    Fried shrimp

Life is short F......it up! Family, Flavor, Friends In New York again for my food crawl decided to meet up with some friends at this local spot that just opened. Small neighborhood bar serves Korean comfort food. First off wanted to point out the Pelicans lycee beer perfectly brewed and good sweet flavor. You can taste lychee. Hopefully this goes commercial. But if you're in there, definitely worth a try. Now to the food the Korean fried chicken with the sauces, very savory very good and they provided the extra radishes like any traditional fried chicken place. The fried calamari and fried shrimp were very delicately fried very savory very good good dipping sauce. But what was a miss was the rice dishes the Bulgogi and the chicken rice dishes were a miss unfortunately. The decor very modern very cool gives this place. It's own vibe. I can see them being very successful as they're branching out on all different parts of New York creating cool places to hang out.

I'll admit I've been sleeping on pelicana. Ordered delivery one night due to late night craving and even the wings sitting in the bag for 30 minutes were still crispy and well sauced. We decided to dine in yesterday and ordered wings, quesadilla, and rose rice cake. The food was great as it was before, server checked up on us, and food came out fast.

Came here for dinner with grandkids, this serve fried chicken and korean dishes. We ordered French fries, whole fried chicken, 10pcs wings. Sweet potatoes fries. Thr fries was season nicely and crispy, whole chicken was cut in pieces with honey garlic sauce, the sauce is a little sweet side, soy garlic wings could be more spicy, and sweet potatoes fries nice and crispy, be aware they charge for extra dipping sauce.

I was so happy to see they're open again, but I'm really disappointed. I loved how crispy their chicken was, but what I got today wasn't, so I took off two stars.

Ate and brought here to go for dinner after work to share with my mom, dad, sister and cousin. We had ate and brought the Level 2 sweet and spicy crispy fried chicken that it had tasted quite spicy and sweet. The service there was also attentive and great. We couldn't agree more! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

I checked out the place on a late Monday night. Since it was so late, place was not busy and we were seated immediately. Have to say they had lots of items on their menu. Had a hard time picking but eventually chose the chicken Teriyaki. My entree was so yummy! I was glad I was able to take home half of it for lunch the next day. Staff was nice, I would recommend:)

Haven't been here since they reopened but their chicken are as good as I remembered them to be. Didn't get any sauce but got a full chicken for $30 and sauces are extra. The chicken was super juicy and nice but I would definitely recommend getting sauce and some sides. The staffs were also super nice and overall a nice fried chicken place!

Great quality food at its best. Korean style fried chicken, where you WONT find anywhere else besides Flushing, Queens. The service and ambiance were both amazing, all the workers were very kind and generous. Stopped by to Pelicana for the first time this evening after a baseball game and all I have is say is YUM! Started my food adventure by ordering their chicken nachos. Truly blew me away with their great quality of chicken and toppings. Served with a side of guacamole and sour cream, the nachos cheese and fresh pickled jalapeños worked perfectly with their tangy grilled chicken. Cheese whiz worked perfectly with the blend and amazing quality of chips, the nacho chips were honestly perfect. You just keep on going! After devouring the nachos the main reason we stopped by was for their chicken wings! Folks, your mouth will soon be watery. Perfectly fried 10 piece or 20 piece of chicken wings, flavors of your choice and spice level. We ordered the Glazed Honey Wings with a side of Sweet and spicy, level 2 of course and the both complemented each other perfectly with the hot fresh wings with the delicious crunch, yum yum I was in heaven. By the way you have to wear gloves when going down town on these wings! Great quality wings at a reasonable cost. Probably my favorite spot now!

Omg chicken madness!! It is soo good! Eat it while its hot! Location: It is located in Flushing. There is few seatings inside. Service: I ordered to go, but he seem nice when I asked for the free soda! Food: I ordered ORIGINAL FRIED CHICKEN and it was so good! The skin is crispy just the perfect crispiness and the inside is moist! Definitely one of the best fried chicken i have! Price rating: 6/10, it was not bad. Well i went here twice for a week! So I will definitely come back for sure! Chicken was the best!

I love Korean fried chicken so I was excited and looking forward to finally trying out Pelicana. I know it's been around for years and some people prefer it over mad for chicken. I think both are honestly really good. I liked that they offer combo platters on the menu which is what my boyfriend and I ordered. We chose the boneless chicken option with the signature pelicana sauce on the side. It was sweet and spicy and overall so tasty. Chicken was perfectly crispy! It came with fried onion rings, cheese sticks and fries. The epitome of a fried food platter but it was Friday so I figured it was a good treat myself at the end of the week meal. We also ordered the soy garlic wings and they were delicious! The portions are big and definitely shareable. I think the restaurant overall could maybe use a few interior tweaks, but at least the food is great!

Unfortunately, Pelicana is one of my least desired Korean fried chicken spots in Flushing. It's just OK compared to Yetnal Tongdak, Mad For Chicken, The Coop or BB.Q Chicken. There was nothing special or memorable about Pelicana's fried chicken. Taste wise, it seems more bland than the other chicken shops mentioned above.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good restaurant in the area for our date night when we stumbled upon Pelicana Chicken. The huge grand opening sign caught our attention, and we decided to try some Korean fried chicken. We ordered 20 wings with two different flavors: the new glazed honey soy and sweet and spicy (level 1). We also got the spicy rice cake soup with ramen and mozzarella cheese. To complement our meal, we both had beers--mine was Japanese beer, and my boyfriend's was a delicious pear beer. The owner greeted us warmly, introduced himself, and even offered us free garlic fries! Everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were crispy and flavorful, the rice cake soup was yummy, and the garlic fries were great too. We ordered a lot of food. I was surprised by all the options. I definitely want to try the other things next time. Overall, Pelicana Chicken exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night. We will definitely be coming back!

The real star of the night was Joyce behind the bar. She's the kind of bartender who instantly makes you feel welcome, like you've been a regular for years even if it's your first visit. She knows her drinks, makes amazing recommendations, and somehow keeps the energy fun and relaxed even when the bar gets busy. You can tell she genuinely cares about people having a good experience, and that kind of service is rare. Her gin and tonic was perfectly balanced -- crisp, refreshing, and honestly one of the best I've had. And the green tea shots? Dangerous in the best way possible. Smooth, flavorful, and way too easy to keep ordering because they go down so well. Joyce makes them with consistency and a little extra flair that makes the whole experience feel special. Food-wise, I highly recommend the pork dumplings -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the ideal pairing with drinks. Everything just worked together: great food, great drinks, and even better hospitality. Joyce truly elevates the entire atmosphere at Firefly, turning a normal night out into something memorable. If you're going, sit at the bar, trust her recommendations, and thank me later. 10/10 experience -- I'll absolutely be back.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Well, I know why now AND I can tell you I would still come again. First - the place is very traditional Chinese style and very spacious inside. We were seated quick and didn't need a reservation or anything as TBH bf and I came to Flushing to get Dim sum...to find out that our dim sum spot is GONE!! (this is another story) Anyways - there's a digital menu so you can browse and also see straight up how much everything would cost. The staff are also very helpful if you need any assistance esp if you don't speak or read Chinese. Anyways - Juqi is known for their peking duck so we ordered the half duck set. Which also with the leftover pieces or bones (or something) they will ask if you want to fry them or make into a soup. We choose fried (well I would preferred the soup but..haha next time), seafood fried rice, soy sauce chicken, Chinese vegetable and beef with green peppers. All the food came out pretty quick! The duck came out and the server showed us how to properly wrap it up to eat. The duck was tender and skin was soo crispy. It wasn't heavy at all. The soy sauce chicken was properly seasoned and it came with a sweet chili sauce and a ginger oil sauce, both was great. But not needed but that's also preference. The beef and green peppers were so well balanced and beef was soo tender and soft, not dry over overcooked at all. The Chinese vegetable was very simple but crispy (not overly cooked) and the portion was bigger than I thought. Lastly and my favorite dish was the seafood fried rice. It doesn't looked seasoned and even plain but the taste is very clean, simple and elegant . Meaning it's fried rice but it's not greasy from the usual. The taste held well over the next 3 days (leftovers) and I can say that it still tasted as good as the day we ordered it. We had leftovers and I was able to enjoy them for lunch on a work day!!! Win! So yeah it might seem pricey for the food but I think it's worth it. It's the quality of the food and it's deff there. They ensure that the food stands out on it's own without having to cover it all up in heavy sauce or seasoning.
