LOVED this little place! Great ambiance, one of those cool little places that the locals go. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food did not disappoint! I had the country fried steak and my wife had the Mediterranean omelet and we were both very pleased. The portions are large and the prices are great for the quality of the food. Highly recommend and would definitely return!

Moving up here from Manteca February 2024, I've always wanted to try this place and I finally did!! My boyfriend took me here for breakfast and as you can see from the pictures, the food was delicious!! I love the atmosphere inside. Employees friendly and always smiling and asking if everything is alright. Portions were huge!! We will definitely come back!! I rate it a 5

The food is good and the portions are decent. The ambiance and look of the place is cozy and inviting. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they only sell drip coffee; no lattes, cappuccino, etc.

1st time back in while, came in with my daughter for breakfast on a Saturday mid morning place was packed as always, but we got a table right away. Our waitress came over pretty fast with ice water and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. I got the corn beef hash with over easy eggs and hash-brown. The corn beef hash was good, egg were prefect and hash-brown was crispy on both sides. My daughter got a waffle with strawberries and bananas with a side of avocado. She loved it!!!

We visited on a Saturday and found parking right away along the street. It was busy/lively when we visited and got seated right away. We got our drinks (water and coffee) as soon as we were seated. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Krabby Cake Benedict which was really good and full of flavor; definitely recommend! My fiancé ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and he said it was good!

I've lived in the area for some time now and so sad I only recently stopped in. Staff was very welcoming and attentive- we were seating right away and the coffee refills were flowing. Always appreciate that. I loved their huveos a la mexicana. It was flavorful, and spicy, but not overly spicy. And the person I came with, really enjoyed their hash. Will definitely come back.

I came here for a team lunch and just loved my experience. I couldn't stop looking at the decor, the old photos and camera just captivated my attention. I ordered the BLT and it was delicious, great temperature and texture. My only feedback is they couldn't cooked the bacon a bit longer. The fries were crispy and flavorful. The service was excellent. I just had a great time and will return.

what a nice little café to stop by on our road trip. Very welcoming atmosphere a lot of seating and we got our food. Pretty fast in the service was good. The café is decorated with a lot of antiques which helped with passing time waiting for the food to get there. A lot of history in this café.

Sometimes, I don't get enough sleep. And it shows. We had to drop off a vehicle at the local Honda dealership for warranty work. Then we headed for breakfast. Our first choice had no nearby parking, so we headed for our second choice. Pelton Cafe is staffed by friendly people. The food is good and service is usually pretty quick. We ordered and got coffee as soon as we sat down. The menu has standard breakfast items plus some Mexican flavors. My usual go-to is either Chicken Fried Steak or Huevos Rancheros. Today, for whatever reason, I also felt like a Waffle Combination with Eggs and Bacon. It took a minute for the server to come take our order and when it was my turn, I completely spazzed. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy. That comes with Two Eggs, which I got Over Easy and then a choice of Hash Browns or Grits. For bread, I asked for a Biscuit with more Gravy. That's already a decent sized breakfast but my mouth kept running and I also ordered some Bacon that I most definitely did not need. She got Breakfast #3 which had Two Pancakes, Three Eggs Over Easy and Four Link Sausages, Small Glass of Juice and included Coffee. Not to worry. We are eating professionals. We enjoyed our meals. There were no leftovers or any food wasted.

Waffle Combo w/ an extra waffle & then a side of French Toast (2) & country potatoes

I've been craving this place since the last time I posted on Yelp when I went here so I wanted to go there & this time try the French toast. We went today also because I thought they weren't going to be open tomorrow for Labor Day and after speaking to the owner we could have came here tomorrow for my mom's birthday but it's okay. We did have to go on a waitlist when we came but we didn't even wait that long it was like maybe less then 3 minutes til they sat us down. It didn't take long for our food since I already knew what to get. Food was delicious like always & the servers were very sweet. My mom & I enjoyed the food & love coming here & talking to the owner who's very sweet & caring

Ask the Community - Pelton Cafe

Will it be open on Christmas?

I know my answer is not helpful but I don't know if they are or not. I know that there were a lot of businesses in Hayward closed for XMAS. Best to call them a few weeks before to confirm to be sure.

We sat outside since we had a doggo with us. When Han saw that we also had my toddler with us, she immediately brought out a coloring page, crayons, and water straw cup. I always appreciate places that think of the little ones! It was going to be a bit cramped to fit everything on one table so Han proactively suggested adding another table. Truly appreciate how attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating she was. For the 3.5 of us, we ordered 3 starters and 1 main. My girlfriends don't stuff themselves like I do, so we had plenty of food to share and bring home. First of all, definitely order the SMOKED BRISKET. I was shocked at how good this was. Haven't had brisket this good in a long time. The meat was so tender, flavorful, and had a perfect amount of fattiness to it. The baked beans, potato salad, and cornbread were all delicious too. I want to order this every time I go back now. The deviled eggs comes with 5. Love how the chili crunch and pickled cucumbers provide contrasting textures to the deviled eggs itself. All the ingredients and flavors really complemented each other. The garlic parmesan fries were yummy and come with your choice of sauce. And lastly, the hot artichoke and jalapeño dip comes with slices of sourdough baguette. I enjoyed this but wish they toasted the bread. Also, they have a wonderful selection of alcohol. I'm 6 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding so I sadly opted out of drinking this time around but looking forward to coming back and getting a cocktail to go along with the smoked brisket :P

They have different lemonades you can order and we got the house made I think it was blueberry lemonade and it was really good. Didn't get to try drinks at the bar but would come back to try it next time.

The drink/cocktail list is vast, but we are not much of a cocktail drinker and not usually drink during lunch, but I saw Matcha Sharka being ordered a lot and the other seemingly popular drink was this lavender drink. If you are a cocktail drinker during lunch, do check them out. We ordered 4 shareable items: * Savoy Donuts - 5 stars - fluffy and yummy, not greasy at all * Focaccia w/ Meyer Lemon and Garlic Confit - 4.5 stars - wonderful texture, did not taste the garlic much but the lemon was really good add. * Grilled Beef and Pork Chipolata - 4 stars - I think the star was the dressing. The meat itself was just okay. * Rice Vermicelli Bowl - 4.5 stars - not sure why it is called a bowl when it was served more in a plate. This is the fusion take on the Vietnamese dish with different dressing. We selected the Galangal Pork, which I did not like as much compared to the usual Vietnamese ones with Lemon Grass. There is a choice to select Lemongrass chicken instead, so you might want to try that. The pork tasted "porky" despite it was thinly cut. I was hoping to try dessert, but we were full so we did not do that. Next time. The restaurant is nicely set, and you can select indoor or outdoor seating. We did make a reservation, but when we arrived there were plenty of tables available. Service was fine, we did not get the "is this your first time" greeting as I heard other tables got. But it was our first time.

The standout dish is the short rib massaman curry. The moment we took our first bite, we both looked at each other because it was that good! We ordered: - thai iced teas - the khao hom waffle - samosas - roti with curry dip - koong karee The thai teas were unfortunately on the milky side, and weren't very strong tasting. I recommend the lychee iced tea instead! When I used to go, I always got the thai tea pancake but they have since removed it from their menu. Although this was a pretty devastating revelation, I went with their waffle instead. I thought that the waffle still super delicious, and I loved that it had coconut meat cooked into the batter. It comes garnished with fruit and coconut flakes, which was a plus. While I thought it was a delicious choice, I do not think it was a proper replacement for my thai tea pancake. The samosas and roti were both so delicious, flavorful, and savory. The portions aren't huge, but the flavors make up for it. The koong karee was the star of the show! The prawns were so well cooked, and came in the most delicious egg & curry sauce. I loved the vegetables that came in the dish, as well. You can't go wrong with the tiger prawns, and they go so well with some jasmine rice on the side. Overall, we keep coming back for good reason!
