I decided to try DT Dim Sum after seeing a food blogger on Instagram hype it up saying it was better than Dim Sum House and that the portions were bigger. Dim Sum House has always been my go to so I wanted to compare. Prices at Dim Sum House are more reasonable and cheaper than DT Dim Sum, plus they make everything fresh to order. When I placed an online order at DT my food was ready in about five minutes. That tells me the food was already sitting in the back either steaming or being kept warm. I ordered siu mai, steamed beef balls, and steamed tofu skin with oyster sauce. Honestly all three were disappointing. The siu mai was doughy and you could really taste the flour. The steamed beef balls were terrible and tasted like pho beef balls. If you have ever had the beef balls at Dim Sum House you know how amazing they are and these were nothing like that. The steamed tofu skin had too much fungus in it and an odd odor with a strange aftertaste. I am glad I gave it a try but I will not be coming back. As for the claim that the dim sum is larger, I found it to be maybe slightly bigger or about the same size, but not worth it since it costs more and does not taste good.

    5/19/25 FYI. Menu.

Quality/Quantity - My wife said we used to be regular customers here, why can I not remember?!?! Maybe she used to be a regular customer?!?! Anyways - A simple "to-go" place. Decent selection, reasonable prices; but there are so many good Dim Sum places in the Bay Area, East Bay Area, etc. Decent size menu, see pictures. Atmosphere - Small to-go place. Plenty of mall parking, but I am sure it might be a challenge on weekends. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm. Closed for their lunch break from 2pm to 2:30pm. Service - Counter service. I like the fact that you guys have online ordering. And delivery. Price - Reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2007...?

Went to Foodnet next-door. Was craving congee so decided to stop by here. We got the pork and preserved egg congee, as well as the siu mai, har gao, spinach dumplings, and the rice roll with beef stew. The siu mai were very plump and juicy, however, the rest of the dumplings are all very doughy. The beef stew had good umami flavor, however, the rice roll noodles with it were pretty plain/bland since they weren't marinated in the beef stew broth. The congee was great though, a little on the thicker side, but full of pork-will definitely order that again. We ordered to go and our food was ready pretty quickly. You can also order online however they do have a small service fee for doing so. I'd consider ordering the beef stew as an à la carte, but we definitely return for the congee and the siu mai.

This place is such a hidden gem!!! it's been a while since I came back and it still taste the same as before! It's always made fresh and the qualities are always there! Surface is always amazing. They keep their store super clean as well. Definitely we will be back.

Friday, 4/11/3025 San Leandro, CA I just spent the week at a conference in Oakland, CA, and today I was making like a banana and splitting, but first I had to fuel up with some dim sum before hitting the airport. So we found this teeny-tiny hole in the wall, and let me tell you, it was off-the-chain delicious . The portions were ginormous, the prices were super reasonable, and the flavor was so on point that every bite left you begging for another. Check out the pics for the menu. This is a take out place with a few small tables as a sit-in. I give place a 5 star because the food was delicious and the service was quick.

Solid spot for takeout dim sum and congee! I ordered the congee and soy milk--both were good but not amazing. The congee was comforting, though I wish it had a bit more depth in flavor. The soy milk was fresh and not too sweet, which I appreciated. This place is mostly geared for takeout, as there are only a few tables, so I wouldn't recommend dining in. The service is quick, it's a chill vibe. Overall, a good option if you're looking for a quick and convenient bite!

There are two egg custard buns on the menu, what is the difference between the steamed egg custard bun and the lava bun?

Lava bun is more runny. It's a salty egg custard bun if you've ever had that.

Are you open for orders on Xmas day?

Is it better to call in one's order, instead of doing it at the store?

I called it in, drove over, paid, and got my food with less than a few minutes of waiting. I definitely recommend calling ahead, unless there's a language barrier, or you want to point at menu items.

Does anyone know if they're open? Called a few times and there was no answer. TIA!

Our re-opened schedule are extend to 4/11/2020 sorry for the inconvenience

To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore.

My group and I stopped by recently for morning dim sum, and we were incredibly impressed by the changes. The Atmosphere & Vibes The modern, newly remodeled interior looks fantastic. The space feels much brighter, cleaner, and more upscale than before, making it a wonderful environment for everything from a casual family breakfast to a larger celebratory gathering. They've managed to create a contemporary look while keeping the welcoming energy alive. The Food: A Noticeable Step Up While the new decor is great, the real star of the show is the improved flavor and quality of the dim sum. You can tell they've refined their recipes and perhaps brought in some fresh culinary talent. Here were the standouts from our meal: Baked BBQ Pork Buns (Cha Siu Bao): Absolute perfection. The tops had that ideal, sweet, crumbly crust, and the pork filling was savory, rich, and not overly gelatinous. Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): A true test of any dim sum kitchen. The skins were perfectly translucent and delicate without tearing, packed with plump, snappy shrimp that tasted incredibly fresh. Siu Mai: Flavorful, juicy, and well-seasoned. The texture was spot-on--not dense or heavy. Egg Tarts (Dan Tat): The puff pastry was beautifully laminated and flaky, holding a perfectly smooth, warm, and subtly sweet egg custard. Service & Value Despite the upgraded ambiance and food quality, the service remains efficient and attentive. Teas were kept hot and refilled promptly, and the dishes arrived fresh and steaming from the kitchen.

We decided to drive over and give it a try. When we arrived, the cashier greeted us politely and asked what we would like to order. We requested half of a roasted duck. She acknowledged the order and called over to the chef to prepare it. The chef walked over and selected a duck hanging on the left side. My mom politely asked if we could instead have the half duck hanging on the right side, mainly because it appeared to be a larger portion. Unfortunately, the chef ignored her request as if he hadn't heard it. I then kindly repeated the request and asked if we could have the one on the right instead. At that point, the chef placed the duck he had taken down back onto the rack and proceeded to serve the next customer in line. He then continued assisting additional customers who arrived afterward while completely ignoring us. After waiting for a while without any acknowledgment, my mom became frustrated and said we should just leave and not purchase anything. Once we said that, the chef suddenly became aggressive and started yelling, saying, "Why the f*** would I cut open a whole duck just to give you half?" As we were leaving, I calmly asked him if the duck on the right side was already cut in half, because we were not asking him to cut a new one. He responded with his mask hanging below his nose and said, "Yes, it's cut in half. So what? I don't want to sell it to you." This interaction was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I'm not sure if he is the chef or the owner, but basic respect and communication with customers should always come first. Due to the situation, I decided to take a photo of the individual. When he noticed, he became even more agitated and chased after my mom and me toward our car. For a moment, I genuinely felt concerned about my mom's safety. He followed us to the car and began trying to take photos of us as well. It was shocking to see someone become so aggressive over a simple request regarding half of a roasted duck. Experiences like this make customers feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and it is not something anyone should have to deal with when simply trying to purchase food. Thankfully my mom and I were not hurt. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN even If it is the last roast duck place in San Leandro, I rather drive up to San Francisco than to spend my money here.
