Me and my coworkers ordered lunch at least once a week here and catering once a month. Today 12/12/16 was the last time. As usual we have placed an order for lunch, when I went to pick up the order The Doors were opened with a sign on a chair that said that the inside is closed. Place was filled with foggy burned smoke (it's been 3 hours and I still smell like smoke) I couldn't even stand there for a minute to pay for it because I couldn't breathe, it took me 2 times to actually pay. I have asked the girls at the register is there a fire? the response was no but when I asked if it's safe to eat the food my question was not answered and ignored. I have looked inside the order to find that the extra sides that were asked over the phone weren't added, when I asked for bigger tub to put the ginger so I wouldn't stay inside longer than I needed to I was told they can't give them out, even though we paid .50 every time for each one. The attitude was unnecessary and I never said I'm not willing to pay extra I wasn't given the option just attitude . The more I had to be there the more I started to wonder if it will be safe for me to eat this food. End result is while I stepped out side because I needed air and call my coworker to ask them if we do want to eat that food one of the girls came out, took my picture and said I am no longer welcomed there. I had to step back in to the smoke so I would be refunded. It was already unpleasant environment the girl workers made me feel like I'm doing something wrong where all I wanted was our complete order and they would have not lost customers, believe me I have made sure to tell about my experience to all the people that work in my building. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant for lunch by my office. I would refer everyone I knew and whenever we bought office lunches I would send the receptionist to pick up from here. However... In the last month or so they have hired new staff... (Specifically) A new female cashier. Gone are the days of the girls with Friendly Smiles running around happily serving people with wonderful customer service. That has been replaced by an angry, bitter, grumpy, nasty, woman with zero customer service who Snipes that people in line and talks to them like they are beneath her. Further, as we have been patrons of this establishment for years I find it very disconcerting that when we asked for something to be a bit customized on the order (the lettuce chopped smaller for a elderly person who was having lunch with us) not only were we told no, but we were told (and I quote) "that the person who did that once before was in a lot of trouble for it". Really!? You are already cutting the lettuce for a salad... you can't cut it a bit smaller for someone with special dietary needs, especially someone who's been a customer for years. Well, that longtime patronage has come to an end. Not only are we no longer dining at this establishment, but I have told everyone within earshot (and have blasted it all over Facebook and the web) how they are now treating their customers!!! This is a cool, quiet little spot on Sherman Way near the airport. It is convenient, with lots of good free parking behind the building. The food is Japanese and Peruvian in flavor. Love their teriyaki sauce! They have a variety of foods for all tastes--plus salads and veggie burgers for vegetarians and vegans. I'm very fond of the staff here, they are great people and really friendly. Orders are taken quickly and food is prepared expeditiously, so it's a good place if you have a short lunch period. This restaurant was pretty ritzy. I admired it. I asked what they thought is good on the menu, since I like to usually eat a Reuben. The employment was sufficient, but not stellar. I feel that I would rate it 4 stars, but nothing too extraordinary. The cooking was boss, although I didn't know what to expect. I made a yelp account just to review this place. That's how upset I am. The tall skinny girl that works here is terrible. Im a truck driver and stop by frequently and always hope that she's not here. She always gives me a hard time. Why does she make my visit a dread to cone in rather than a pleasant experience? I'm not sure if I'll be coming in. I'm going to have to find a better location. The burger patty was so small that it wasn't even visible unless you lifted the bun. The beef wasn't seasoned and was rubbery, almost impossible to chew. After I explained that I wanted it prepared the same way as the customer before me, the employee appeared frustrated by the request. What made the interaction particularly uncomfortable was that when he went to the back to get a mixing bowl, there was a loud crash of stainless-steel bowls that could be heard from the front counter. It sounded as though multiple bowls had been dropped or slammed together. This stood out because moments earlier, when he prepared the bowl for the customer ahead of me, everything was done quietly and without any issue. Whether intentional or not, it gave the impression that he was upset about my request. At that point, I told him not to worry about mixing it and asked for all of my sauces on the side so I could do it myself. I also requested an extra container so I could mix everything on my own. Later there was additional confusion regarding the sauces and what was included. I repeatedly offered to pay for any extra sauces if necessary, but the conversation still felt argumentative rather than helpful. The food was actually pretty good, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the customer service made me feel unwelcome and almost caused me to leave before ordering. Consistency and attitude matter just as much as the food, and this experience fell short of what I expected.

So we decided to give them a try. WORST. CHINESE FOOD. EVER!!! There are cheap Chinese fast food takeout that are way more delicious than they are. Their food is about as below average as those cheap bad Chinese fast food takeout. The noodles and steamed rice smelled like old burlap sack! The food we ordered either had no taste, not tasty at all, or it smelled. My mom and I swore we'd never go back. A couple of weeks ago, I was craving fried noodles. I don't know why I decided to give them a try again. What a waste of money!!! One thing improved, I guess... At least the noodles didn't smell like old burlap sack. As for taste... zero, nothing, bland AF and to top it all off, the noodles were over cooked so it's mushy!!! Seriously a Chinese restaurant who can't cook noodles??? WTH??? Anyway... It was disgusting! I ate a few bites, threw away the rest. What a waste of money!!! I don't know who keeps giving them praises for their food. May be those people just don't know any better and they've never had any good Chinese food. Golden City is definitely a "HELL NO! Never again!!!" for me. It's clean, I like the people who run it. After a couple times there, they recognize me and my bf which is nice in such a big anonymous town of slip food. I like the chow Mein too although personally, the rice is fine but I prefer the Mein.I personally just prefer the skinny noodles you don't find at many Asian buffets but their chow Mein is still tasty and big piles nevertheless. Really like their mushroom chicken to start. Beef and broccoli is fresh and the broccoli is 'Al dente' and not over cooked sloppy spears. I always want to get the eggplant as it looks fresh and colorful. The chicken jalapeño was muy caliente! And the appetizers like the fried shrimp was very good! But the BBQ pork is the standout. First because you can't find it around much anymore but it's just very good and juicy. It's not fancy. People don't eat there as a dining experience but for grab and go Chinese fast food in a to go box. I don't think you will lose getting food there. If you're too bougie to hit a little hole in the wall for some take out Chinese food, don't go. You'll be unhappy probably. The place isn't that big which they now added a seating area in the back. It's been a while since they did that. I've never dine in only for takeout. There's a few parking spots just outside the front door. It's part of a strip mall so you'll get parking easily. Nothing fancy about this place. Right when you walk in, there's the main display case with all the food. There's the fridge for drinks to one side. They do offer a good selection of dishes as well as items that you can order. Normally I pick up the three item combo. Comes with either fired rice or chow mein or half and half and your three entrees. Price did go up a little but it's still really reasonable. Like I mentioned, it's nothing fancy but a fast and easy Chinese takeout.

Parking in the corner strip mall is tough though.
