Online, this place says that first round for military is $8 and second round is $4. At the physical location, the wall says 36 holes is $12. Which makes perfect sense based off the website. I went with another military member so our total should have been $24 for 2 rounds or 36 holes. He charged us $13 per person or $26 total. I'm not arguing over two dollars though. That would have been perfectly fine had the person working behind the counter politely explained the discrepancy however, When questioned why they couldn't honor the sign, the guy (self proclaimed knows what he's doing because he's worked there 8 months) stated that it's because we didn't have a military child? We ran both courses, which was fun. Bigger parties should understand basic etiquette and allow 1-2 players to move on ahead. We ended up playing the same hole about 3 times before being able to move to the next hole. What really frustrated me though is that when we left (ten minutes before their closing time) we were at the car when we realized that the car key was missing. We ran back and asked if we could look and that same worker said, "ok-but make it quick." The guy just really put a foul taste in my mouth for this place. This complex is great and has a lot of options. There are two mini golf courses to choose from, or you can do the "all you can golf" option and do lots. We went over a holiday weekend, so that probably impacted the long wait times between holes. My biggest gripe was the carpeting by the holes as it was not stapled/glued down sufficiently & groups often did not carefully take the balls out of the hole when they were done. read more

We took my parents for a double date and had a blast - we played 18 holes and it was super affordable ($10 each) but they also have senior ($6 each) and military ($8 each) discounts. Have parents supervise their children. There was a kids party going in but 5 kids kept running around unsupervised through the courses and ponds. At one point they used cups to fill them with pond water and spilled it all over the pace. They kept going into the pond (mostly feet but one even sat inside) taking out the crawfish. We had our team building here this year and it was a lot of fun! I am never a fan of mini golf. The last time I played was almost 9 years ago on one of my first dates with James at boomer! James tried to teach me but I just had no patience. Maybe I am older now so I am more OK with mini golf?Some of my teammates are very good with golf and I actually played through the whole course. We went through 18 holes in about an hour and half with 5 people in the team. The place is very clean. There are shaded benches. We got food catered from the little food place there. We got chicken, beef and vegetable tacos. Both of the meats were very tender. The flavors were good too. If I have to say something, that's the vegetable and the beef could be a little less watery. And the tortilla could be a little smaller. The cookies we got were gigantic chocolate chip cookies. There were beer and sodas. Everyone got what they like. It's a fun spot to take the family for some competitive golf action. Even though it's miniature golf, you still better have some good hand eye coordination or else the balls are going to be zig zagging all over the place. The place is located next to the driving range across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Their course is fun but after awhile, you will notice that it's not like Family Fun Centers or Boomers. FFC and Boomers have their course designed very well where all the holes are challenging, here, the majority of the holes are repetitive. However, for $10, you get what you paid. Lance, who works in the shop has great customer service and our whole group recognized how pleasant he was. It's hard to mess up mini-golf, and this place was just fine. Their rates are reasonable (something like $9.50 for 18 holes, and another $3 to play the other 18). The parking lot is decent sized, and the course is in pretty good condition. There isn't much shade as you walk around, but they do have a snack bar area with covered tables and even draft beer! Located in the fairgrounds area, this place had traffic from both ends (entering and exiting the location). Once we arrived, we were able to find parking despite the area having golf, tennis, volleyball, and more activities/buildings. The actual mini golf was a good experience; we paid for both courses for $15 per person ($10 for one of the two courses). Since we had one person pay for everyone, they gave us a discount (one person free). It took about an hour and half to finish both courses, and some were quite fun. My only complaint was that many of the courses were too easy. I would still recommend this place if you are looking for a fun activity for a small group of people; if you have too many people (around 4+), it can take a while and hold up the line for others. read more

While I agree with a previous reviewer that the holes themselves aren't all the exciting, I will disagree that it is in any kind of disrepair. The two courses they have are kept up quite well IMO. I have been twice now, and have had no issues with them as far as that. Try checking out BOOMERS if you want to see some tore up courses. The two courses can very much do with some added items though, to give it a bit of excitement. Many holes are very standard, and visually have nothing going on However I would probably trade that since they have plenty of parking, children aren't running around like banshees, and the courses are maintained. Tucked right next to the Del Mar Fair Grounds and the 5 freeway, I was pleasantly supplied at how crowded this mini golf attraction was. With a fun ocean theme they have a total of 36 holes to play. The price is worth it but each hole wasn't a huge obstacle and left much to desire. We went on a cloudy day but it would be harsh direct sunlight if it was sunny as there's no coverage. Place was kept up but still out dated like most amusement type places have gotten in San Diego. Came here recently with a friend and honestly forgot how fun mini golf was!! The only other time I've mini golfed was when I was younger at Family Fun Center and Boomers. Pelly's is cool because they have 2 full 18 holes of mini golf and you can decide which route you want to take! They have some easier holes and some more challenging ones but it is a great time with friends! They even have a score card so it makes it feel like the real thing! I would definitely recommend coming when the sun is not beaming down on you because there is not much shade and could get hot. The cleanest and best maintained minigolf course I've ever been. I will definitely come back with my daughter again for this place. Really puts to shame the Boomers and other places in Orange County that I've taken my child. Everyone kept their social distance and was well mannered, to boot. What a cool little mini golf course tucked away near the race track. A full range, teaching facility and putting green is the featured attraction, but the min courses are no side dishes either. I happen to know one of the local pros (Maiya Tanaka) here so I reached out to her ahead of time to get her thoughts on mini golf. She recommended it so we decided to take a shot! You can choose from two 18 hole courses and besides the ocean themes what I enjoyed most is the holes weren't too gimmicky. There were undulations in the putting surfaces, yet they were fair. If you hit a good putt, there was a good chance it would go in the hole (except for maybe hole 18). We never felt rushed as a foursome and you didn't have to wear a mask while playing which was nice. My kids really enjoyed it and got kind of competitive with it. I think we plan to come back to play the other 18 on a another trip! read more

The "greens" are actually blues, and a different material than the traditional green felt. Very nice mini golf course just near the fairgrounds. There are a lot of other golf stores, driving range, etc so it was a little hard to find at first. They have 2 different 18 hole courses but the Ocean Adventure one is better overall and more reasonable especially with kids the Surfin' Safari might be too hard for kids. Best mini golf site ever. Forget Boomers! Took the girlfriend out for the classic mini golf date and we had a blast. Spent less than $20 for both of us and did two 18 hole courses, both ocean themed. The obstacles aren't that hard though. It's just little bumps and turns but nothing too hard. Staff was very friendly. I accidentally hit 2 balls in the water and I thought I would get in trouble the second time but it was no big deal. Plan to go before the sun goes down. The lighting isn't that great at night and my girlfriend and I could barley see where the holes were. I've been here 3x and it never gets old! read more

This little place is great! I have seen it for years off the 5 freeway and decided to check it out with the kids. One poor review below was odd as this is MINI golf, and if it is easier for kids they have a great time, and the 5, 7 and 13 year old i had with me had a blast! A few holes in one is a great confidence booster! The staff was helpful, the place was CLEAN - nothing like Boomers dilapidated state. Only complaint was the snack bar was closed.
