    a flight of beers
    Catherine T.

Wow! Some of the best German food we have had since visiting Munich. The beer was good, order a full flight to try it all. You may want to share with a friend - it's a large flight. The wurst and schnauzer sandwich were on point! Enjoy and have fun!!!

You can watch them brew and bottle beer!

They have a large beer selection and I love that they have a lot of non beer options too like Jackworth Ginger Beer. The staff is super nice, we had a last minute party here and they were able to accommodate our large group and were super nice to my MIL. You can bring food from nearby spots like Gino's and they also have a food truck outside that does great food. Definitely a great spot to hang!

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

I tend towards lighter beers, and they had several great options for me (don't worry, there are plenty of darker beers and higher-alcohol-percentage brews; I just didn't order them). There are three or four bars, along with a stage and places for food trucks. The bars are all linked, so you can open a tab at one and it'll be available at the others as well. Super friendly service. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was well-staffed with very cool employees. The atmosphere is nice, too, and I appreciated the poster on one wall explaining the meaning of "Grist House". You can bring dogs too! Some very nice dogs were present on this particular Saturday. Next time I'm coming through this way, I will definitely be stopping by again. * Note: it's a brewery, of course, but they do offer some wines and their own cocktail concoctions.

This is part of the Hazelwood Brew House complex, which means there's enough space that things don't seem too loud or too over-full. I went on a Saturday afternoon and absolutely enjoyed the beer. There are food options available in the same facility, but they are offered separately from any of the breweries. As best as I can tell, parking is all on the street, but it wasn't hard to find a reasonable spot right out back. In terms of service, I have no complaints. It doesn't take much to keep an eye on the level of my pint glass while I do some reading, but the bar tender felt responsive, asked if I wanted another just moments before I finished my first pint. I didn't get the impression that the she was a beer nerd, but she was absolutely very helpful and attentive. In any case, I highly recommend checking out the whole complex.

Super friendly and you can sample the beers - they even encourage you to sample before deciding on a pour. We each tasted a few then ordered a flight of three: El Hefe Esta Loco (my favorite), East Coast Haze (his favorite out of all 3 breweries today) and Blonde Ambition. The beers were all refreshing and flavorful. I also tasted the confluence (a must try in Pittsburgh) and it's great if you are looking for a lighter beer.
