Was able to get into be seen early in the morning and they were able to check my tire for the nail/screw that I saw lodged. Good news the screw did not go deep enough to cause a leak. They took the tire off and put it into the dunk tank just in case. Since there was no issue, they didn't charge me for anything. I made sure to take care of the person helping me for their time. The BEST! I came into Peninsula tire needing new sensors on my tires. They installed them quickly and for a fair price and then showed me how my tires were out of alignment ,wearing very badly and were unsafe. They also showed me how low my brake pads were and explained to me why I needed a front end alignment. They completed all these tasks, efficiently, correctly, and a very fair price. I took my car here to change out my rims, all they needed to to was switch out my wheels and while they were jacking up my car they broke one of the pads that you would use to jack the car up. My car has a vinyl wrap on it so it stretched the wrap and I needed to get that fixed by the person who wrapped it. Also I had to point this issue out, they didn't tell me that the pad was broke and it was clearly popped out of place. I Wouldn't take your car here if it is nice. I did not get a refund. Luckily they messed up the bottom of my car and it wasn't a huge issue. read more

I was in town for a quick visit. My vehicle needed tires. Tony was very nice and said it would take 1-2 days. I didn't receive a call on the 2nd day, in fact I had to call to inquire about it just to find out it would not be arriving that day. On the 3rd day the tire arrived but I was told right before installation that the brand of tire I ordered was not available. Seems like there was a major break down some where. After numerous assurances of arrival of my tires where the arrival date changed 4 times, it took almost 3 weeks before I could go in for the install, only to discover the wrong tires had been ordered. I made no less than 15 calls to get updates, where I rarely even got someone to pick up the phone. It usually took 3-4 attempts before anyone would even answer the phone and then it felt like I was starting from scratch each time with promises to expedite the order and call me back with a specific update. None of those promises ever occurred. Not sure how this firm can even stay in business. Stay away!! read more

Four weeks ago, we placed an order for tires and were told that if we brought cash that day, we'd get a "better deal." After weeks of excuses and regular follow-up calls on our end, the tires were finally installed--only to be told at the time of installment they weren't even the brand or size tire we were originally quoted for and purchased. Woke up Saturday to discover one tire that lost 10 pounds of pressure. The nearest gas stations had faulty air gauges. Peninsula Tire Service was near by. Drove there and discovered courteous professional staff. They checked the air pressure in all four tires. They took off the tire with the least air and thoroughly inspected and tested for possible leaks. None were found so air was added and it was good to go. 20 minutes. No charge because "we did not sell you anything". I disagree. They gave me their valuable time and expertise. In Monterey for the weekend and woke up to a very low tire, and I could see a large nail protruding. Not the kind of experience one wants while on vacation. I checked Yelp! and found Peninsula Tire Service just blocks from my hotel. I got there 30 minutes before opening, hoping to get my tire fixed as soon as possible. The owner showed up right after me, took a look at my tire (even though they weren't open yet) and said he'd take care of it as soon as the mechanic showed up. I wanted to change my tires to all season tires. I called them to ask if they had it. They said they could order it and it would be delivered 2 days from the day we spoke. They said they'd need to take my credit card. They charged me $1500. From that point on they never updated me on the tires. I called numerous times to no answer. Finally got a hold of them through a blocked number and they said that my tires were delayed and would get there a week later. Fast forward three weeks later they were still so difficult to get a hold of. Finally got a hold of them and they said they'd refund me after a month. Still have not received a refund. So my wife called them up a few weeks ago to get an alignment and balance. Luckily they were able to fit us in, but failed to tell us that the day they only could rotate the tires (which took all day) and we had to reschedule after they received the parts. One wasted day. When I came back to get the alignment (2 weeks later) they we had shown up late and nobody could help. I waited about 10 min in the office and went back to my truck to see if someone shows up. After about 10 more minutes the crew starts talking to someone who looks like they're in charge, but they don't come over to see if they can help, so I'm not sure who it is. When he starts helping someone else, it becomes clear that's the guy. I pass by the crew and ask if that's the guy I need and they say yes. "Thanks for letting him know I'm waiting " I mentioned. When I get inside I said I was waiting for a while "I was upstairs " is the response. "Can you leave it again?" 2nd day wasted If you really want business, this isn't the way to handle your customers. I'm glad others got great service and friendly help, but my experience was far from it. Newton brothers down the street is busy also, but at least they're up front about what's happening, and they're willing to help rather than be apathetic to your needs. Another outstanding customer service experience. At my last service with Mercedes a few weeks ago in September, they had told me that I needed new brakes and tires in about 800 miles. Fast forward another 200 miles of driving, and knowing I was about to go on a 1,000 mile road trip, I had my personal assistant make an appointment and bring the car in. Peninsula looked at the car, and told her that no need brakes or tires were needed yet - there was easily another few thousand miles left before either needed replacing. And Peninsula didn't charge anything at all for their time. I was super impressed by their honesty and integrity. I've been doing business with Tony for over eight years. I've never had any problems until recently. I gave him $350 cash down to order my tires, the wrong tires came in. He said he would re-order which he never did another two weeks went by I had to keep calling him and calling him he never returned my calls. I finally went down there to check on my order. It had never been placed. I had no more time to wait because I was going on a long road trip and needed my tires changed immediately. So I asked him for my deposit back of 350. He gave me the runaround Telling me to come back at 10 o'clock. He gave me $250 and then he said to come back at 1 o'clock to give me the other hundred dollars this is complete unprofessionalism. The website says 7am we show up with a flat tire at 650 . We wait til 7:05 then the guy says no one is here til 730 am hang tight. Still waiting then . If your business on the website says 7am you should be fully open. Change the website if your not going to be fully open. Finally at 753 the guy who said we have to wait for someone to show up starts putting air in our tire and fixing the tire. Really, wow the worst !!!! I have to say when they did start working on the car at 753 they were checking all tires to find out why the low pressure light came on. There was nothing wrong that he could see. When I have to drive down there 4 times because they ordered the wrong tires for my mini-van, that is not good customer service. My invoice was charging for 4 tires when I ordered 2 tires so he had to credit me for the error. Tony also promised to give me a refund for one tire because of the trouble that I experienced but he never did that so I was really charged for 2 tires. Also, they did not install the hub caps correctly because the air stems were tucked under the hubcaps and one of my hubcaps flew off. Now my tire pressure light came on because not enough air is in the tires. I watched them do all the work so I did think they were doing right by me. I've debated on leaving a review because I thought that I would be happy with the service and I am. I took my car in and waited a month for a phone about tires I paid for. I kept following up and they still didn't arrive. Tony told me he would correct the problem and give me a better deal on better tires. It's been several months now and my car is still shaking, which I asked if something they could fix, my tire pressure is low all the time and one tire blew out and I've only had these for a few months. I also got my brakes changed and I tried to get used to them but I have to step on them so hard to get my car to stop, it's dangerous. I work from home so my car doesn't get a ton of use which is why it's taken me so long to give a fair assessment. Friendly service goes a long way for Peninsula Tires and I really like Tony but every time I called it was like my order was a mystery until Tony could get on the phone and I can't help but feel like I was looked over as a customer. I'm glad to see so many good reviews and I hope that my issue was a one off but I don't have the energy or patience to bring my car back in for them to re-assess.
