking that the table wasn't too small, offering extra bowls for the kids, and even handing out fortune cookies while we waited to keep them entertained. They also brought us complimentary lemon water infused with passion fruit, which was absolutely amazing. We were so busy wrangling the kids that we didn't get any food photos, but I did snap a few shots of the menu. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and care that went into everything. Tasty food with good portion sizes. This is Chinese food, not Panda. I am definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Please don't come here expecting all your dishes to be drenched in some sweet teriyaki sauce. It was about 9 :45pm and we were looking for a late night Chinese restaurant when I saw this new Chinese restaurant nearby that closes at 11.Their service was great for how late we showed up. We ordered the fried noodles combination, the orange chicken, and the 8pc fried dumplings. All the food was authentic and delicious but the star of the show was the orange chicken. It's crispy and the sauce is sticky and full of flavor. Customer service was excellent and friendly as well. This is definitely going to be one of our go-to restaurants now. read more

Just came back from Shanghai. The food here is pretty good. The beef noodle soup had hand cut noodles with a nice broth. The beef was very soft. Ignore the review about it being spicy it really isn't . They also have some other dishes that were good; tho definitely Chinese-American dishes. Will try the XLB next time. Found this new hole in the wall chinese restaurant in valley. The interior is spacious with good lighting and seats are all brand new. The orange chicken is very crispy on the outside with a lot of chicken meats inside unlike most places, you can also clearly taste the zesty orange flavor instead of just sweet. Walnut shrimp is not too sweet and also very crispy. Xiao Long Bao has a lot of meat, but can have a bit more soups inside. Overall a great new chinese style takeout restaurant. Traditional and not over the top, perfect with the classic vinegar thinly cut ginger sauce Shrimp roll - extremely crispy with no oily residue on plate or fingers. We came in for dinner on a Friday. The place is definitely a family run business, and the owner is very friendly and attentive. We ordered the crispy orange chicken (make sure you order crispy! They have two on the menu). It was very crispy and the sweet/spicy ratio was perfect. We also loved the sweet and sour soup- tastes just like LKF Hong Kong. I just got a delicious takeout chow mein from Noodles Kitchen. (This used to be Dan's Kitchen, and this was the first time I've tried the new menu under the new ownership.) They cooked my 'combination fried noodles' perfectly, with a generous amount of beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables, and it was not overly oily. Very friendly staff.
