This is my third time eating here and this is a great lunch spot! The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is nice and when I order online, I like that the sandwich is always ready, but they don't drop the fries until you get there so they are actually hot. It's a nice touch. picked up dinner from penn station in hartwell tonight and it was exactly what i needed. i've always been loyal to the original philly with mushrooms and peppers (no onions) and for years i've added teriyaki...turns out that combo actually has a name now, the founder's special. didn't know it, but that's been my order forever. everything was on point tonight...the bread perfectly toasted, steak juicy, sauce balanced just right. fries fresh, lemonade solid. the kind of meal that just hits every craving without trying too hard. staff was quick, friendly, and had my order ready right on time. this location stays consistent, and that's why i keep coming back. simple, classic, and still undefeated in the philly game. read more

I am here to amend a previous review. This is due to the steps they've taken to maintain a better and cleaner restaurant. As stated previously, food and service is great! Always phenomenal food(especially the fries)! Certain employees are very respectful and kind. Others present as somewhat curt and closed off. Would prefer a more welcoming or inviting tone/attitude but that might not be what they're going for. I previously reviewed them and said the kitchen looked messy and not well maintained. Since then, I've stopped in a few times and the kitchen does look cleaner. I'll be stopping by again today and will amend this review as needed. read more

Arrived at 9:35pm - Supposedly closed before time (per the door sign being off), did not offer Bengals Win special of BOGO, would take my order if I wasn't trying to get the BOGO special. Not the best Philly cheese steak IMO. Way too greasy. Menu is also too big. At least you get your food quickly.

Just placed an order at Hartwell ($and noticed the price was a bit more expensive than North College Hill ($12.99) regular and Colerain ($13.99). Why the different prices? Now I feel cheated out of money. read more

Other than the fact that they can get behind on cleaning up the lobby when they get busy (and they'll get "busy" if they have more than 3 people come in, they always seem short staffed), I've been through this Penn Station three times and never had a complaint. They do walkins and phone orders fine, get the orders right, and are never impolite or unprofessional in my interactions. It's a chain, so take it how you will, but I'm a fan. read more

When you enter a chain, you have an expectation of the same level of food quality, service and overall experience. I have to say this location was successful in food quality but was over shadowed by some service issues that left me feeling less than thrilled. The real point that came across very negative was a sign at the register. I am not sure of what problems that may attributed to the sign at the register but it left a very negative and poor quality feeling for me, who was not a part of whatever issue that occurred in the past. My advice to the franchise owner or store manager- if you post something like this you will never attract quality clientele. It scares away people just trying to have lunch. read more

They made my sandwich incorrectly so I called to let them know about the issue. A team member told me no problem and to come back with the sandwich and he'll replace it. I told him I was headed to work and couldn't return for a few days. He said no problem, I'll just take care of you when you come back. When I returned about a week later the "General Manager" REFUSED to replace my sandwich. He told me I'd have to pay 50% off the price of my sandwich because I didn't bring back the sandwich.... I was completely flabbergasted at how a manager got a food restaurant suggested that I hang on to a sandwich for a week in order to have it replaced. I even took pictures and videos of the sandwich showing it was completely different than my receipt. The moral and ethical thing to do would have been to simply replace what you messed up THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR! I paid my money and didn't eat my sandwich because YOU made a mistake. I will never come back. When I reached out to corporate I was told the would forward the complaint to him. Horrible horrible customer service. read more

Penn Station subs are the absolutely delicious. The combination of the grilled insides and the toasted bread is perfect. I like that the bread is usually crisp on the outside but warm and soft on the inside. The last time I had the fries, they were a little greasier than I remember, but they were still pretty good. I really like this location because they work really fast and you don't have to wait very long, even when you go at lunch time and they're rather busy. The young woman that waited on me at the cash register was so sweet. I frequent this location more than any other, and the experience is always pretty good. I ordered the BLT and the BF got the Philly cheese steak. My sandwich was alright. Nothing particularly special about it. And unfortunately the fries which everyone raves about were simply mediocre. To be honest we came here because it was the only thing in the neighborhood that could resemble a real meal. So I called to place my order. A young man answered to and asked for my name. Once I gave him my name he placed me on hold. 1 minute turned into 5. 5 minutes turned into 10. Meanwhile they have me on hold I hear 2 employees gossiping about other employees.. During lunch rush, they are slammed by the way, the manager is just standing behind the line. Staring at all the workers and is clearly in their way. Their sandwiches are the same as any other location. I love their fries, fresh cut and golden brown. They work fast and accurately.

Fast friendly service and the food is always fresh. I love the chicken philly with their fresh cut fries. The secret is to ask for a side of seasoning for your fries, it's awesome. I will be back soon! read more

This Penn Station is absolutely terrible. Worst experience I've ever had in any restaurant. The manager was argumentative and completely disrespectful. Which saved me from even eating the food which I'd rather not have touched after my experience with the incompetent "so-called" manager, only woman on staff, when I asked who her superior was and what her name was she refused to answer either question. She then said "I don't wear a badge for that reason duh." And cancelled my order. I called corporate and of course these are individually franchised. After three tries and no response from the owner I figured the owner doesn't care at all about who he/she employees and how they affect the business. I will never again visit this Penn Station and deter anyone who plans to go there, even if my house is right down the street. Shame on them... read more
