I have had many great treats from this stand but decided to pop in for myself. It's a cute family venue with plenty of options even on a midweek afternoon . Lots of bakery options but be sure to get a pie! While Ashaway seems like a hike it is easy to reach off 95 and you'll be glad you popped in. Pelloni Farm has the absolute best bakery items. When you walk in, the subtle scent of fresh baked sweets pleasantly greets you. I go there every week to buy different items. I came to the Pelloni Farm with my boyfriend's mom and her friend, and was so delighted by this charming little barn, and all of its diverse jams, sauces, and bakery goods. We split a piece of berry crumble, and each of us had a cup of coffee. The coffee was delicious, but the main star was the crumble. Super messy (as a good crumble should be), and super moist. To top it off, I bought two sizeable jars of apple butter and pumpkin butter for just $9. What a Labor Day treat, indeed! read more

Wicked delicious pies. Like the type Hickey Finn would have stolen from his neighbor's window sill. About $5 more than the crappy supermarket pies but it's (a) much bigger; (b) the old style flakey homemade crust is spectacular (c) it's loaded with quarts of real --not canned-- fresh fruit from the farm. The fruit alone, if you were to make an equivalent pie, would cost you $30. Don't bother. These pies are the bomb. read more

Such a charming place, I love coming here for some treats and everyone is so welcoming! Everything we've tried so far has been delicious. The pies are amazing - crust is made with real butter, yum! The filling is fruity and not too sweet. When you have good ingredients, there is no need for all that sugar in a pie filling - and Pelloni Farm pies are just perfect. Quick disclaimer: I didn't actually visit the farm itself. But I bought a Pelloni Farm apple pie from a small farm stand a few miles away in Stonington (Stonington Gardens). The pies were delivered that day from Pelloni Farm. Hands down, the best apple pie I've ever eaten. The crust was buttery and flaky. The apples tasted fresh. The spices were perfect. I live just over 90 minutes away and I would make the drive for another pie! read more

You have to support the local area guys and in this case, you will be richly rewarded. It is not a huge place on the inside and it is not a place that turns out 'quantity'. It is a place that turns out quality and things with just a nice little twist. So what does Big Bob recommend? Well, let us start off with the Sticky Bun. They have several versions. I had the caramel with nuts. It also comes without nuts (but why bother, am I right) and one that is smeared with a mixed berry concoction. So I will have to come back and try that one, but the one with the caramel drizzled all over just looked too good. Score, it was really good. We also purchased a brick of carrot cake. I would like to say 'slice' but it was a big as a brick and about as dense. So if you are like my wife, who is the carrot cake fanatic, that is how it is to be served and this one did not disappoint. She has now found her new favorite carrot cake place. Lastly there was a cinnamon twist. Normally I do not bother with these. They all seem to be the same... you know, you bit into them, they crumble away and have little taste. Oh you know I am telling the truth. This one however did not. It was soft and moist and bursting with sweet and cinnamon flavor. My daughter thinks this is made with a 'danish' pastry dough. It was super yum. So this is a log way out, exit 1 by CT. But if you passing through, you must stop. Hopefully you will go in the shop when they are in full on bake mode. It smelled awesome. We go there off and on several times each year. They are always very friendly and accommodating. Their pies are outstanding, best crust ever. We especially like the mixed berry and the patriot pie. I was here awhile back for some pastries. I loved the banana bar they had, very dense. The cupcake was good, carrot cake just ok. They also sell jam and some other groceries. This place is great, it's a farm that grows all their own veggies and berries and sell them fresh in the store. They also have a bakery onsite and utilize all the berries in their goodies. The cannolis are the best I have ever had, no joke. It's hard to find a nice bakery without getting those same old same old italian cookies. They have have fresh pies, whoppie pies, cakes, cookies, and fresh bread. They also make their own jam from all the fresh berries, tastes so fresh and it's all natural since they do not use any pesticides. They have some great treats for sale from the bakery and during the summer months offer up fresh produce and berries grown locally. Pelloni Farm is only open from April to November. They are a bakery and a berry farm. THE BEST cannoli's I have ever had!!! They also use there fresh raspberries, blackberries and blueberries in there baked goods, like there crumb cake!! Maybe the BEST I have ever been to. The selection is semi small but EVERYTHING is wonderful. The Jams, Jelly, preserves are fantastic. The smal round bread is great and freezes perfectly. The prices are very reasonable. I MISS this place in the winter.
