The only tire shop that went out of their way to help me and were able to get me the performance tire I needed for my car, that everyone else told me they couldn't get me until the following week, was Calderon Tires. I called on a Friday morning to see if they had tires for my truck and I was told they could have them by Monday. It was $280 for two tires including service. Monday I called around noon to see if they had the tires and I was told they ordered the wrong tires by accident and it would be another day. I called Tuesday and was told it would be another day before tires arrived. Wednesday I called and was told they had the tires but were really busy and could I come in Thursday. I dropped it off Thursday and was told to check back late afternoon. So I called around 4 pm and was told they were still waiting on one of the tires and would Friday be ok. I finally got it back Friday afternoon, a week after calling. I didn't need my truck that week so we managed but if someone relied on their vehicle and really needed the work, what would they do? Plus I wax asked for my credit card information during the first call so I was sort of trapped. read more

Calderon Tires is THE place to go if you need tire service in the Monterey area. Four of us were driving up the Big Sur coast on Sunday and blew out BOTH right side tires when I hit a recently fallen rock on the roadway. AAA came and towed me north to Monterey. I didn't know where to have it towed, except I needed a tire store. Once we had cell service, I searched Yelp for options. My AAA driver saw Calderon and told me he had had good service from their Salinas store before and recommended it. His story plus the good Yelp reviews made my decision a no brainer. We left the car parked in front of Calderon late Sunday night. When I called the next morning, Jose was already on it. By the time I got the keys over to him, he had pulled the wheels off and had discovered a cracked rim in addition to blown tires. As we were just passing through and had custom rims that couldn't be easily gotten that same day (Jose had already searched the web and called the Jag dealer looking for the right one), they did a quick but sound fix to the rim and had new tires on the vehicle by the end of the day. This could have been a real pain in the wallet, but Calderon was exceptionally reasonable, for the tire and the fix. We all were amazed at the low cost and the efficiency of the guys at Calderon. Great experience with this tire shop. Day one was fact finding. I was greeted quickly and felt like I was being handled properly. 5 to 10 minutes went by and I started getting anxious and was wondering if they had forgot about me. Well lo and behold the gentleman actually came out of the back with the two tires I was asking for. So all this time I was thinking they forgot about me he was actually digging around in his tire stock looking for the exact tires I was looking for. They offered me a fair price however I was not in a position to purchase at that time because I didn't have enough money. I tried to haggle with them but they wouldn't budge on the price. Now you might think that's a bad thing but actually see that is a good thing that means they're reputable that they're not artificially inflating the prices just so they could lower them. And I actually knew that what they were offering me was a great deal. Day two. One week later. I came back just shy of the amount they're asking for. Hoping that they may be able to help me. To my surprise they remembered who I was and I just told him straight up look up been hit hard by the pandemic and if you could give it to me for this price I would be greatly appreciated. It was only $10 less than what they're asking for. He happily agreed to help me out. Before long I was on my way with two used tires in brand new condition that I felt like I got a really good deal on. Day three: But what really made me want to write this review was a fact that I came back (different day a week later) on a Sunday. a day that they're closed although I didn't know they were closed. I was driving around looking for a shop to help me loosen a bolt on a side project that I've been working on. I pulled up and I saw that they're closed but there was one man working on his own car I think he worked there and he was actually just doing something for his own car on that day. He was nice enough to stop what he was doing and help me loosen the bolt. And I thought that was really nice he could've just said hey we're close come back or I can't do it. I was truly impressed by the service and care provided by Calderon Tires. I had a flat tire, and didn't intend on driving 3 hours back home on a spare tire. Needless to say, I was desperate and at the mercy of the local tire shops. I called around several shops and the wait time was at least 2 hours. I called Calderon Tires and was told it will take 20 mins. Prior to going there, I stopped by another shop to get a quote but felt it was on the higher end. Upon arriving at Calderon Tires, we were pleasantly greeted by Jose. He helped us right away, provided a quote that happened to be half the cost of the other shop's quote, and told us it will take 10-15 mins! After replacing the tire, he made sure to check on the spare and the other 3 times to see if it needed more air. All with smiles and genuine precaution/concern! I truly recommend this place. I bought a set of tires for my car 2 years ago. This morning, when I took off the hubcaps to inflate the tires, I noticed a balancing weight had come loose. I took the car to Calderon, and even though it was the middle of the day and they were extremely busy, they balanced the tire and I was back on the road in 15 minutes. This place is great! I was planning on going here because I didn't get off work until 5pm and they were the only shop that I called who stayed open until 6pm. My tire had blown that morning. The roadside assistance guys who put my spare on even recommend going here to get a new tire. My old tire was unrepairable because the hole was completely shredded. Anyway, I pulled right up into the front of their office and one man immediately helped me out. He took a look at the flat tire and showed me the hole. I was terrified I was going to have to pay a couple hundred for a new tire so I asked him about a used one. He gave me a great solid tire for $45... and that was it! He changed my tire out and put my spare back under my car. All of this took about 10 minutes (if that). I didn't have to wait. It was so simple and easy. The service was great. The man was super friendly and helpful. (I'm sorry I never caught your name!) I will recommend this place to anyone! read more

I was recommended to Calderon Tires from another tire company because they didn't have the tire size I needed. I love my tire place so I trusted thier recommendation. I called Calderon Tires and that afternoon they replaced my worn down tire for $50 (which I didn't think was bad at all)... The service was fast, I was in and out in 15/ 20 mins. Well.. After noticing the tire looking a little flat a few times I pumped air into it and no more than TWO WEEKS later I was running late for work and I get out to my car and BAM I had a completely flat tire. I called Calderon Tires and the person I had spoke to remembered me from when I had my tire replaced and told me I could bring the tire in and if its a faulty tire they would replace it for NO CHARGE (which made me happy) but if it was a nail or anything else I would I have to pay for a new one (which I totally understand). So the next day I had my car towed to Calderon Tires which cost $70. They replaced my tire and when I went to pick it up the person who checked me out (whom I did not recognize from my pervious visit) told me THE TIRE WAS BAD so I assumed I didn't have to pay for the replacment well... I was charged another $65!!!!!!!!!!! so all in all $50 tire, cab to school for my daughter and work for me $22, tow $70 and replacement tire $65 = TOTAL $207 I could have bought a new tire and saved myself all the hassle. I just think with situations like this Calderon Tires should have replaced my tire at no charge because of the hassle that could have been prevented if they examined the tire before they placed it on my car.. What if I was on the highway and the tire popped? read more

It cost me $20 bucks to patch up my tire, which honestly wasn't expensive and it saved me from replacing my tire. I was greeted immediately when I arrived and within 15 mins my car was being repaired. They were very friendly and I would def recommend them to anyone who needed their tire patched up! read more

Be careful when you buy tires at these place they don't balance all four tires only the ones on the front and when you do the rotation somewhere else you have to pay to get them balance and not even the two tires they did are done right.
