I had such a strong craving for pelicana's fries so I convinced my boyfriend to get dinner with me here. I think I got him hooked on the fries with white snowing cheese too. He ate one and couldn't stop taking more fries. We might just need to ask for separate orders of fries next time because sharing these fries breaks my heart. I want it all!! Currently, this is my number one wings spot. This place is cool because they give you finger gloves so your fingers don't get messy from eating wings. My friend and I shared two orders. The first was an order of the 8 piece garlic spicy chicken wings. They weren't really spicy and we later learned that getting the spicy wings with some sauce on it (in this case the garlic) makes the wings less spicy. They were really good and crunchy however and juicy on the inside. I would get it again. The second order we went for the spicy wings without any sauce and level 2 marinade. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy some chicken and beers with your friends, then this is the place to be. Pelicana is one of my favorite chicken spots here in Flushing and I just can't get enough. There is such a large array of sauce choices and different levels of spiciness to fit all needs! I especially love the scallion chicken, the sauce is amazing and I love that it's in a separate bowl to ensure that the chicken remains crispy. There is also a huge selection of beers and mixed drinks. The mango frozen beer and mango soju mojito are amazing. Service is impeccable and they've been amazing whether it be just myself and one friend or a huge group of people. Parking gets a bit difficult here since it's one of the busier parts of Flushing but Pelicana is worth the walk, even if you have to park a few blocks away. The price is really great for the amount of chicken you get. The orders are huge so I'd recommend to get the 8 piece of different flavors (so everyone can try the different types) rather than ordering the full chickens if you're with a group. We wanted separate bill for a beer because we had someone who could not have beer on shared bill due to his religious beliefs. Girl who took our order asked me 3 different times if we must have beer on separate bill and I said yes!! Decided to come here for dinner on a Thursday night with a party of 3 and was seated right away. The place is kind of small.. it isn't really suited for large parties, but I could see they did the best they could with the space available. The calamari came out first in a decent amount of time and they were SOO good!! Those were devoured quickly and I wish there was more of them. The wings came out and though I ordered honey garlic, it tasted more like honey mustard which was disappointing. My friends got the regular chicken in elementary and middle school level. Its non-gmo, no transfat, with free range organic chickens that led a charmed life and had a spa day with a deep tissue massage of spices and a dip in a hot oil sauna before they gave themselves up as sacrafice to the fried chicken gods. I do wish they would bring back their sweet and sour sauce but for now I have been liking their sweet and spicy and honey garlic wings. They also have cheese topped wings called snowy cheese. I'm glad they got rid of those sweet potato sticks that although were super crispy used to be like digging your hands into a sharp haystack and stab you in the mouth when you eat them. They have onion rings as a side if you don't want fries. The finger condoms -ahem- gloves are also very helpful in keeping your hands pristine and clean since the wings get pretty sticky. But if you get the boneless you can just use a fork. No bones no problems only big chunks of spicy, crispy goodness. I also like their kimchi fried rice which comes with an egg and salad. Wow! I've always loved Korean food but this place takes it to a whole new level. This chain has two locations, one in flushing and the other in Sunnyside. Both places are phenomenal!! Nothing tastes as good as fried chicken feels. That's how that phrase goes, right? I have yet to find a person who disagrees with me that Korean fried chicken is the best kind of chicken. And Pelicana is at the upper echelon of that list. Right off the bat, their philosophy is different. Yes, they're technically a global franchise, but only have a few shops in New York. And they only serve USDA verified, vegetable-fed, non-GMO, cage-free chicken. They also don't reuse their oil. And you can taste the difference. Their menu is a little bit confusing, but once you start ordering, you get the hang of it. There are 3 types of boneless chicken (original, crispy fried and spicy fried) and 4 types of wings (original, crispy fried, spicy fried, and soy fried). On top of that, you can choose a wide number of sauces to go on top or on the side. And THEN, there's another sauce menu at the bottom (for dipping). Very confusing. We basically tried to order one of everything, but alas, our eyes were bigger than our stomach. We eventually settled on a spicy fried boneless, original wings, crispy fried wings and soy fried wings. Oh, and they accidentally made an extra order and gave us a SECOND boneless wings a few minutes after we ordered. So yeah... my friends and I are fat asses. In terms of the sauces, the garlic and hot chili are standard. But I honestly liked everything we had. The place is pretty big, and it looks like they do a lot of delivery/pickup orders as well. I'll be honest - the chicken tastes good and the sweet potato was perfectly crispy and sweet. BUT I won't return for two reasons. 1. When I ordered the whole chicken box, I didn't know they really meant WHOLE chicken. We found a long fried chicken neck in my meal.. and my poor dad didn't realize what it was until he bit into it.
