[[HIGHLIGHT]]There was some confusion about the time and day for which I'd scheduled appointment, but I was happy to reschedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the "technicians" finally arrived and had completed cleaning my carpet, swathes of dirt remained in various areas and the steps had dark lines of dirt to either side of each step. At first, I didn't say anything because I hoped that it would resolve when the stairs dried. It did not. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I texted the company. They said the problem was likely due to "wicking" and sent the technician" to resolve the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While the stripes of dirt are a little bit lighter now, they are still clearly evident. I didn't even bother to ask them to address other patches of dirt. Admittedly, it had been a good while since my carpets had been cleaned, but I paid a good amount of money for poor results. Much as I would like to, I cannot recommend this carpet care company. It's important to note, much to their credit Peninsula Carpet Care stands behind their work. Called Peninsula after seeing several recommendations for the service on nextdoor.com. Jason assigned Christian and Logan to clean the carpeting in my home. I enjoyed dealing with them -- they were courteous, efficient, and my 25-year-old carpeting still looks good. We were very surprised by how much moisture they were able to extract. The carpeting seemed moist, not wet when they finished. After 24 hours everything seemed pretty dry. That has not been my experience in the past. I've used several other companies over the years and was never interested in calling them for a second job. That's not going to happen with Peninsula. One day I was sitting there looking at my once beautiful cream colored Berber carpet and thinking "Wow! This carpet is really stained and disgusting!" I found this company on Yelp and decided to give them a shot after reading all the fantastic reviews. I'm going to echo the praises-- Jayson called me within an hour of me sending an e-mail, despite it being well into the evening. I'd expected to maybe hear back the next day, but he was incredibly prompt! I explained to Jayson what the problem was (window AC unit had leaked, stained the carpet, and smelled like dirty sneakers), and he explained exactly what had happened with the carpet and how they could reverse it all. We set up an appointment, and right on time, Alex and Christian showed up and got straight to work. In exactly an hour, they had my floors looking like new. They have a minimum charge for coming out, but for $100, they cleaned the carpets in two bedrooms and our hallway. I'll admit, I didn't shop around for pricing, but I'll gladly pay that for prompt, professional service and quality work with trustworthy people. Alex also left a bottle of their detergent-less spot cleaner which they refill for life. It was a nice little bonus to an already great experience. I'll recommend these guys to anyone. They absolutely deserve your business. Update: Once again, I'm deeply impressed. The best in town. I used to try to clean my own carpets with a cleaning machine I bought at Costco... what a joke. Then I used Stanley Steamer -- which was good enough. My neighbor recommended Peninsula. I've hired Peninsula Carpet Cleaning twice -- both times they arrived on-time, gave a very fair price then exceeded expectations. They are very detail oriented and use very good equipment that I have not seen used elsewhere. They work efficiently. You might find cheaper but you won't find better. Today we had our carpets cleaned by Peninsula Carpet Care (619) 275-5555 and I have to say how impressed I am. I chose this company because instead of using soap they use alkaline water (which contains phosphoric acid and sodium salt) to deep clean the carpet without the residue of soap. As I learned soap residue often causes carpets to trap dirt, thus becoming dirtier faster and also I didn't like the idea of soap residue on a carpet where my dogs spend a great part of their day. Jayson and Logan from Peninsula were both very professional and informative. They arrived on time and got right to work after a thorough but brief and educational assessment of the carpet in my home. The first time they came to my house, they charged me $145 for my whole house (1 large livingroom/office area + 3 bedrooms). They did a great job, no complaints there. The carpet was clean and stayed clean for a good 2 months, which is a little better than my previous carpet cleaning guy. Having said that, the previous carpet cleaning guy only charges me $80 for my whole house. That's $65 more, but I bought into all this talk about cleaning with all this natural products and not leaving any chemicals in the carpet. Last week, I called to have them come by and clean my house again. They showed up today, this time two guys showed up (one with a clipboard and another with a rolling measuring tape). They walked into my house saying, "Ok, it's going to be $0.50/sq foot" and start measuring my living room. After they measured, the guy with the clipboard made the calculations and right way tells me, "the living room is going to be $130." I was a little surprised since the previous time it was only $145 for the whole house, so I said something and it was as if they were playing good cop, bad cop. One guy says, we can call and talk to our boss, meanwhile the other guy is saying, "no, no, our boss said to charge $0.50/sq foot. Then they went on to measure one of the bedrooms, which was completly empty and the "good cop" is like, we can charge you $0.35/square foot for this room since it's completely empty and the other guy says, no the boss said $0.50/sq foot. Needless to say, I didn't do it. The quote to do the whole house came out to almost double what they charged me the first time. I guess I'll be calling my old carpet cleaning guy again, since Peninsula Carpet Care is more interested in making sure they turn a BIG profit instead of keeping a happy, repeat customer. read more

What a fabulous experience. This is a great company. They were easy to contact, excellent communicators (Thanks Jayson), and easy to schedule. The carpets hadn't been cleaned in 4 years and they look like new. Jayson and Zack were so thorough and included extra touches like moving small furniture for us, putting pads under furniture legs, sequencing the work so that they could use fans for awhile in the places they did first, and even leaving a spot cleaning solution. The carpets felt somewhat dry even by the time they left - no soggy feeling, no icky residue. And the price was so reasonable. No wonder the reviews are so stellar.
