Needed to get a formal dress dry cleaned after a wedding I attended! Looked up the local area dry cleaners and found people's cleaners! The store is easily found right on Chippewa street in a plaza with a cute little lot and right near a decently popular intersection. The store is clean and more or less what you expect a dry cleaners place to look like but the service was speedy and produced a good product for a reasonable price. The two people that I intersected with vert very helpful and gave me all the info that I needed. There is a small charge for using your credit card but to dry clean my long formal dress with some beading and buttons (all stayed on the dress) a turn around time of 4 days was $16. read more

Slow, sloppy, and expensive. Took 2 pairs of pants for waist and hem alterations. They took a day longer than promised to finish. Pants 1: very sloppy stitching at waist, waist was not brought in enough, raw edges not fully serged. Pants 2: no waist alteration was done, and I had to try on the pants to show them they were still too big, even though it was obvious from a glance they hadn't been touched. But the crowning glory was A STRAIGHT PIN STITCHED INTO THE HEM. Pants are completely unusable as delivered. I got a refund for the waist that was obviously untouched, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. You'd be better off buying a sewing machine and doing it yourself. read more

I took my Coast Guard Bravo uniform and honestly I was kind of scared because I'm really careful with my military uniform. This was my first time taking my uniform to a civilian. Just look at the pictures and you rate the quality of work is sloppy and honestly unacceptable. I would have understood if the placement was wrong because it might have been their first time doing a Coast Guard Uniform but the quality of the work it's awful. Solid. Dependable. No staples in the clothes and no annoying iron-on barcode tags. Just good honest cleaning. They hang the shirts well, with the arms folded inward to minimize wrinkling. Honestly, I hate ironing, but who doesn't? Every now and then I have a few items of clothing that are "dry clean only" and I have no choice but to bring them for a professional clean/iron and this is where I go. People's Cleaners is located pretty close to where I live and the hours are convenient for my schedule. I enjoy going in to drop of items because the owner and her daughter are both so friendly and easy-going. The owner and I like to chat and I really do enjoy getting to know her each time I go in. She even explained a few things to me about clothing and how to best clean some items at home so that I don't have to bring things in all the time. This last visit, she came around the counter to give me a hug. I was a but taken aback, but she told me that I just brighten her day because I am so friendly and nice. She said that she does look forward to my visits (which I am sure she says to a lot of customers, but how many customers get hugs?). She makes it a point to remember last names and she definitely remembers faces which is a good sign. I need to go pick up some items tomorrow and when I do, I will also be dropping off a queen size comforter for dry cleaning since I have a guest coming into town next week and I want to have a nice and clean bed for her to sleep in! The cost of the comforter dry cleaning is probably going to be about $40...and I don't know if that is standard or not, but I don't care. I trust People's Cleaners to take good care of the comforter and get it back to me in good condition. As others have said, this is a cash/check place, but they do take a credit card for a fee (it might still be 3% but I don't know for sure). I usually pay in cash. When you drop off the items you are given a ticket for pick-up and the cost is listed on the ticket so it makes it easy for me to remember to bring the exact change. read more

I have used this cleaners for a few year. In all my experience, for what it's worth, I have always been happy with the care and quality. It is refreshing to be politely greeted with a smile everytime. At times I can see they are tired and exhausted but I have always been welcomed and made to feel appreciated. My clothes show the care of the cleaners not like some places where its just business and another garment. I bought a new suit and gave it to her for alterations at 6:30 on a Weds night with a deadline of the next day as that was when my flight was leaving. I had a very complicated dress alteration done here, and it was done very well. She was able to get it back to me within a week, which was perfect. The price was a little high but totally worth it - the dress fit like a glove and I got a ton of compliments. They do prefer you pay cash, otherwise it's a 3% charge for credit cards. read more

Great customer service! The lady behind the counter was super friendly and talkative, both when I dropped off and when I picked up. Fast turnaround, convenient location and hours. They charged $33.50 for two cocktail dresses and a 2 piece men's suit. I don't have to have things dry cleaned too often, but this didn't seem like that bad of a price, especially considering one of the dresses was satiny type fabric. They also do alternations, which I'm interested to check out sometime. And yes, they don't take debit or credit cards so make sure you bring cash or your checkbook! read more

The changing room is a little too public for my taste (just a drawn curtain next to a wall). But it gets the job done. The shop was also able to get the suit done just in time for a job interview I had scheduled so that's a big plus in my book. read more

Aside from doing great work, including alterations and repairs, she is friendly and remembers all her customers by name. When I go in she always asks about my son and husband, and vice versa if hubs is the one making the stop. Take your business else where to save yourself the headache and money. She lost my sweater and has refused to take responsibility. I went in on a Saturday to pick up my clothes where I found she lost my favorite sweater. She then told me she would find it by Monday and call me. I did not receive a call so I went in on Wednesday to talk to her. She told me that my sweater likely went out with someone else's dry cleaning. I would have to wait a month to see if anyone would return it and only then if no one returned it I would get a 50% of the sweaters value after providing the receipt of my sweater. This sweater is two years old. I do not have any proof of how much this sweater is. On top of it she was very rude. I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

I had an awesome experience with People's Cleaners. The owners & staff are professional, friendly, and truly care about providing optimal service to their customers. There prices are very reasonable and they are honest about what they can and can't do in terms of service. I brought them my worn wedding dress made of silk, chiffon, lace and French tulle to be cleaned since I was reselling it to another bride. It was covered in beer stains and weathered with holes. It took them 4 days and they got out every stain, sewed up all of the holes and even pressed it to bring it back to its glory. It looked brand new, just the way I got it when I had it custom made. I have come here multiple times and never had issues. I brought a scarf the most recent time that my mother gave me, and it came back with a few holes in it. When I pointed it out politely to the woman she got very defensive and said that they threw my scarf with a bin other things and it wasn't their fault if it was damaged, and how did I know it was really them? Instead of owning up to the situation, I felt attacked. I'm very disappointed after having come multiple times before and giving them less fragile items- I would have hoped they would have respected me enough to discuss it with me instead of what seemed to be accusing me of lying about never having worn the scarf before (I left it near a box of cookies in my house, hence the reason I brought it in). read more

From dry cleaning to alterations this place is amazing. The owner is very sweet and will try to accommodate your request. I tend to drop of a large amount of items to be cleaned at a time and they always come back perfectly clean and pressed. Also, if the owner's boyfriend is there he carries my items to my car.
