I scheduled a Mani&Pedi for my daughter and I. We showed up at 5PM as scheduled. My technician was so rude, she never miles or said a word to me. To get my attention at time she would just yank my foot...I was so surprised to be treated so unkindly ... I will never go back. My daughter had to wait about 15-20 min before a male technician showed up to take care of her. The actual mani and pedi were very average. Not relaxing at all, expecaially because the woman technician gave us dirty looks all the time we were there. I tried to smily and say a few words but she just looked at me like I was invading her planet...it will be a very lonely one with that kind of attitude. read more

I just got done & there's a few points I want to make. There was 4 of us on a walk-in, which should have been concerning from the start. Immediately after sitting down the woman doing my nails was rude. I had a pedicure done elsewhere about 3 weeks ago & she immediately started hacking at my cuticles which I didn't need. She nicked me once on my right foot, to which I said "ow". She said sorry, then I my left foot, she nicked me twice & I said ow. & she pulled me foot back & kept going. She dropped my foot pushed me around the whole time. I've never been so disrespected at a nail salon before. I almost cried I was so upset & in pain. Then the woman at the front comes up while our toes are drying & goes "who's paying?" We weren't even done yet... Ugh. Overall completely horrible experience. read more

I've been here several times. I love getting pedicures and tbh I go to relax and look forward to the massage part the most. Today was the worst one I've ever received. The woman talked very loudly to a co-worker behind her almost the whole time. She did my massage so fast and furious I thought she might be on crack. The rock portion hurt, because she was in such a hurry she kept hitting my ankle bone. It was not busy at all. Only a couple people. It gave me anxiety. And just to complain some more, I got there at 11:15 and the pedi ended at 11:50. I will never get her again, and definitely interested in finding a new place. This place was "ok". I was initially impressed walking in - the store was very clean and looked quite nice. The fill and shellac I got was also "ok" but I was not asked at any point what I wanted, what shape, length etc. At the price they charge, the service and attentiveness should be a lot better. I also got a pedicure and was SO disappointed. Again - nobody asks you anything. I had a gentleman do my pedicure - Im ok with that. But could be look more like he wanted to be anywhere else? The job was sub-par, he did a really crap job - the service itself was disappointing. And he coughed and sniffed/snorted the entire time. Take a damn dayquil already - and thanks for sniffing and snorting your germs all over my feet. I am too polite to say anything while getting a service done when stuff like this happens, but I wont be going back. read more

I have come to Pella Nails the last few times I've had a pedicure done. They always seem to be busy but never keep me waiting too long. I like the setting, it's a nice place, clean, friendly. My pedicure yesterday was great. They nearly spent an hour on it. (complete with the massaging chair, huge selection of colors, trimming nails and cuticles, callus removal, exfoliating, hot stone massage, painting nails, and don't forget about the cute flower). They even took the time to replace the fuse in the massage chair so my mom could sit next to me. :) Definitely worth the $25! read more

I love Pella Nails. I was paying $70 for a spa pedicure, and now I get essentially the same thing done at Pella Nails for $22. Plus, they give you a great foot massage with hot oil and rocks! The low price for a manicure - $11 - inspired me to try that too, and now it is part of my regular routine. The only reason I didn't give Pella 5 stars is because of their massage chairs. They aren't exactly uncomfortable, but aren't super comfortable either. I've sat in some at other salons that feel so good I never want to get up. Definitely not worth paying an extra $50 for though. I'll stick with Pella. So glad they are around!! read more

I've been back here multiple times and I have always been very happy with the service and quality work. I always come weekday mornings and I have been able to get a pedicure with no wait. Today a gentleman did my nails and he did a fantastic job with my callouses and massage; heavy-handed enough to not tickle my sensitive feet. I've been coming here for years and love this place. They are friendly, professional and I always get a great manicure and/or pedicure. They always give out drinks and/or snacks which is a nice touch. They're usually very busy but are still able to squeeze me in when I forget to make an appt. Avoid this place. I had two pedicures at Pella this summer. The first one my toenails were hardly clipped and so long that my toe nails caught on socks, no trimming around nails so that dead skin and callouses were no better than when I walked in, leg massage and scrub so short as to be a joke. The guy who did me was just lazy. When I returned 10 days later to have them redone they charged me and were so aggressive that two weeks later I still have scabs around my nail beds and left limping because they had cut the bottom of my foot. Katy was aware of the injuries because she put solutions on them, but never said a word. I had to ask her to be less aggressive. I have had pedicures for years and my feet are in good shape. I've had good luck here in the past, but TWO bad experiences is enough for me. read more

I used to love going to pella nails to get my nails done but unfortunately I will stop. The past couple times I have been in there, service was lacking, but today was the last straw. After waiting for 10 mins by the door I was moved to a pedicure chair to stick my feet in the water. Thinking I would only be waiting a little while longer for them start. Although that wasn't the case, workers started working on others feet that had walked in and sat down after me. After sitting in the chair for 30 mins and not receiving any service I decided to just put my shoes on leave. I wouldn't recommend this establishment for young women because you won't receive the same customer service and respect as the middle age customers around you. read more

If I could give this review zero stars I would. I have been going to Pella Nails in Sandy Utah for years. I had the worst experience today in terms of customer service; not in terms of the quality of the pedicure/manicure. I went in requesting that at the end of the manicure, I would like a top coat with a slight shimmer. The woman who was working on my nails was not able to understand my request, but every time I would ask again, she would in turn, ask someone else and my request would be ignored. At the very end I asked again and it was clear the woman was not able to understand english (which was fine with me), and she told me, 'no this is good and are we done?'. I just wish someone could have directed me on how to proceed and be understood. She again would ask someone else and they would say there were too many colors and it would be difficult for them to pinpoint the shade I was requesting (I was requesting a clear topcoat with a slight shimmer). I started looking at colors myself with the woman, who was clearly confused (but very nice). I asked the man who was sitting by the colors (working on someone else). It was clear he spoke English and that is why I was looking to him for some guidance. But when I addressed him, he responded (in an unfriendly manner) that 'he was working' and was not able to help. Finally the woman brought over some nail color swatches, which I went through and found the top coat I was looking for. I'm just curious why someone did not recommend that sooner. Towards the end the man the woman had been asking to help with english got rude towards me and upset at both me and the woman, as if it was our fault (since a. she did not speak english and was not able to follow directions, and b. he was insinuating that my request was in some way unreasonable). At this point a lot of the other women customers were staring at me in an unfriendly manner possibly thinking I was making some unreasonable requests, whereas all along, I was just looking for some guidance and some answers. Sorry Pella - this has to be said. I've been loyal to Pella for over a year. I sang their praises to everyone I knew - until yesterday. I was there for a mani/pedi, and the place wasn't super busy, but there were about 5 other ladies getting their nails done; it's World Cup time, so I politely asked if the "Food Network: How to bake the perfect cupcake" show could be changed to the game. First, the owner yelled "I cannot talk to you right now", the fire inspector was at the door - no biggie. Then a young boy came over to see what I needed and about a minute later, the owner came over and in a very loud tone (like, unnaturally loud) said "No, over 95% of my customers are women so we won't change the channel to sports". I was actually shocked into silence. In hindsight, I wish I could have said about 10 different things back to him, but mostly, I just wish I would have said 1) I'm a woman and I like sports and 2) Really? Cupcakes trump the World Cup? The two ladies next to me, one from the UK, both said they would have liked to watch the match as well. The two employees thanked me for asking and then warned me that the owner is an "A-hole". I watched this guy for the rest of my time there, yell at customers "GO PICK A COLOR", yell at employees and not make eye contact with anyone who walked in the door as he walked around barking orders in Vietnamese to everyone. I have no idea what he was saying, but I know it wasn't good. So Pella - you've lost a customer. Just can't give you any more of my hard earned money. Probably won't matter, there are lots of people who love Pella Nails - but I'm too disappointed to go back. What makes my decision easier to not go there anymore is that my pedi is already chipped, and my fingers look like I did them at home. So I will find somewhere else that gives a hot stone massage and a mini bottle of water and give them my business from here on out. read more

Very bad experience at Pella Nails. Shellac nails were horribly painted. I could have done a better job myself. Toes were no better. I talked to the manager and he said that there was nothing that could be done. Besides, he was very rude and condescending. I will NEVER go back again. It was a terrible experience and they should have at least offered me a refund or cared that I was so unhappy!!!!! If you happen to choose to go there, always ask for a woman. My absolute worst experience ever. I have never left a review for anywhere in my life, I just hope I can warn others I guess... The staff here doesn't ask what you want or how you like your nails, and then they do a terrible job. I went in with acrylics with shellac on top. I needed a fill and 2 nails replaced because I haven't had time to come in. I went with 2 friends for one of their birthdays and she recommended it. The technician instantly filed down my acrylics without asking and ripped them off. Then filed all my nails into different shapes, without asking my length or shape preference. She didn't file the top of my nails and didn't treat my cuticles, which clearly needed to be done. Anytime I tried to ask her something or give her input, she got defensive and responded with something totally unrelated. The shellac was old and thick, it went on clumpy and she just kept painting over the clumps. She kept insisting on how pretty they looked, but the ends are misshapen and jagged, and the shellac doesn't even come close to my cuticle. BIG WASTE OF MONEY. read more

I've really tried to give this place a chance. Last time my pedicure and brow wax were butchered. This time there was a miscommunication with my pedicure service. The quality and customer service are average at best, so as long as your expectations are not too high- you'll be ok. My favorite nail salon thus far. I always get their pedicure, which is $23, and it includes a salt scrub, hot stone massage, and hot towels. Their massage chairs are very new and the whole place is very appealing to the eye. They always give you a little bottle of water to sip on during you pedicure. I see a lot of reviews on here about Pella that are bad, but I think it totally depends on the person doing your nails. I have been going here for years, and it's the best place around. I saw comments about them not asking what shape you want, etc -- again, totally depends on the person. I am always asked multiple times if the shape is good, the color is good, etc. I have not liked a color before and they kindly remove it and repaint another color. If the water is too hot, you can ask them to make it colder -- no biggie. There is a man there that does pedicures that is light on the scrubbing, so if you had rough feet going in, you will probably have rough feet going out. I try not to get him -- I think he is just trying to be gentle. And one woman talks my ear off while massaging, and more than anything I just want to sit and enjoy my massage -- but I'm not paying $60 for a pedicure, I'm paying $20. So again, no big deal. On weekday morning they are uncrowded and get you in right away. They have always been extremely accommodating -- even for walk-ins -- which is all I ever do. If you go a few times, you will find someone you like, and then you can just continue to ask for that person. It's the best place around for sure if you don't want to spend a lot of money. read more

I will never get my eyebrows waxed there. Simple service, great job ,done in less then 10 min. My turn off was seeing my bank statement and finding an additional 50 cents on there. Figure out 7 days in a week times how many people going in there paying with a credit/debit card. What a profit they are making. I know they have to pay the bank some money for C/C transactions but, that's why they're running the business. Go ahead and screw the consumer. I'll go down a little way to Fantastic Sam's and they charge the same price but, not the additional 50 cents. Horrible service! Rude! Can't keep track of their customers. I have been sitting in a chair for over 30 minutes while people who have arrived after me have been helped. I came in at the same time as my niece who is getting a manicure. There was a mom and son who arrived at the same time as us who have now left. I admit that I have an ugly foot due to a previous surgery. I have a number of scars. All of the technicians looked at me as though I was diseased and walked away from me. It's humiliating. My niece is now finished and I don't even have a towel under my feet. I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK! read more

I love this place. I've been going for years because the service is consistent and top quality. I've never had to wait more than the time it takes to pick out a polish. I also go for facial waxing at a fair price and a great job. I see kids, men, all types of customers. My daughter recommended this place for the pedicure. She said it was relaxing and they did a great Job. I went there in desperation, struggling with a headache. What a delight. The jetted foot massage tub and the massage chair felt fantastic. Then I got 3 very wonderful massages on my calves and feet, including a hot rock massage. The actual pedicure on the feet was neat and clean, and looked great. I left, to my surprise without the headache I came in with. I have been several times since, and loved the treatment. A note: Most there do not speak Vietnamese, not English. They tell you how to move by hand gestures, and a few English phrases. read more

Came in, waited a good 30 minutes before I was called back for my manicure. Then, waited another 15 before the guy came back to start. He did not file my nails or do anything to them. The only thing he did was: Glue on the tips, shape and paint. I wanted the shape oval-ish. He charged me an extra $5 for the shape. Didn't paint the sides of my nail. My nails are not straight. He then made me pay, before he painted them. I gave him a $5 tip. He then asked if he could have $10 because I had two, twenty dollar bills. He wanted to make it an even $10 tip. No change back. I visited this salon four times over the course of a few months. My first experience, having an manicure and pedicure, was great! The woman who provided the services was attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately, I don't have her name. The next few times, the service was okay and the pedicure and manicures were also fine. Nothing you can't find in lots of other salons in the area. This last time I went for a manicure with my daughter. They were very busy but were able to take us right away. The gentleman who was giving me the manicure had a mask (a surgical mask, which is fine, I understand why) on his face, didn't greet me, and was taking appointments from people walking in for services. This was not the problem although in most of my nail salon experiences, the person who is doing the work usually makes eye contact and greets me pleasantly. The problem arose when I asked him not to cut my cuticles and just push them back. Long story sort of short, he challenged me rudely, asking what I expected from a manicure and when I answered him, calmly, telling him what I want, he asked me again what I expect from a manicure. He was curt and rude and at that point, I felt I didn't need to put up with that and decided to leave. He screamed at me and on my way out the door called me CRAZY! And I could only see his eyes, which were full of anger from the minute he sat across from me. I was very calm throughout this interaction. I simply got up and told him I'd go somewhere else. I have been going here off and on for years, but I think I've decided to move on for good. They do give a good pedicure for a good price, but price isn't everything. Yesterday I went in with my daughter. She has a young child and we haven't been able to go together for quite awhile, so it was a treat. We were seated quickly and they began her pedicure. However, it took over 10 minutes for them to start mine. The lady who did it said "hi" when she started and then did not ask me any questions or communicate with me at all during the pedicure. She would just push and pull my feet when she wanted me to move them. My daughter was finished way before me and asked to move to the waiting area. We both felt rushed to get out, not giving the polish time to dry. Because of this we each had a nail that got messed up. When we asked for it to be fixed, they just smoothed it a bit and painted over it. Looks awful. Left feeling anything but relaxed. read more
